Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

roundtable that sounds positive! I have the meeting tomorrow, Im not a very confident person and bad things being said about me really upset me, but I just hope that once they look at my file all I need is encouragement, which I never got from my ex head, If they dont take me on I shall do all that I can to rid myself of that reference!

TomboyWife · 05/01/2011 18:32

Good luck Alien! I'm sure it will all turn out fine.

raspberrytipple · 05/01/2011 18:55

Evening all,

Haven't caught up properly for a while and I can't do tonight as I have to take down the tree :(

Anyways, we are now out of the closet wedding wise and everyone is very happy :) although future hubby is a bit like a rabbit caught in headlights. Going to try dresses on Saturday just for a laugh. Probably going to get one from monsoon or debenhams in the end but will be fun messing around!!!

Congrats Slow hope you are getting on ok xx

Goodluck Crazy, hope it all works out ok for you.

Just to add to the 'people mentioning asking when we are going to have babies' conversation - I am just going to keep my trap shut and then after the wedding say 'yeah well, what will happen will happen'!
People can be very insensitive though.

I couldn't help myself last night, I went on to Bridal Bumps website and looked at preggers dresses. I have to say I thought the brides and their bumps looked amazing, I would love to have our baby in my tummy at our wedding, it would just be perfect :) and to be honest I've never been able to get excited about dresses, I don't like proper big bridal gowns so something nice and summery would be perfect and all the better with a big fat pregnant belly underneath!!!

Hello to everyone else! I will check back in on the weekend and have a proper catch up unless I get a bfp before then. Due to test Friday but I have some cheapies so might get one in tomorrow, no symptoms though :(

Until then xxx

JosieSmith1 · 05/01/2011 22:13

evening all

In need of a serious kippering here! Have totally convinced myself I'm pg and have let my imagination run away with me!

I'm gonna b devastated if ERTD arrives at weekend Sad but my head won't listen!

Truffkin · 05/01/2011 23:40

Happy to help Josie so a big slap with this large, wet haddock Grin it's hard not to get carried away though and I'll be trying the same myself in a couple of weeks!

Raspberry so exciting hearing about your planning. I was convinced I wanted plain and simple but ended up with the hugest dress you've ever laid eyes on! It would be very cute to have your bump there though, fingers crossed.

Crazy hope your meeting goes well tomorrow, do pop in to let us know.

CaveMum · 06/01/2011 07:17

Stopping by to give Josie a big ol' slap too!
If EETD is due this weekend try to hold out until Saturday till testing. Early testing has too high a risk of a false negative (even with the "early" response tests only about 70% of women will get an accurate result at 11-14 dpo). If you are pregnant now you'll jus be more pregnant by the weekend [skewed thinking emoticion] Grin

Crazy hope your meeting goes well today.

Wish me luck tonight ladies, I've got my first salsa class of the year tonight. I really need the numbers to pick up or I'm going to have to give it up as it is not worth the time and effort for so little money!

JosieSmith1 · 06/01/2011 08:37

Fingers crossed CaveMum, I know lots of people who are trying to get healthier this year and salsa is a really good exercise I would imagine so hopefully there'll be loads of people coming to your class.

Truff I will be happy to slap you back in a couple of weeks if you need it Grin

Raspberry baby bump in a wedding dress sounds really cute! I'm hoping to be a slightly pg bridesmaid for my friend in July (if I'm pg now I'd be 6 months gone then so just a nice size Grin)

My best mate told me she is planning on TTCing in September. If she gets pg before me I might cry.

Thanks for the kippering Grin. I know if I test I'll get a BFN as every time I've been this convinced I've been wrong so I'm waiting until sunday as ERTD has once come on day 29 (saturday) so it could arrive saturday (this is the plan anyway, it might not work out this way!)

CrazyAlien · 06/01/2011 10:17

Thanks for the luck ladies :D

The meeting is in an hour so just prepping my evidence and trying to stop shaking with nerves! Hopefully they will have faith in me and give me a chance. I am an NQT so still developing....

x

ToriaPumpkinHead · 06/01/2011 10:23

Just here to vent ladies, currently muchos South and so have limited access to the net. In a foul mood though and need to be stopped from taking it out on OH as it's his nan's funeral tomorrow and we're staying with family friends. Despite his agreeing to SWI every other day for the first half of the month he has been having none of it the last two days, when I appear to have actually been ovulating. I may well kill him dead. Trying to be reasonable, he has a lot on blah blah blah but I'm just so bloody angry! Every month we have this conversation and every month he says unless I tell him specifically when it is he doesn't know, but then when I tell him he asks if I'm sure and makes out I'm taking the fun out of it. I really think I might kill him this time... Holding on in vain to the hope that doing it a day or two before is a better time.

