Boo to ERTD!!! She arrived here today! Still only 9 day lp :(
Quick hi to everyone!! I'm still hovering and hoping for a run of BFP's! :)

Had a call from my consultant (well his secretary really) yesterday. Having not heard anything after the biopsy they did at the beginning of December I thought all must be good but apparently not, so I've got an appointment next week to discuss plans of action. It's rubbish timing because I'm just getting into the fun bit this cycle, but without knowing what's going to be said I don't know whether I should be ttc-ing Sad

TomboyWife · 08/01/2011 10:25

Morning ladies!

Karstan eek, that sounds quite stressful and not fun at all! I hope your appointment goes well and that whatever's wrong is sorted out very quickly.

Crazy hooray for starting your job despite your rubbish ex head! Good luck on Monday, though I'm sure you won't need it. Grin

Commiserations and large glasses of wine to those whom ERTD has got. I suspect I'm about to join you as the cramps are still a-crampin' and I have that tell-tale heavy feeling that means ERTD is imminent.

JosieSmith1 · 08/01/2011 11:15

ERTD arrived 2day but as it means I can continue 2 ride and start gettin horsey fit again, and have a drink 4 DH's birthday 2nite I suppose I don't really mind (or so I keep tellin myself). Gonna really really try next time

Karstan hope ur meetin goes well and u get some answers

Poo 2 ERTD arriving Tomboy

weimy · 08/01/2011 16:40

Sorry about ERTD guys :(

Josie I said the same about horseriding when it got me last week! I am just learning how to jump and stuff so that was my consolation :)

Thinking of you Karstan

raspberrytipple · 08/01/2011 22:01

Evening all,

weimy impressed with you learning to jump on the gee gees, it scares the hell out of me and I don't know why, I could gallop all day given half a chance. I think I need to ride more but will just be too busy this summer to get into it. Thought about buying a horse last summer as could keep it with DPs parents but just wouldnt be fair as dont have the time to ride properly Sad

Sorry to hear ERTD arrived today Josie but at least you have some drinks to get down you tonight Grin

tomboy I'm in the same boat as you, ERTD hasn't arrived but I know it's on its way :( Have been drinking most nights though so probably for the best!

Truffkin I too dream of maternity leave on bad days, how I'll be the perfect SAHM, dinner on the table for DH, house spotless and perfect little baby playing on the mat in front of the fire in his little white bonnet. Ha, yeah right, house would be a tip and I'd be a nightmare but it'd be worth it for the time off!!! Grin

Hey Impers & welcome. We've (well I've) told quite a few people we are trying but I have a small circle of friends who are all trying or have children/have had mc so understand the situation. I am very lucky with the people I am surrounded by, my family know too and the expectation from everone else who doesnt already know that I will pop one straight out after the wedding in August is very great! You are in good company though xx

karstan big hugs hun, you poor thing. Hope you get some positive news when you go to the consultant with some way forward whatever the problem is they may have found. xx

crazy well done getting the job sorted, you must be relieved hun xx

Hello Cavey, Kaloki, Evil and toria
as well as any other lurkers

So, today I tried on my first weddings dresses with my mum. It was awesome. AND..... I fell in love with one dress. I pulled out about 7 of all different shapes and sizes and saw this dress and thought .... ah, Ill try it cos its a different shape and material, showed it to mum and she said 'ugghhh no leave it love, its odd' but I left it in the pile. So I try on all the other 'gown' type dresses and they were lovely, then came the 'ugghhh' dress. The woman tied the ribbon around my waste and OH MY GOD. It was beautiful, like some sort of 1950s beautiful, quirky simple 'run through the corn fields in the setting sun kind of way. Sooooo....despite the fact that I am spending the next two weeks trying dresses on with friends,, I have bought it. She knocked £200 off it in the sale and she is giving me the fittings and adjustments for free. Me and mum have made it our secret. I've told people I have found a fave but now I have a dilemma because my brothers friend has a bridal shop and has offered to do me a good deal but the trouble is her dresses start at £1k upwards! Anyway, nevermind, I am uber excited now.

When I was stood on the box with the dress on for the third time having tried ones on in between Mum was looking all misty eyed and I just looked at the woman and said 'what if i might have a baby bump in August'. She said it should be ok. The dress is lined in lace but she said they could alter it to fit a bump of any size. I nearly burst into tears I was so pleased!!!! Grin

Apols to all those I may have missed. I am totally knackered, its been an emotional day, never thought I'd feel like this.

Sorry for the uber post Grin

Impers I wasn't sure what cycle you were on (how many you've been TTCing for) so left it blank.

