If you want a really good laugh, you can do no better than Simon's Cat in my humble opinion.

The latest animation "In The Box" could be about my cat!

Love it!

felicityFlick · 26/08/2010 14:16

Oh I love Simon's cat too! Right, am off to bed. See yous all in the morning xx

crazybutterflylady · 26/08/2010 15:56

Hello hello... hope you're all having a good day!

Just popping in to say hi and bye... off to the theatre to see War Horse tonight. Has anyone seen it? Apparently I need kleenex!! And we managed to get a sneaky table at the Ivy which I'm quite looking forward to as we've never been, we kept saying we should have a go but never got round to it until now.

I think we have given up on the SWI for now, it's too exhausting!! I have no idea whether I am due to OV or already have so if FERTD comes this month I shall be investing in the CBFM because I am not sure I can do this every month. I feel like Mr Crazy is feeling like he is just a source of swimmers atm :( not very nice... so anything that can avoid that will be a good thing in my book!

Sorry for the mememe post but am in a dash, will check in lots tomorrow as he is off to the cricket!

Have a lovely evening everyone and enjoy Mistresses! I have it on record, can't wait to enjoy it with a latte in the morning :)

xx

crazybutterflylady · 26/08/2010 15:57

PS Lanky are you gearing yourself up for YOUR month next month... i think it was you who bagsied starting the new thread?!!

Grin
CaveMum · 26/08/2010 17:48

crazy enjoy War Horse, I'm told it's amazing but you'll definitely need tissues.
I've seen the puppet and it is amazingly life-like. They did a piece on it on Channel4 racing earlier this year and introduced a real horse to the puppet. The horse started blowing up the puppet's "nostrils" and treating it like a real horse!

I can't wait for the film (due out next year) with the swoon-some Benedict Cumerbatch!

Toriajayne · 26/08/2010 18:04

Lanky and Josie, thanks girls, I'm managing to put tesing to the back of my mind a bit now, so Flick your theory makes sense to me! :D

Dessie there are in fact pregnant women everywhere, in fact today I had a minor strop when unpacking the delivery because even fecking Willow Tree have a pregnant figurine now

dayz I am in a similar position, we use some very powerful solvents so I would have to tell work as soon as I found out I was pregnant anyway so have told one of my managers and one of my fellow minions we're trying so that there is always someone to cover for me if it needs doing. Both already have children so understand my worries.

Now for a little rant that I shall keep as short and sweet as possible as I'm getting sick of people in RL making me feel like I'm being self absorbed, and I know some of you lovely ladies have been trying far longer than me so don't want to ake anyone feel bad. But. Just because we have only just started trying does not mean I have not ached for this for years, we have friends with a son who will be two in december, the same friends who are expecting another baby in April-ish. Before he was even conceived I wanted a child more than I could explain, the day I told my best friend she was pregnant she looked at me, asked if I was ok and bought me a very fattening hot chocolate. So stop telling me I have plenty of time, yes I'm "only" in my mid-twenties but I've wanted this since I was in my very early twenties so am now somewhat impatient and sick of hearing your platitudes, you know nothing of my family's medical background, of the miscarriages, the molar pregnancies and the infertility issues that have plagued my aunts and cousins and I might not have plenty of time for all you know. Bah. And I also know there are not a finite number of babies in the world and that I could be wrong and conceive next week for all I know about anything, but this is my issue, please allow me to go insane over it.

Sorry, just needed to get that out, luckily for me OH has now come to my side of the fence and seems to want one as much as I do so when I threw a paddy about the aforementioned friends having their second he just gave me a hug and a biscuit lol. As you were :)

TomboyWife · 26/08/2010 19:09

Evening ladies!

Toria if you can't rant about broodiness here, I don't know where you can! Rant away, we've all been there.

I've got a question about EWCM. Is it possible to ovulate without having any? I'm on CD17 or so, and this is going to sound bonkers I'm feeling rather luteal at the moment. No, I can't explain in concrete terms what "feeling luteal" means. I just feel like my body's changed gears and is now doing the second half of the monthly routine. So, could I have ovulated but just not done the mucus part? (TMI, sorry. Blush )

highheelsandequations · 26/08/2010 19:23

Hi everyone,

Tonight has so far involved no attacks by wardrobes so feeling a lots better, although I have had a splitting headache today, not good :( Still tomorrow it is FRIDAY, which makes everything better. Have now managed four days completely caffeine free, feeling quite proud of myself. Now just need to give up the vino, think that'll be harder!

Flick I'm not a total health freak, honest! I have to watch what I eat as I have IBS so if I eat junk I tend to suffer for it. Saying that, weekends are definitely when I allow myself treats, and I'm finding it more difficult getting back into my food regime after the summer holidays (6 weeks of pure gluttony!) Thanks for the class advice, we have tracking interviews coming up so will have chance then to speak to everyone individualy, plus have threatened to send letters home to parents next week for anyone who's still annoying me!

