Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

Toria thanks for putting me on the list, thats my first list as a MNer! How exciting Smile

I'm focussing on not peeing on anything until tomorrow - challenging!

Sorry to all caught be ERTD, I expect it to be me in the next day or so... although I normally get hideous cramps... even when I was on the pill, and haven't even had a whiff of a twinge yet... [CONFUSED]

highheelsandequations · 17/01/2011 17:12

Just popping across to wave at gardenpixie and say good luck for the IVF. Make sure you keep us informed of how you're getting on and don't forget all the stories about couples who get referred for IVF only to find they're expecting. Hope life's treating you well.

ToriaPumpkinHead · 17/01/2011 18:17

Well I started some spotting today so imagine that's it for this month. I'm four days early though wich is concerning, unless it continues and then starts properly on Wed which would put me on "normal" 28 day cycle two months running and in which case I could pretend that all my Emma Cannon stuff has helped!

Like Truff I'm feeling a bit sad rather than angry or frustrated, think I'm getting resigned to this outcome. Also, this means that OH and I are off to the doctors, as we made a deal that we'd go after six months given my family history and how long we were not trying but not always hindering after I had my coil out over two years ago.

Of course ERTD hasn't actually started yet, so there's always the slim to zero chance this is something far more interesting, but I'm not getting my hopes up! I have instead a vast quantity of wine which I'm going to leave here on this table while I slope off to release the tears that built up in me when I went into Clintons bloody cards to buy a new baby card for friends this afternoon.

CaveMum · 17/01/2011 18:26

Evening ladies.

Toria sorry to hear that ERTD is approaching.

Truff sorry that you are feeling down. January is a very depressing month at the best of times without the added stress of TTC.

For those of you that feel the need to cheer yourselves up I highly recommend you hi thee to your nearest Tesco. I've just got back from a quick catch up shop and they are selling off the last of their Christmas chocolates - including Lindt Santa's and Lindt Reindeer reduced from £3 each to 75p! I may have bought a few dozen Blush

weimy · 17/01/2011 21:22

tigerseye I think we share a similar dream I would love a big house with enough room for lots of dogs! and a horse!

josie mine are 10yrs, 5yrs and 9 months so my walks are long and eventful! I do worry about the eldest tho as he is definately starting to get old :(

Hi to all, sorry if the witch has got you and fx for those on the 2ww xxx

JosieSmith1 · 18/01/2011 08:46

Aw Weimy you definitely notice them slowing down don't you. Mine will be 15 this year and we've affectionately nicknamed her 'hopalong' and 'baby woodentop'! If it's any concolation, mine still manages most things fine, just gotta take it easy on the walks

Watched one born every minute last night and turned it off after the first birth! I knew it was a bad idea watching that. Nearly put me off my JSing but managed it anyway.

TigerseyeMum · 18/01/2011 12:08

I'm like a cat on heat, reckon I'm ovulating??? Grin

I am also happy cos I got some tickets to see Jimmy Carr, an extra date was released so I managed to get some.

Work and study are so busy this month I think we may have to don the cape in earnest next month instead.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 18/01/2011 16:25

Red witch for me today, so thats

LizzyMathsWhizzy TTC #1 Cycle 2 UCL 30 days CD 1

Cavemum took your advice on the choccies, will blame you when my trousers don't fit!

Keep shagging everyone, we could do with some BFPs in here!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 18/01/2011 17:13

Sorry to hear that Lizzy

Tiger Enjoy the cat on heat feeling! Absolutely loved Jimmy Carr when I saw him Grin

Josie I can't watch it either but mainly cos seeing the mums with their new babies makes me cry and weep and sulk and get snot everywhere...

Ok so today I am menkulling at an olympic level. The spotting yesterday stopped as soon as I came home, and it was barely anything, I was just in a foul mood. Today I have had one instance, which was literally a blob of CM which was streaked with blood. Nothing since. I've been wearing pads in case my body decides to catch me unawares but they're always clean.

I have cubs tonight which, of course, means ERTD is bound to make her final appearance while I'm running round with a bunch of eight year olds, but in the mean time I am trying my hardest not to believe this is the elusive implantation bleed. It's highly unlikely, right? Tell me I'm being ridiculous! I still haven't peed on anything, I'm doing so well!

OP posts:
LizzyMathsWhizzy · 18/01/2011 18:18

What is menkulling?

CaveMum · 18/01/2011 18:57

Lizzy as far as I understand "mekulling" is just another word for stressing out during 2WW!

Toria it ain't over till ERTD shows up.

Imps7 · 18/01/2011 19:13

Toria you are a stronger lady than I - well done for avoiding POAS hell. My fingers are still crossed for you - as Lizzy says it would be lovely to have news of a BFP.

Just to update my details on list, I'm Cycle 2, UCL 35, CD 2.

Just upset myself by watching OBEM on 4od. I need to pull myself together - this is only my second cycle of TTC! Although that said, I've been desperately wanting to start TTC for 3 years (there were various issues with OH's sister who couldn't conceive - he felt that if she couldn't have children, he shouldn't have children - happily she has just given birth after successful IVF) so it feels like a lot lot longer than one month that I've been waiting for a BFP.

Tiger - Jimmy Carr tickets - jealous! Where are you seeing him?