Ok. Venting over with and he's just appeared in the room and is reading over my shoulder. Will try and get back this weekend when I'm on my own computer! Fingers crossed for those coming up to testing time xxx

JosieSmith1 · 06/01/2011 11:17

I've had the same problem with my DH and it's not totally sorted tbh. If he's anything like my DH I sat him down and explained how there's a small window of opportunity and if you don't take it, you'll regret it when ERTD arrives. I asked him if he sees how upset I get when it hasn't happened again and so does he see why I get so angry about it when the time for SWI is right.

Hope you can have a chat with him and get things sorted, it's really difficult when you're on a short timescale and can't afford to wait

TomboyWife · 06/01/2011 12:35

Afternoon ladies!

Crazy let us know how it went. Fingers crossed for you!

Toria I've been there, in a slightly different way, with my DH as well. I think it's a very common problem. In our case, if I explicitly tell DH that the time is right for SWI, he finds it stressful and unromantic and has trouble getting into it. It's like a catch-22: the more important he knows it is, the less successful it is. So I don't tell him any more, I just jump him. In his case, it's a very rare day when he can't be bothered, so just jumping him usually works fine.

Josie I'm picking up a haddock as well. No POASing until the weekend! Grin

Well, CD28 here, cramps-a-go-go, but no ERTD. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this cycle was anovulatory, what with being ill and the stress of having our Christmas plans scuppered. Give it a few more days and see what happens, I guess.

JosieSmith1 · 06/01/2011 13:13

Good luck Tomboy! Fingers crossed. Have a haddock Grin

weimy · 06/01/2011 18:16

Hi all!

crazy have been thinking of you and hope all is well your NQT year is hard enough without all this crap :(

Well I am cd6 and my thermom and peesticks have just arrived so I am going to start charting tomorrow to see if I can get a handle on when i ovulate. But starting last night will swi every other day if pos.

At work or when family meet up I have been asked about babies, in mid 30s and have been married nearly ten years now. I have three dogs so usually say I prefer dogs to children, people have stopped asking now.

Have stupidly been on the baby name part of the site and shortlisting namesBlush, need
to be hit with a wet fish!!!!

hope you are all well xxx

evilgiraffe · 06/01/2011 22:03

Hey all, sorry for long absence. Just updating my stats - this is me right now:

evilgiraffe TTC#1, Cycle 5, UCL 29, CD11

Had a longer than usual cycle through December, just enough to start getting hopeful despite the fact that fertility friend said I hadn't ovulated. Then ERTD turned up. Oh well. At least now we're having a "going to be good" new year, with considerably less drinking, more sensible eating, and more exercise.

Am trying not to feel depressed because it's now a full year since I came off the pill. My cycles didn't start again until August though, so it's not really been that long. Still not very encouraging though. :(

Congrats to all the BFPs in my absence, and good luck and chin up to everyone else! Grin

Truffkin · 06/01/2011 22:52

Hi frolickers, Crazy how did your meeting go today? Let us know chick.

Josie am really hoping for you, maybe January is our month to win?!

Toria am sorry you're feeling so Angry especially at such a tough time for you both. I've had months when I was cross that we didn't 'try harder' but it is actually better to SWI the day before OV rather than on the day, so the swimmers have time to get in position Grin Hope you can get the next few days over with then have a good chat about why you feel frustratef

Hi Giraffe nice to see you. Good luck with the new year health resolution. I said I wanted to put my (so far wasted!) gym membership to good use but haven't been so far, yet am working my way through the Christmas chocs selection!!

I think I OVed yesterday and our SWI timing was good if I'm right so here goes another 2 weeks of wondering! ERTD is due on the day I go to Hoar Cross Hall for a spa break so that would be pretty rubbish timing. Although, I would at least be able to drown my sprrows and then melt away my hangover with a massage a jacuzzi Grin

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 08:12

No sign of ERTD this morning BUT...

my temps have dropped Sad. I haven't been charting but have done my temp a couple of times this week and it's been high, this morning has gone down to close to where it usually is at beginning of cycle. I am very very disappointed and accidentally threw a hissy fit with DH this morning because he'd put his money on top of the pizza boxes last night Blush. Sitting at my desk now, almost feel like crying. Last night I let myself imagine what it would be like to tell everyone, and imagined actually having a baby and introducing it to everyone. I haven't done that since I first started TTCing in June and now I remember why I stopped letting myself do it.