QueenCavey thanks for the list of potions herbs to avoid. Will now start obsessively checking teabag labels, another part of the madness! The weather here has also been terrible today, torrential rain and not very warm.

Dayz make sure your pee sticks don't take up too much valuable suitcase space!

Lanky thanks for the sympathy. I know exactly what you mean about groundhog day. Do you also get the feeling that you're just getting through the week doing chore after chore just wishing the days away till the weekend, which of course flies by. Love the makeup in the dark! I usually get dressed in the dark in winter so as not to disturb DP, have been lucky so far and worst case was a slightly clashing skirt and top. I did have a colleague that managed to come in wearing odd shoes once though.

Josie are you so exited about getting the baby stuff? I would be, although might be slightly terrified as well.

Womanly glad the clomid seems to be going okay for you. I have also been fantasising pregnancy symptoms during FERTD this month, was almost tempted to POAS today, feel completely insane!

Garden thanks for the tea and sympathy. Glad your DHs birthday seems quite straightforward to organise.

Trying glad you're now, ahem, ready for action Wink

Truffkin, maybe it's a good sign, there could be something in the water in your department? Definitely can't make it a reason to stop trying though, it's not your fault everyone's up the duff. Hope you have a fab night out.

Steg hope the guide camp wasn'/isn't too stressful. I went on a residential weekend with first year before the holidays and don't think I've ever had a more stressful and sleep deprived holiday.

Crazy hope you have a wonderful evening.

Toria you can't help what you feel. That's why we're here for you to rant at.

Need to head off now as we're off out tonight, just the pictures, not as exciting as dinner at the ivy. Wondering if I can justify popcorn after I've already had a mini fru cheesecake (yummy but very very mini, could have eaten 4 of them!) and I skipped the gym because of terrible headache. Hmm, feeling guilty now.

felicityFlick · 27/08/2010 04:12

Morning all,

Nothing but a BFN to report here :( I didn't expect to be so sad about it but I was and I even had a little cry Blush Lovely Mr.F was shocked and said he 'had a feeling' that it would be positive which of course made me cry more. He then tried to look on the bright side by saying 'well it says it's only 99% accurate' Grin bless his man logic!

I think I was/am so upset because I am dreading my cycle being all messed up and ERTD going AWOL again because of the time differences like last month.

However, thanks to my lovely CBFM I know I ovulated on day 20 so if ERTD is not here in a few days and tests are still showing BFNs I will go to the doctors. I know that ovulation can be delayed but as far as I am aware from my extensive research (!) your luteal phase should only vary by a day or two and is usually the same length- am I right? My luteal phase is usually 18 days so FERTD should have arrived this morning.

Anyway, sorry for the moan and the me, me, me post- here is the list:

Hi flick, wanted to check on you before I go for a jog in the rain... very sorry for the bfn. Since you are due today for fertd, could it be that you have poas a bit early? Hang in there, I know its not easy. Fingers crossed and am hopeful still for u this cycle.

CaveMum · 27/08/2010 06:55

Good morning all.

Flick very sorry to hear about your negative result. I don't want to get your hopes up too much, but as we discovered last time with MrsWajs it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

highheels hope you enjoyed the cinema. What did you see?

crazy how was The Ivy and War Horse?

I've got a busy day today and then we're off to stay with friends tonight so it could be a few days before I'm back on again. Have a good weekend everyone.

highheelsandequations · 27/08/2010 07:55

Morning girls.
Sorry about the bfn flick, but as has already been mentioned, it ain't over yet. Think you're right about the luteal phase staying the same length, so fingers crossed for you that FERTD stays away.
Pictures was good, thanks for asking queenie. We saw salt which was silly but good, and we sat in the posh seats, and i got popcorn and wine!
Right, 6 more classes then the week is over! Happy fridays all!

roamfree · 27/08/2010 08:21

Hi all,
Mind if I hop aboard? Oh no, wait - this is one of the few threads that doesn't have some kind of transport-related metaphor in the title! Rather - can I mix myself a very strong cocktail, please?!

So, a very quick intro. Just convinced DH that we should TTC as of September, but coincidentally we ran out of condoms a couple of weeks ago (I came off the pill a while ago as it didn't agree with me). We only did the deed once at the right time of my cycle without contraception, but I have nevertheless been imagining pregnancy syptoms ever since. ERTD is due on Tuesday so I still have a few days to wait before I can test. I am DETERMINED to wait, but may require some moral support/distracting banter to keep me occupied in the meantime.
I feel more or less normal, but I do have very sore and noticably larger than normal boobs, but sore boobs are fairly normal for me before my period. Also, have woken up at 6am two days running (this is very abnormal for me - I never wake up before my 7.30 alarm no matter how much noise DH makes while getting ready for work).

