Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

Hello I have been madly busy at work, so not been on for over a week Shock

Am feeling a bit down tbh, since my dog went it feels like I have nothing going on in my life except work, and no baby on the way, at our age (late 30s) it sort of feels like we are a bit old to have weekends loafing about.

Just feeling sorry for myself, but we haven't really tried very hard this month. Maybe I have the January blues.

I have not read back yet so I hope everyone is OK.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 15/01/2011 18:31

Hello all of you,

I've been lurking for a little while, and am going a bit mad in the 2ww while my OH is away for two weeks in India. I did a test before he went in the hope that it would be positive so I wouldn't need to worry about testing while he's away. I don't really know whats going on with my cycle, I stopped taking the pill in the 17th, and got a withdrawal bleed (TMI) as usual on the 19th, so I think ERTD is due any day now.

I have been feeling pregnant for a couple of weeks, had a variety of symptoms, but probably all in my head. I'm pretty sure I ovulated around the 28th of December, but only really gut feeling and have been on the pill for 7 years.

Please look after me, you seem like a nice bunch!

raspberrytipple · 15/01/2011 19:01

Hello Lizzy and welcome! We all drive ourselves mad on the 2ww so you will fit in well!!!! How long have you been ttc? Note down your credentials if you want to and we will get you initiated onto the list xx

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 15/01/2011 19:15

LizzyMathsWhizzy TTC #1,Cycle 1, UCL who knows, CD 27

I think thats right...

I have no idea about the cycle length, so I don't really know when I can get away with POAS. I need a slap with a haddock I think!

weimy · 15/01/2011 20:18

Thanks Karstan! I might be 1dpo then!

Hi Lizzy

Tigerseye sorry you are feeling so awful (sp?), Like you I am in my later 30s and know that without the dogs around me I would find weekends very difficult as other than work everything revolves around their needs :(. Anyway myself and the rest of the weimy pack send you huge hugs and licks xxx

TigerseyeMum · 15/01/2011 21:06

Hi Weimy, thanks for the hugs and licks :) I really miss having dogs around me. I have my cat and he is very clingy, but he doesn't really need walking!

I adore weimies :) I had a sprollie and a lurcher, fantastic dogs, miss them every day.

We really need to find some hobbies!

Welcome Lizzy !

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 15/01/2011 21:12

My cats give me someone to talk to whenever I'm going a bit mad. Unfortunately they never give any helpful advice.

Weimy have you thought about volunteering to walk dogs for a local shelter? I did that for a while when I was at uni and struggling with weekends away from home. I found it helped, because there were people there to make a point of contact, and it gave me somewhere to go rather than staying n bed all weekend like the rest of the students!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 15/01/2011 23:03

Hi Lizzy Welcome to the madhouse

OP posts:
weimy · 16/01/2011 14:56

Lizzy I would end up with too many dogs that way and DP has drawn the line at the three :)

Tigerseye sprollie! brains and energy! :) My eldest weimys girlfriend is a lurcher it is great seeing seeing them on the go!

Do you think you would ever get another? There are so many things to think about tho, grr being a grown up is pants!

Hi all! Booo hiss if ertd has got you, good luck if you are on the 2ww and happy SWI if you are due to ov :)

TigerseyeMum · 16/01/2011 16:38

Weimy both our dogs were elderly when we adopted them, so they were not overly bouncy, though our lurcher could still run like the wind! We nursed them for a long time - since October 2009 as they got old and wobbly and it was exhausting - plus work got madly busy - so we are having a break for a while.

I think that secretly we think that if we had a baby, and I worked less hours, then maybe we could manage another, but it is such a commitment.

If I won the lottery I would have a houseful and not work and be very happy!

I do things like homechecks and transport and fundraising for rescues and belong to forums, so I get my dog fix in a few ways, without needing one of my own. It is a huge adjustment though. From 4 walks a day to none :(

Donned the cape today but a bit late so we shall see. I had a 40 day cycle last month but could have been the stress of losing our dog, so we shall see this time.

Afternoon all :)

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 16/01/2011 16:58

Oops, my comment about helping at rescue centres should have been aimed at Tiger, obviously Weimy has enough dogs to keep her going!

I'm still waiting for the imminent ERTD, but still doing the pathetic victory dance everytime I go to the loo!

Good luck on the lottery win Tiger I think we could all enjoy the vision of a house full of children and animals and not having to work! I'd need a cleaner to go round after me though...

...and a chef wouldn't go amiss!

gardenpixie · 16/01/2011 18:02

Hello Frolickers how are you all?

Welcome to all the newbies - hope your stay is short Grin

And huge congratulations to slowshow and roundtable what a lovely start to the year!

I hope 2011 is going well for everyone else.

Huge apologies for AWOL-ery since before Christmas: we were at my parents' house and it was impossible to get any time on the internet without one or other of the rents looking over my shoulder! And then we went to a little cottage for a break with our hound ... where we couldn't get internet reception at all!

It was lovely and just what we needed - I am so pleased I took a month of clomid so we could relax and have fun rather than following an arduous SWI regime. We still practised a bit though just to make sure we didn't forget what to do next month Wink

I was thinking I might take it easy on MNing until we start IVF (we got referred a couple of weeks ago so should hear soon about our first appt). I feel a bit like a barren old jinx on everyone and thought I should probably take a step back for a bit until I have at least a little chance of falling pg. We have two more months of clomid left but I'm not getting my hopes up as I think it should have happened by now if it was going to work for us.