ToriaPumpkinHead · 18/01/2011 20:32

Imps That was the exact situation I found myself in. I wanted to start trying practically as soon as we were married but my OH is extremely sensible and grown up and insisted we wait until we'd graduated, sold our scummy house, got permanent jobs and bought a house we'd actually be happy bringing a baby home to. We suddenly managed all those things (other than graduating which happened in 2008) within the six months from last November (a seriously weird year) and started TTC just before our FOURTH wedding anniversary in August. So each month feels like a lot longer than the number that we've actually been trying. Frustrating isn't it?

Well the spotting is still holding off, I fully expected it to start properly as soon as I wrote that last message. I am now shamelessly getting my hopes up ready for a massive fall. As such I plan to pour myself a huge glass of wine in a sec just to tempt fate and get it all over with!

OP posts:
LizzyMathsWhizzy · 18/01/2011 20:43

Good luck Toria I have everything crossed on your behalf!

I'm in the same situation as both of you Imps and Toria, but not quite as long. We've been married for 2 year, but only just started trying because my oh so boring sensible hubby said I should finish my PGCE and NQT year as a teacher first, that way it is simple for maternity leave and I am a fully paid qualified teacher before a go. That way I can just walk into a job, no matter how much time I have off. God, I hate it when he's right

ToriaPumpkinHead · 18/01/2011 21:12

Lizzy I'm a year behind myself as that was our plan too, but I didn't complete my PGDE as teaching doesn't agree with me, so finding a job was a year longer than we anticipated it to be!

Thanks for the crossed fingers girls. I'm really not holding out too much hope, my boobs are no longer sore and I am certain ERTD will come tomorrow, which would put me on a 28 day cycle for the second time in a row, which is good! But, it's not over til it's over

OP posts:
TigerseyeMum · 18/01/2011 21:21

Evening, back from work.

Surprised to see there are so many Jimmy fans in tonight, he is not Mumsnet's most popular male Grin

But I reckon he is smarter than people give him credit for, and what it may appear he is saying is exactly what he's not.

I am seeing him at Reading Hexagon which is our nearest venue. But not for ages yet.

I also did a PGCE, years ago, hated teaching, left after 2 years. I think it very much depends on your school as to whether you fit or you don't.

weimy · 18/01/2011 21:36

FX toria

Sorry about ertd Lizzie

Tiger you are right about fitting in, i think my PGCE was the hardes thing I ever did :(

I am about 6dpo with no symptoms so no gossip!

CaveMum · 18/01/2011 22:20

We saw Jimmy Carr in Cambridge last October. He was very funny, but went a bit far for my taste at times. DH loved it though!

He was also very sweet after the show and stayed behind to meet and sign autographs for everyone that wanted to meet him. He was shorter than I expected - taller than me @ 5ft6 but shorter than DH at 6ft1. I was also taken aback by how [whispers] good looking he is Blush. He is now one of my "unusual" crushes!

TigerseyeMum · 18/01/2011 22:25

Cavemum I have a secret thing for Jimmy, he is a bit odd but he is clever and witty (and loaded) and I am very jealous you met him.

He is a trained psychotherapist you know, like wot I am. And a lot of what he does I can trace to that, the way he interacts with the audience, taps into something quite unconscious, plays with language and pushes boundaries to see what happens. He watches us as much as we watch him.

I would be far too embarrassed to meet him, but I have heard he stays behind at least 2 hours after every gig to sign stuff. He's lovely

CaveMum · 18/01/2011 22:35

Tiger I probably shouldn't tell you that he was hugging everyone who asked too! I was too shy but DH dived right in!

Glad I'm not the one to have spotted that "something" about him, I was starting to think I was a bit odd!
[wonders to self if his filthy sense of humour means he's filthy in "other" ways]

Wink
TomboyWife · 18/01/2011 22:35

Evening ladies!

Sorry for being AWOL. I blame the new puppy (whether it's his fault or not). DH is out tonight and I spent the first half of the evening wrangling the puppy, who wouldn't stop chewing everything in sight, and the older dog, who wouldn't stop growling (very loudly) at the puppy. Both have now worn themselves out and gone to sleep, hurrah! Grin Good practice for having kids, I suppose...

Welcome weimy and Lizzy!

Truff sorry about ERTD. Sad

Toria sorry about impending ERTD, though you never know, it might not turn up...

Like several other people on here, I watched One Born Every Minute. In fact, I've been watching all the maternity ward docu-soaps recently. I don't really know why -- they don't make me especially jealous, but watching all the screaming ladies in labour is definitely a bit off-putting. Has anyone else noticed a pattern with all of these shows? They've always got a very young couple where one or both partners is just kind of a gormless idiot. Then for contrast there's a 30-something couple who've found it hard to conceive but are utterly calm and sensible about the birth. I certainly hope DH and I are more like the calm 30-somethings as and when our time comes. We certainly fit the age requirements...

TigerseyeMum · 18/01/2011 22:43

Ooooh Tomboy puppies!!!!! Grin

Sorry for the Jimmy-Carr love-in, but OMG cuddling?????

Oh he's filthy, he is, that's for sure...in my dreams Blush

I told ya, cat on heat....

CaveMum · 18/01/2011 22:46

Of course I meant "not the ONLY one" [forehead slap]

When are you seeing him? You'll have to make sure you stay behind after the show for a grope cuddle Wink

TigerseyeMum · 18/01/2011 22:54

I'm not seeing him for 2 months, he always sells out within minutes so he added an extra date.

I'd start a Jimmy Carr Love Thread but would get flamed to death so won't bother Grin

Always happy to meet a fellow afficionado though.

There is no way I could meet him, I would curl up and die Blush
