I tried to think of something amusing to start this post with and failed, so am just going to launch into moaning - feel free to stop reading here.

I spoke to my mother last night. Ever since we got married she's studiously avoided mentioning babies and things around me in order to not put any pressure on us, which is great if it does make for random conversations sometimes. But last night she decided I needed to know that someone I once vaguely knew a long time ago has just had a mc, and then went off into a monologue about 'people I have known have mcs and how they coped'. And then went on to tell me how my aunt has been telling my cousins that she doesn't want to be a grandmother until she's 60 but Mum doesn't think they'll wait that long.

And I just wanted to say 'this really isn't a conversation I want to be having'. But of course I didn't, because that would make it an issue and she's the last person I want to be discussing ttc with. Grrrrr. I did wonder whether she was trying to create an opening for me to tell her something, but what she expected me to say I have no idea.

In other news does anyone want to pretend to be me and go on a course tonight so I can go to sleep watching the last 2 episodes of Spooks? Nope? Oh well, it was worth a try....

Poor Occy - what a nightmare conversation. TTC conversations with ones mother are by their very nature awful because it means you are discussing Secs. And my mother can't refer to sex without pursing her lips or making sarcastic jibes. She's very repressed, needless to add.

Ocarina what a truly sad-making conversation to have . Do you think it would be worth having on - just ONE! - frank chat with her, so that she knows not to do this stuff again? Mothers, unless truly hellish, do tend to try in their own clumsy way to help. One day that will be us - ALL of us .

In other news I just watched my first ever episode of Spooks. OMFG it's AMAZE!!!111!!1!!1 Lucas is hot and so is the slightly plump blonde girl he is clearly going to end up boffing on Harry's desk by the end of the series
