Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

I'm here raspberry, just busy getting into arguments in AIBU Grin

CaveMum · 12/01/2011 22:03

I'm here! Been watching Dr Who myself (and thinking that Matt Smith is strangely attractive Blush).

I've been trying to stay off t'internet as much as possible over the next few days - I'll only succumb to temptation and start googling for all sorts of weird and terrible things my ultrasound might show up!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Truffkin · 12/01/2011 22:34

I've just popped in before bed time to catch up am amazed not to have more to read. Nothing interesting going on my end, am now 7DPO but no symptoms so thinking it's another 'no thanks l

Truffkin · 12/01/2011 22:37

erm, bloody phone posting! I was half way through typing a sentence! Anyway I know it's still a bit early and any budding bayble may not have even implanted yet but I can't imagine it happening. I'm convinced that I'll 'feel different' when I do get a bun in the oven and I'll 'just know' Hmm

Right, enough moping I think I might drag the old man off the X Box and off to bed for some SW/OI!

LateToTheTTCParty · 13/01/2011 08:34

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a bit but thought I'd take the plunge & say hello. Now let's see if I can get all the jargon right:

TTC #1 - I've come late to this game, I'm 37...
Cycle No. 1; UCL 26-ish; CD13 (I've been using the P Tracker app over the last year to pin things down a bit)

I've been using the First Response daily ovulation tests from CD5 and was wondering how long the LH surge is supposed to last for? This morning will be the third day I've had the 2 strong lines. Do I calculate when I ovulate after the first time I see the 2 strong lines?

Apologies if this is pretty basic stuff. DH is wondering when my demands are going to ease off, although I'm not expecting to hit the jackpot this time around (despite his assurances that he produces SuperSperm Wink). I suppose I'm in the 2ww club now?

ToriaPumpkinHead · 13/01/2011 09:14

Welcome to the madhouse LateToTheTTCParty Grin I'll add you to the list in a minute. Can't answer your questions about ov kits etc as I'm trying to keep my menkulling to a minimum and not use them!

Truff I'm enjoying "Bayble" Grin Might have to add that one to the Droiks vernacular!

I've lost track entirely of what's going on, the date, day number or how long since ovulation so planning to continue in this manner until the end of next week when I expect ERTD to turn up during a weekend long scouts event Hmm

Had a bit of a rubbish week, my colleague that lost her baby was taken into hospital with complications and her mother is now trying to blame us at work for what happened. I've spoken to my colleague directly who is saying no such thing, but what can you do? As a result I indulged in one or two drinks last night at my cub leader meeting but not enough to do or say anything stupid which is a nice change!

No SWI last night either, DP didn't have it in him apparantly therefore I don't have 'it' in me and this month's wasted, great Angry

Was so effing determined this time.

Imps7 · 13/01/2011 10:35

Well, the "symptoms" keep on coming - the last few mornings I've had rather charming gagging fits - this morning with such intensity that (tmi) a bit of wee came out! - this does not bode well for the future of my pelvic floors. And this morning I feel downright ropey - pre-ERTD cramps, but really intense, and some queasiness.

But the most convincing symptom of all?I have two pet rabbits and one of them is normally as grumpy as hell - but this morning she actually showed some affection and interest in me. Quite obviously she can sense the maternal hormones I'm giving off?a certain sign of pregnancy surely?.??!! :)

By my calculations, implantation would be happening (if it was going to happen) today or tomorrow. So I should be able to test at the weekend I would have thought.

Toria - sorry to be thick - but what does the "MI SWI A" list mean? Also, this is my first cycle, for the benefit of the list! I hope you're not upset about your colleague's mother's comments - hopefully it's just her emotions talking rather than her, IYSWIM.

Hello LatetotheTTCparty - welcome to the TWW club...you're going to hate it! (the TWW that is, not its members!)

ToriaPumpkinHead · 13/01/2011 10:51

Imps MI SWI A was one of MissFlick's abbreviations, there were a lot of girls in the list who have disappeared, or who lurk now, so she took them off the main list and created Missing In SWI Action for them Grin I'll see if anyone else wants updating and put your cycle number in either today or tomorrow Smile

Your symptoms all sound very positive! Def think the bunny knows Wink I'm having a boob month this month, lots of lovely blue veins, sore nipples and some other odd occurences revolving around colours and skin. I apparently have eight days left to menkul about it all so looking forward to that Wink

Fingerscrossed Any chance there could be some hanging around up there from previous shag cape excursions? That's my hope for this month after my nice little rant last week.