I spent to day packing up at the flat, still don't know where we'll be living after Feb. So still stuck at the MIL's for now. Which is making timing SWI interesting Confused

CaveMum · 09/01/2011 09:12

Morning ladies, a big fat BOOOO! for ERTD spoiling the New Year fun.

raspberry how exciting about yuor dress! I had EXACTLY the same happen to me when I found mine - I told myself I wanted a plain dress (no bling) and definitely not strapless! We pulled out about 12 dresses, including a couple that I thought looked, to be honest, awful, on the hanger, but the lady in the shop insisted and said that at least I could say I tried on lots of different styles. As you can guess, one of the dresses I didn't like on the hanger ended up being "the one", and it was totally the opposite to what I had intended - bling AND strapless Grin. My lovely MoH (PinkLady, who seems to have disappeared from this thread!) said when I put it on I glowed and we all tear-ed up!

To be totally self-indulgent this was my dress

Josie, sorry again about ERTD. Are you planning on competing on horsey this year, or does she just need to get a bit fitter in general? Wink

weimy hope the lessons are going well - so nice to have lots of horsey people around here! I've never been the most confident jumper in the world - if I know the horse I am riding will jump I am fine, but stick me on something that is a git likely to try to run out or put in a dirty stop and I lose my confidence. To be honest I haven't even sat on a horse for about 18 months - insane when you consider that I live in the most densley populated horsey area in the country!!!!

I came close to getting a horse 18 months ago - there is a racehorse rehoming centre in town (for obvious reasons) and you can pick up a retrained ex-racehorse for £115! However, common sense kicked in and I realised, at the moment at least, that an ex-racehorse is not the best option for me! I need a confidence-giver for now.

I've always said to DH, that when if we win the lottery I want to set up a centre to train horses for films - teach them to do tricks and the like! Sounds silly to say, but I've always loved working with horses from the ground and experimenting with Monty Roberts methods, etc!

Right, I've waffled on QUITE enough now!

Enjoy your Sunday's and I will let you know how tomorrows Drs appointment goes. I suspect she will just refer me to the hospital for blood tests for now so it will take a few days to get results back.

P.S. well done on the job "Crazy* Grin

raspberrytipple · 09/01/2011 09:20

Wow Cavey that is a beautiful dress. See, I've done the opposite, I love that dress and tried a few similar to it on thinking that is what I would want, they all looked gorgeous on but I just didnt feel comfortable and when I tried on mine it was the perfect effect, its lace all over and very slinky, not very traditional at all. Im so excited now I can barely sleep! Hoping I'll calm down in the next few days or god help me until august!

I've also just asked for the below advice in the wedding section - any advice from you girls would be very welcome too!

We are getting married at 3.30 p.m. with 36 people at our local town hall, we will be done by 3.50 at the latest, we'll have some photos on the steps then make our way to the reception at my parents (marquee in the garden). We'll get home, have some fizz, so say at about 4.30 p.m. then we are going to cut the cake, speeches etc so we dont have to do it in front of too many people. The wedding is a Friday afternoon and as we are not doing a sit down meal, I'm wondering what time to set the buffet out from as we will have people coming a little later on. Do you think 6.00 p.m. would be fine to set the buffet out, we could then tell people to arrive from 5.30 p.m. obviously knowing that not everyone finishes work early enough to get there for 5.30! but it really is supposed to be a very relaxed/informal garden party so 6.00 p.m. for buffet would be 2 and a half hrs after the ceremony (games on the garden if it's dry or mingling if wet in between the speeches etc just not sure on timings...... thought about leaving some nibbles on tables for people to have when we get back rather than do canapes.... any ideas or do you think 6.00 p.m would be ok?

CaveMum · 09/01/2011 09:34

Ta raspberry, it wasn't what I was looking for either but it just felt right when I put it on!

I think 6pm would be fine for the buffet. As your ceremony is mid-afternoon people will have eaten lunch before coming, so it is not as if they will have to wait hours (as I have done at some weddings!) for something to eat. If you put "Buffet at 6pm" on the invitations and, as you say, leave a few nibbles out (best to help soak up the alcohol!) they will be fine!

If you wanted something a bit more substantial you can always try somewhere like Marks & Spencer as they do a good canapes service, and will be cheaper than a caterer - here

Waitrose offer a similar service, and neither seem to be too expensive more here

The best bit of advice I can give you for wedding planning is DO IT YOUR WAY! There will always be someone who will tell you "don't do that, do this" or "you must invite great-auntie Gladys" - stick to your guns. It is your, and DP's, day.

Lecture over!

Impers7 · 09/01/2011 10:04

Hello

Kaloki thanks for wanting to add me to the list - this is the first cycle we've been ttc. I'm 28 days into the cycle (it's normally 35 days) - that's as far as I go with the counting!

The shameless symptom-spotting has started! Hopefully as I get more used to this I won't be obsessing over every twinge and every slightly tender nipple!

The wedding plans sound exciting. I had a dream last night that my mother decided that OH and I should get married (nothing new there) and he bought me this horrible ring for me to open on my birthday. I told him that I didn't want to get married, but if he got a better ring I may think about it! I'm not that much of a cow in real life, honest!

Have a good rest of the weekend!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 09/01/2011 20:45

Evening ladies! I am back from the depths of Kent and once again free to mumsnet and symptom spot to my heart's content Grin

First up, welcome Impers We're not all completely mad, hopefully you'll be with us for as short a time as possible (in a nice way!)