I will be lurking though and am sending enormous amounts of crossed fingers, cocktails, and Gs&T to further the cause of getting loads more BFPs!

Get to it girls Grin !

xxxx GP

cookiemoo · 16/01/2011 18:59

Lovely to hear from you pixie was thinking of you the other day, plsed to hear you're ok and had a lovely Christmas break. X

KalokiMallow · 16/01/2011 19:02

I just found something out! My first ever MN post was on a Frolickers thread :) 6th November 2009!

Truffkin · 16/01/2011 23:17

Hey Garden your time off sounds just what you needed, glad you had such a lovely time. In case it interests you at all, my best friend recently got pg on her 9 th round of clomid after 30 months of ttc!

Hi Lizzy and welcome to the thread!

Have had a good weekend, although am slightly flummoxed at how Sunday night is here already! No sickness or boob tenderness to get my hopes up either Sad and as I developed a cold on Friday night I've not been very good at drinking and lost my appetite a bit. Am off to bed now as feeling the effects of a late night catching up with a friend last night. We had a proper girlie night talking wedding plans Grin

ToriaPumpkinHead · 16/01/2011 23:26

Evning ladies! Have had several glasses of wine as I've decided that even if I did conceive this month nothing I do at this stage can have the slightest bit of impact. Have spent mpost fot the night getting involved in arguments in AIBU. Was fun Grin

Have finished the baby blanket for the pregnant lady in my life and if I do say so myself I'm very proud of it. een OH is impressed Grin It's a bit pink, so this bby better be a girl (we all think it is, including th emother and father to be, so fingers rossed!)

As for my symptoms, boobs are still tender, and I had some heartburn today, but everything else seems to be passing. Was a bit concerned warluer when I noticed bleeding from my right ear but pretty sure it's just a burst spot (bleugh) or something similar. I did bang my head yesterday but sure it's not serious enough to have caused real damage. Have been bursting into tears and very angry today which would suggest PMT is on its way but still hav no urge to pee on things so will keep goingmfor now adn see.

Garden very good to see you lovely, I think some time away is probably good for the sanity but don't be a stranger Fingers crossed your IVF appts come through quickly.

Tiger if you win the lottery remember us!

Truff I despise with a passion Sunday night, they come too soon! And don't lose hope, as I recall MrsWaajs (my first BFP as a frollie) had a terrible old as her first symptom!

Right, bed and more wine are calling me in equal measure. Will get onto the list and then head off. Sweet dreams ladies!

Morning all! Just sticking my head round the door to give a big wave to gardenpixie and a "Welcome" to LizzyMathsWhizzy

Boo to ERTD for those that have fallen victim and fingers crossed for those who are approaching T(testing) Day.

I'm counting down the hours days until my Drs appointment so that I can find out what my blood tests have shown up and what my GP suggests we do next.

Happy new week ladies, lets hope the weekend gets here quickly!

raspberrytipple · 17/01/2011 07:43

Morning all just popped in to say I am CD4 today not yesterday. I can't up date the list though as I'm on phone. ERTD has now officially left the building so I am ready to get the cape out for a dust down after two weeks off Grin

Happy Monday girls x

Welcome LizzyMathsWhizzy

Weimy and Tigerseye my dog is getting on now too and can only manage short walks so we don?t get out much with her. She loves going for a run in the field but she?s got arthritis so gets stiff if she does too much.

Welcome back Garden, glad you had a fab time away. Sorry you?re taking a break but hope everything goes really well and the IVF does the trick. Come visit us soon!

I seem to have gained a day on the list, day 10 today. Have told DH that today to Friday is the best time so we?ve agreed early nights this week, will see if that goes to plan Hmm Trying on my bridesmaid dress tomorrow, so much for waiting until march just in case Grin. I haven?t seen it properly but the design looks like it?ll hang nicely over a bump. I can only be 6 months at the most by then so hopefully will be ok if anything does happen before then. Trouble is, I?m trying it at her MiL to be?s house, which stinks of smoke. If we take them, I will have to somehow suggest that the dresses live somewhere else

Sorry to anyone I?ve missed

Updating the list to put me back to CD1 today. Am feeling quite sad, more sad than angry or annoyed, which is new reaction for me.

Have also changed Josie to CD10.

JosieSmith1 · 17/01/2011 14:32

Thanks Truff, sorry you're sad, hope you feel brighter soon, ready to try again next month

Imps7 · 17/01/2011 14:41

Hello all

ERTD arrived today, so I?m officially TTC #1, UCL 35, CD 1. Strange thing is, the gagging and light-headedness returned this morning and I?ve been sick four times at work! Clearly this is something completely separate and I?m wondering if it?s worth a trip to the doc?s. I may go later in the week if I still feel odd. I have quite a delicate system (cannot cope with most antibiotics or pain killers) and am wondering if anyone has ever had a negative reaction to folic acid/multivitamins, as I can?t think what else could be making me feel so weird.

Chin up Truff - look after yourself and allow yourself to wallow in sadness for a bit - I always find that helps me pick myself up.

Imps7 · 17/01/2011 14:42

*Oops - forget to add that am on Cycle 2.