OP posts:
Imps7 · 13/01/2011 11:05

Thanks for the explanation Toria...you've reminded me of another one I don't know the meaning of - "menkul"?? (You're going to tell me that's a real word now, aren't you...?!)

ToriaPumpkinHead · 13/01/2011 11:19

Hehehe, not a real word, and I assume I'm using it correctly actually, gonna be highly embarassed if I'm not... As I understand it it's mental, menkulling = mentalling. Not a great use of the English language but makes me smile :)

We also have Droiks, which came from a typo for frollies/frolickers (I know this was recent but forget who said it?) and is slightly less fluffy so it stuck.

I've just outsmarted my postman (whose favourite trick is sticking a card through the door wihtout knocking) and taken delivery of quilting materials so am off to make a baby blanket for the pregnant lady in my life. Wish me luck!

OP posts:
LateToTheTTCParty · 13/01/2011 12:01

Thanks for the welcome ladies Smile

If I guesstimate that I ovulated 24hrs after the fisrt stick indicated my LH surge, then I suppose I'm 2 days po which still gives me opportunity! (Poor DH Grin)

The 2ww does sound like it has the potential to be horrendous - a substantial amout of time to spend calander-watching. As this is just my first cycle I hope I'll just sail through this one and my obsessiveness can kick in later!

Fingerscrossed1 · 13/01/2011 12:07

Thanks for the hug Toria

Just feel annoyed but I don't want to start feeling like this every month and it become an issue.

There could have been some hanging around from Sunday night but we'd be extremely lucky if that worked, think I must've ov'd tues or yesterday.

Good luck with the blanket. Where did you learn to do that?

CaveMum · 13/01/2011 15:14

Hello all!

Welcome to LateToTheTTCParty hope you have a nice short stay Wink

Thought I should report in from my scan:

The good news is that there was no sign of PCOS. The sonographer said that my ovaries were a normal size and there were no cysts. Hurrah!

I've now got to wait for my blood test results to come back so have another appointment booked for 21st January to discuss those with my GP.

I drank FAR too much water (they DID say 1-2 pints) so I was told to empty half my bladder - not an easy feat when you are bursting to let it all out!

The sonographer was lovely and explained everything as she went along, though didn't show me any of the pictures. When I left she said "Hope to see you soon for a different kind of scan!" Bless.

So huge sighs of relief here, I'm such a drama queen at times Blush

JosieSmith1 · 13/01/2011 15:57

Cave fab that everything's ok. The sonographer sounds lovely Smile

Not a lot going on here. Went to a training event this morning and actually enjoyed it Shock, then visited an old friend who now works in training dept and had a good chat with her. I was star pupil and allowed to leave the training early, but then ended up leaving the building after everyone else as I was chatting for so long Blush with DH sitting waiting outside for me Grin oops!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 13/01/2011 18:39

Glad to hear everything's well Cave Grin

Fingerscrossed I'm teaching myself, I've done patchwork before, and the principle of quilting is fairly simple. I've done all the long seams so far so just the fiddly bits to go, but it's the right size and shape and isn't falling to bits so I've done something right Grin

weimy · 13/01/2011 19:06

roundtable · 13/01/2011 19:31

Hi all I'm back from my lurking (although I haven't been on here for a while). Doctors went ok, she's arranged for a variety of blood tests etc. However...

not been feeling myself lately and half heartedly took a test to rule it out (I've had a virus recently that's made me feel like poo and...BFP!!!!!!

I couldn't believe, I dod not see that one coming at all. I'm very stunned at the moment and now I keep thinking about all the things that could go wrong. Not healthy. I also managed to polish of a significant amount of wine at the weekend and on Wed night as dh and I have been having a pants week, so I am racked with guilt too.

Bit worried that I've jinxed myself now as it's still very early.

Anyway that's enough of that, hello all new people and welcome and hello all regulars. Glad to hear there has been some good news on here and sorry to hear of the bad.

raspberrytipple · 13/01/2011 20:29

wow congratulations Roundtable!!!! Just goes to show - when you least expect it and all that! Hope everything goes well for you and don't worry about all the naughty things, people go for a lot longer before they realise they are pregnant than you have and there has been a perfectly healthy baybee at the end of it. Just enjoy your BFP xx

TomboyWife · 13/01/2011 20:45

Congrats roundtable! Grin

weimy · 13/01/2011 20:54

CaveMum · 13/01/2011 21:00