Oh and in case you want to skip that lengthy explanation, here are the cold, hard stats:
roamfree TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL 28-30 CD 25

felicityFlick · 27/08/2010 08:23

Thank you for the kind words my darlings. Off for a stiff wine and a manicure with some friends so I am feeling lots better than this morning.

Welcome roamfree You've come to the right place for drinks! We are very good at distracting banter too :)

zippys · 27/08/2010 08:25

Morning lovely frolickers, first of all thanks so so much for all your hugs and best wishes. The last couple of weeks have been hell and your comments helped (although di make me cry!).

I am sorry for not posting but cant seem to join in with the chit chat and talk of testing etc (sorry if that offends anyone).

Still no engagement ring but we have talked a little and I am hoping it will appear soon, but I am going to take your advice and propose to him. He is very tradtional but it will show I want him and no one else.

Been to see my GP and basically we could SWI forever and still not get BFP, DP is infertile without intervention. Looks like we will be going down IVF route, and even that may not be sucessful. We have to wait till next appointment to redo SA to see if any improvement from changes (including Fertilaid- thanks Flick) and I have ordered loads of books to read up on. But then we will need to referred on so it will take a while and right now my head is not in a place to deal with it anyway. Just feel like my whole life has been altered in a couple of weeks and just continually want to crawl into bed and just cry then I get angry and think why us - have we not been through enough!

SO, could someone please move me off the list as there is no point being on it Sad. For now could someone move me to not counting, however I may want taking off when I think about it more.

I will check up on you but at moment cant see me posting for a while, if again. So massive good luck to all of you. There are a few of you who all now have a special place in my heart (you all know who you are) and I cant wait to read about all your BFP's.

xxxx

CaveMum · 27/08/2010 08:37

zippys bless you, you've had a rough few weeks. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we totally understand your reasons for not posting and someone will move you on the list shortly. I would do it but I'm posting from my iPhone.
I wish you all the best for the journey you are about to embark on, and do please stop by every now and then to let us know how you are. We definitely want to see pictures of the ring!! Let us know how the proposal goes. Much love and (((hugs))).

Roamfree welcome to the mad house!

Flick enjoy your pampering session.

JosieSmith1 · 27/08/2010 09:27

Good Friday morning everyone!

Highheels I am really really excited! I would have been nervous but now that we?ve been TTC and been unsuccessful so far, the thought is crossing my mind that we might not be able to (I know it?s unlikely but it is possible) so I?m not really nervous at all as I?m becoming more and more desperate!

Sorry for your BFN Flick, but to echo the others, it aint over till its over.

Welcome Roamfree, you?re in the right place! I am calm at the moment but come ERTD time I keep everyone amused with my insane symptom spotting Grin. It?s so hard to tell between pg symptoms and ERTD symptoms. Hang in there!

Zippy I?m so sorry to hear about your difficulties. We all totally understand why you?re not joining in the banter. Keep your chin up, I can?t imagine how hard things must be for you right now. Good luck with the proposal.

Well yesterday afternoon off work was great, the dog was fine when she came home so I went for a ride instead! She's a little bruised this morning but happy as larry.

stegasaurus · 27/08/2010 10:13

Well, the test was positive. I am actually pregnant after 16 months of trying. I nearly fell over in shock, can't quite believe it!!

gardenpixie · 27/08/2010 10:16

Hi, sorry for v short post but just wanted to say to Zippys that you and your DP clearly love each other so much - I am sure you will keep each other strong through whatever help you need to get your BFP (which I am sure sure sure will happen for you). I am sending lots of love and excited squeals about your impending proposal! Totally understand if you can't post at the moment but we'll all be thinking of you and sending cocktails and baby dust.

Flick sorry about your BFN. The other thing I was thinking is that I think OPKs give you a window of 24hrs or so don't they? (ie they don't predict ovulation to the exact hour) so you might be a day less past ovulation than you think? Bless Mr Flick for seeing the 1% inaccuracy rather than the 99% accuracy - but you know, he IS right. No ERTD = still hope!

roamfree welcome! looking forward to you joining in the general nuttiness Smile

Josie glad your hound is feeling better Smile

Hello to everyone else! Not much news from me - last day of clomid and still feeling great (so have now convinced myself that means it's not working - grrrrrrr, I'm my own worst enemy, honestly!). Am off to the FIL's for a couple of days in the wilds of Norfolk with no internet or phone reception. How will I cope without my daily dose of frolickers? How? How?

Happy weekends to everyone and looking forward to hearing about some BFPs when I return to civilisation

Grin xxx

kkas · 27/08/2010 10:24

zippys so sorry to hear about what you are going through. i have moved you on the list. you will really be missed. thank you for all your support these last few months. feel free to stop in whenever you feel like it. and good luck with the proposal!

stegasaurus congratulations! so pleased for you :)

flick sorry to hear about BFN. i really had a feeling too. Sad hope you have a good weekend though and don't lose hope as cavey said.