Anyway, enough moping, once ERTD arrives I will have a good drink and drown my sorrows Grin

Sorry you're feeling depressed Giraffe (hugs)

Hope the 2ww flies past Truff

CrazyAlien · 07/01/2011 11:32

Truffkin Meeting went fine! As soon as they spoke to me they knew that it was a bit odd to get one good reference and another that wasnt so good!
I am now starting this Monday as maternity leave lady is struggling, I am so scared! straight into teaching my new class, with no plans ( hopefully will get them this weekend ) and also no idea of how the school day runs! I could strangle my ex head as thanks to her crap reference I missed out on going to the school this week and getting to know the children and the school etc.

The school seem very supportive and I think that once I get the hang of it all I shall be ok :) Saying that I have to teach swimming next week! lol hmmmmmm that will be fun!

Anyone up to anything exciting this weekend? I am off to my first ever baby shower tonight! I should be told my AMH results any min , am waiting for my designated time slot call! So wonder what those results will bring.....

I have no idea what to expect with this baby shower thingy tonight! Any ideas? I am trying to contain my emotions and block out my own TTC issues, but I am wondering when the inevitable question arises - when are you having kiddies? what to say!

x

Crazy that's fab news,. Shame you missed the first week but as you say once you get the hang of it you'll be fine.

Kaloki poo for ERTD but yippee for it arriving when predicted. (By the way, I'm on CD28, I can copy and paste the list if you want, is that just how you do it?)

KalokiMallow · 07/01/2011 13:30

Yep, copy and paste is the easiest way. :)

Impers7 · 07/01/2011 13:32

Hello

Do you mind if I join your thread? I'm a newbie on MN. OH and I are ttc our first. So far, not going well - he's been working very late nights!

AF is due 15 Jan (usually have 35 day cycle) and am fully expecting it to arrive due to low levels of BD!

It feels very odd to have this new "status" of ttc. We are keeping our decision very quiet (in fact everyone thinks that we don't want to have children!) just to avoid irritating/awkward conversations with others if it doesn't happen for us.

I probably won't have the opportunity to post very often on here - but will keep up to date with the news - it's nice to be able to share highs/lows/feelings/emotions with people who are in the same boat.

Wishing you all the best,

Impers7

CaveMum · 07/01/2011 13:41

Well done Crazy! So glad you've sorted the job out. And covering maternity leave eh?! Fingers crossed it's catching Wink.

Welcome Impers I hope your stay with us is nice and short, in the nicest way possible!
DH and I have kept out TTC under wraps too - only 2 close friends know, no family. We decided it would be too much pressure to have people constantly questioning how things are going, etc. I'm really glad that we've kept it to ourselves as we're still waiting to actually start being able to start ttc due to my current never-ending-cycle - 6 months and counting!!!!!

Happy weekend everyone!

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 13:46

Oops, sorry Kaloki, I am on day 29 Blush

Welcome Impers, yes it's nice to be able to share the highs and lows. We've kept it a secret too, same as CaveMum, just a couple of close friends.

Truffkin · 07/01/2011 16:57

Hi Frolickers

Sorry you are having a bad day Josie but remember it's not over yet. If ERTD does arrive, I hope you can enjoy a good drink to drown your sorrows.

Crazy I'm so glad it went well and it has turned out brilliantly for you. I am sure you will be fine as sometimes being thrown in at the deep end (no swimming pun intended Blush ) is for the best.

Hi there Kaloki and boo to ERTD but yay for predictability! I always take that as my silver lining as early ERTD is a horrible surprise and the late ones just mess with your head Grin

to everyone else. It's finally Friday ladies, I thought this week would never end! I think I got far too used to being off over Christmas and now need to get back in the routine properly. Oh how I long for a plan of maternity leave!

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 18:30

Truff I always think of maternity leave wen I'm sick of work Grin

The fat lady is warmin up her vocal chords I think Sad suddenly thought I'd made a big mistake with temps but no, I was right, it's dropped. Will keep u updated though as ERTD is usually here by now
