Welcome to the 2009 MN Christmas Appeal Thankyou Thread

First of all thank you very much to my good friend NormaStanlelFletcher for organising the whole thing

Each mumsnetter that receives a parcel will see a number printed on it.

When adding to this thread could you all please mention the number so that the sender knows for definite it was their parcel.

Thank to MNHQ for helping norma with this mammoth task.

A Very Happy Christmas to you all

Great thanks Fluffy.

Keep us posted pls

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 13/01/2010 22:59

Will do. So much time and effort has gone into this years appeal by so many people, it would be such a shame for if it ended this way.

magicOC · 13/01/2010 23:04

I agree.

This was my 1st year taking part and really looked forward to putting that little extra something into someone else's christmas.

Just hope this doesn't put anyone off doing it next year. Now that would be [asd]

magicOC · 13/01/2010 23:05

even

DontPanicImRegular · 13/01/2010 23:49

Hi ladies

I usually post under a different name, and have been posting on MN since before the original Xmas appeal was done by soapy. I have always given to the appeal but after a hideous year I was nominated for the appeal by a few posters and nominated myslef because I was desperate and didn't know I had been nominated (some people may think that is crass but when facing an Xmas with nothing you do desperate thing)

Anyway last week I recieved a wonderful package from a fellow MNer, came on tonight to say a massive thank you and realised I have thrown away the envelope that the Ref number was written on SORRY!!

So in my package were two books one for DD1(2yrs) and one for DD2 (4yrs). Cherry Tree Farm has gone down very well as they are a favourite in this house, and the other book which I don't have the name of because DD2 has taken it to bed with her, is beautiful about a Hare who is nervous to hold her little brother (it made me cry when I first read it)

Thank you so much I am very grateful for the books, and the DD's love them.

On a different note if anyone has anything for a 4yr old DS going spare I would be happy to recieve anything, as DS was very upset that he didn't get anything.

DontPanicImRegular · 13/01/2010 23:52

Sorry that should have been DD1(4yrs), DS(4yrs), and DD(2yrs).

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 13/01/2010 23:52

DontPainc, If you CAT me I've more then likely got something for him.

DontPanicImRegular · 13/01/2010 23:53

Bloody hell I can't get anything right

DD2(2yrs)

DontPanicImRegular · 13/01/2010 23:53

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 13/01/2010 23:57

magicOC · 14/01/2010 00:03

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 14/01/2010 00:05

I didn't get given my match in the end either - am a little upset, wasn't going to be a lot - just a small voucher, but was hoping even if I was given a match "post" Christmas I could brighten someone's New Year a little.

BUT - it won't put me offering to donate again this year

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 14/01/2010 00:05

I don't have CAT (unless the lovley ladies at MN give them out for free as it's christmas ) You can email me though.

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 14/01/2010 00:07

Don't give up yet Awassailing, I bet someone's trying to sort something out give it a few more days

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 14/01/2010 00:10

well tbh if I don't have a match by the weekend then I may not be able to do it now.

I need to get my end of month budget sorted - and not sure I'll be able to get the voucher out of next months budget now I've got to start saving for my move

DontPanicImRegular · 14/01/2010 00:11

Fluffy I have emailed you

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 14/01/2010 00:13

Sweetie, you need this at the moment. It's a lovely thing that you want to do, you brighten people's days just by being around. You use whatever you have allocated, when times are a little better then do something then. Your time is worth more to people here then anything else, you do a fantastic job
Send somethin next year.

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 14/01/2010 00:15

I have recieved your email and replied don't panic

DontPanicImRegular · 14/01/2010 00:18

Awass - save your money now and just donate next time. Nobody would want you to struggle, this is to help those that are struggling not make more people struggle

Every year I am floored by the kindness of my fellow MNers.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 14/01/2010 00:20

no - what I'm saying is if I get a match by the end of the weekend then I can still do it - otherwise after Sunday the money set aside for the voucher will be pushed into next months budget (I work from mid month as the only DD's I have go out mid month, and I get my credit card statement mid month and make the payment straight away)

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 14/01/2010 00:23

You have so much on your plate though, your time on here talking and supporting people is worth so much, you give alot already.

I don't know what MNHQ's plans are so if you still want to then waiting and seeing what they say is probably your best bet.

cherrymonster · 14/01/2010 10:51

i didnt receive a match either, i have a parcel waiting to go out containing 3 childrens fleecy blankets, pre- loved but still in excellent cond, there is a navy buzz lightyear one, and 2 pink disney princess ones so if anyone would like them please let me know. i received loads of stuff for the girls and myself, but the boys were a bit peeved because they didnt get a present

Hulababy · 14/01/2010 10:54

I just want to know if my parcel was recieved. Can't be bothered to keep name changing.

Ref: 09164

Was for a 6y girl.

09362 · 14/01/2010 14:46

I am so sorry this is late, but the parcel was sitting in the Post Office for a while as I haven't been around to collect it.

Many, many, many, many thanks for the lovely gifts you sent us. The DC are very pleased with their T shirts and bracelets (and are very jealous that you have been to Egypt!) The laughed their socks off at the book and are looking forward to watching the DVDs.

I am very grateful for the hot rocks set and am very much looking forward to using them. The ear rings and bag are lovely and I shall wear them next time I go out.

Thankyou for the voucher too. You went beyond being generous and we are so very, very grateful.

Thank you to Norma too for orgainising it.

LouIsOnAHighwayToHell · 14/01/2010 22:05

09362 - glad you like it. I was not sure how many boys you had so estimated two so hope no one missed out.