Raspberry Your dress sounds lush! I was much like Cavey, I HATED my dress on the hanger, but once I put it on couldn't take it off. If we're doing shameless flaunting... It's me...Hooray! I also didn't want a veil, no train, only minimal colour... Also think your timings sound perfect, we were married at 3, served drinks while the photos were being taken and sat down at 6 for a sit down buffet.

Cavey Your dress is also lovely Grin

Karstan How rubbish that you're still waiting for news, fingers crossed it's something manageable and things go smoothly from here.

Kaloki You have my deepest sympathies, the ere thought of having to live with the MIL fills me with dread, just staying with her for a few days has done irreperable damage to my teeth!

Biscuits and wine for all those whom ERTD has got.

In my news, I may have casually said to OH that I thought I might be ovulating and he has been dilligent about SWI ever since, despite being in first a friend of his parents' spare room and then back in our own bed with his brother the other side of the paper-thin wall. So he is forgiven. I am sticking with Tigers advice that before is better anyway Grin As I'm now onto day 17 (18?) I am shamelessly symptom spotting, and actually, my boobs are all weird. Veiny and my nipples are bright pink. A sign? Wink

Enjoying the last few glasses of wine before back on the detox tomorrow. As an aside, several people came up to me on Friday and commented on my weight loss, so the detox must be doing some good! OH is ironing his shirts for work and I've just ordered a load of supplies to make a baby blanket for the previously mentioned pregnant lady and her spawn. I can't help it, the things are all so cute! Have a good Sunday night ladies.

Boooo, BFN with FRER today. I will POAS again if AF doesn't arrive at the weekend, but I'm not expecting the result to be any different.

But I honestly do feel different this month! Amazing what tricks the mind can play on you isn't it?!

Toria - the photo of you in your wedding dress is gorgeous!

Oh, I've changed my nn from Impers to Imps just because it's a bit quicker to type!

JosieSmith1 · 10/01/2011 13:40

Raspberry your dress sounds gorgeous! And yay that it can be amended for a bump! I picked the first wedding dress I saw but it suited me perfectly, was very simple and elegant. When my cousin got hers a few years ago we went to a bridal shop and as she was looking at them one fell off the hanger. She couldn?t put it back on so draped it over a chair, then later decided to try it on, and it turned out to be the perfect dress for her! It was meant to be! I have to agree with Cavemum on the buffet, 6pm sounds fine with nibbles beforehand, and stick to what you want. We ended up with both our parent?s deciding they were having people back to theirs after the ceremony (none of which was agreed with DH and I) so when we told them people were coming back to ours they were most put out! We hadn?t asked them to host the reception at either house so it was their faults for not running things by us first.

CaveMum I might do some really small jumping comps but mainly just want her fit enough to go away for some pleasure rides. And she has arthritis so the more exercise she gets the better for her. You wouldn?t like my horse, I had to teach her to jump but she?s not very confident and tends to put in dirty stops, not fun! I?m sticking to about 2ft with her now, doubt we?ll get any bigger but that?s fine for me. Your dress is gorgeous by the way!

PMSL Impers, I have funny dreams too. In the last one I had been kidnapped and DH came and rescued me Hmm. I symptom spot like crazy too!

Welcome back Toria, good on you for the SWI under difficult circumstances Grin

CaveMum · 10/01/2011 13:58

Imps don't give up just yet, several Frolickers have had false negative tests before getting a BFP.

Early response tests aren't actually that reliable. There are stats floating around on here that are quite shocking. Even as little as 3 or 4 days before your period is due they are only about 60% accurate. As frustrating as it is, you really are best off waiting until your period is late.

Lecture over Grin

Off to my Drs appointment at 3pm so i'll pop back and let you all know how it went later on.

Imps7 · 10/01/2011 14:02

Cavemum you're completely right of course, I was just getting too eager is it's my first cycle! I think I will avoid FRER in future - not least because they're so blimin' expensive compared to the others!

Hi All

Cavemum Josie & Raspberry I helped out a friend yesterday who has part loan and I think next year I might try to find a two day loan of a nice gentle cob? I enjoyed myself so much!I suppose everything depends on what happens this year Confused

The jumps I do are very small and luckily I have not come off yet although I know what you mean about them suddenly stopping or swerving it knocks your confidence for the next go!

I am swi every other day and might be due to ov this week on cd 10 at the mo, I am trying to do the charting but to be honest am confused about what the temping means.

Of out to second job now!!! :(

Fingerscrossed1 · 10/01/2011 15:34

Hi peeps Smile

raspberry very, very exciting about your wedding!

Toria I couldn't see your picture of you in your wedding dress, don't know why, it was just blank.

Getting to crucial part of cycle so the SWIing has started in earnest. I've even had my legs in the air for a good few minutes after the deed this time round...how undignified but I am determined

Also, I know this is TMI but I have found that both times I've done this, what went up has not come back down Blush I wonder where it goes?!
