Does anyone else have a wrapping paper "theme" for each person and then change their mind and re-wrap everything?

to peple that have different colours for each person, do you put up a key chart on the wall, and use a pointey stick when reading out the key?

a word of warning to fellow themed wrappers..... LOCK THE PAPER AND RIBBONS OUT OF DP/DH'S REACH!

got home from the playschool xmas party yesterday and made a jibe at dp about sitting on his arse doing nothing and was told 'Actually i was busy wrapping your present. It's really nice actually, i used some of that blue and gold paper'

me: 'oh you didn't did you, that's ds1's paper!'

dp: 'oh, i didn't know that, surely it doesn't matter though. I put lovely ribbons on it too'

me: 'not the cloth ribbons, please tell me you didn't use the cloth ones, they're Santy's ribons, we don't use those. you'll have to take it off'

dp: ' i can't, it's sellotaped to the box'

me: 'why, it's a ribbon? nevermind, you'll just have to rewrap, i need those ribbons for Santy presents'

dp: 'well you won't be able to do use it anyway, it's all cut up, i wanted it to be nice and square and didn't know how to do that so i cut it up and sellotaped it'

me: 'shock' 'you what?!'

dp: 'well how was i supposed to know that i wasn't supposed to use it?'

me: 'the fact that it's in a seperate box away from everything else would have beeen a clue, and the fact that i told you last year!'

dp: 'you're crazy, you know that right?'

as well as desecrating the santy ribbon he's left me without enough paper for ds1's presents so my ds1 now has one mismatching present

I thought they did their wrapping on Christmas Eve about 2 hours after buying your gift?

I'm so nutty about doing it 'right' that none of my exes have ever attempted to wrap anything...that's MY job... let them do the boring stuff like cook christmas dinner (I can't cook for toffee...at least, not roasts!).

labels on presents from FC?? what do they say - 'X from FC' 'X from FC' 'X from FC'??

FC presents MUST be wrapped though - keeps them busy for more minutes

tbh i have never known a child question FC's use of exactly the same wrapping paper as mum and dad - FC shops at IKEA too you know

choosy, obviously myover obsessiveness about wraping paper began as a child as i distincly remember finding the paper Santa had used in my mothers wrapping paper drawer being the moment i realised he wasn't real

dd noticed when she was 2 and i was a bit careless that 'Look! Santy used the same paper as us!' .... she may be even more anal than me as an adult!

the Santa presents are tagged with just their name in 'special' writing... all swooping with lots of loops to look like elvish writing

OMG I was nearly busted when DD was 4 as she too spotted that FC and Mum had the same paper.

I now go to great lengths to buy a roll for their presents and then bin the leftovers so there is no chance of her remembering!

I am liking the wrap the DC's presents in different Santa paper - what a fab idea - too late for this year though!

caterpillar How can you reuse the paper? It all gets torn and shredded into unusable pieces and if you fetch the sellotape off then it takes the picture with it.

I wrap the stocking presents in a different paper...so they think FC really has bought them and it wasn't just me! This year I have amused myself by wrapping up sweets(lollies,flumps etc) individually and knowing that it'll keep the kids busy for an extra ten mins.Resulting in me having a bit more time to myself!

I wrapped Santa presents in different paper but otherwise no, you are a crazy person .
