I know this is early but are we going to have an MN Christmas Appeal this year?

Just thought I would ask as the last one was launched on 1st Oct last year.

I suppose I am saying that if no-one more competent and organised than me comes forward, I am prepared to do it. But would like to speak to Soapbox, LL or StG for pointers before launch iyswim.

I find myself quite time rich over the next few weeks while my security clearance is processed for my new job.

So Wadda we think?

I really hope there is one and Norma, if you're ready, willing and able then I'm sure everyone would be very very grateful. Maybe email MNHQ and they'll put you in touch with your predecessors for tips?

I would love to be involved again this year,
reading the thread with all the lovely ladies recieving things was fabulous reminder about the spirit of Christmas.

oooooo GreySkull - sorry for thread hijack - but you're another MN cake maker aren't you........

I haven't participated in this before, but I'd love to donate something. I've definitely got a few things knocking about that I'd be more than happy to send out.

jofeb04 · 21/09/2009 21:25

I would love to be involved (as in give, nor organise as you did a great job last year).

Be great to give this year rather than recieve

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 21/09/2009 21:30

Hello yes - can I help with something?

alwayslookingforanswers · 21/09/2009 21:37

ermm maybe - I don't know. ShelleyLou is getting married last year, and I've offered to sort the wedding cake out as my gift to her, for all her help and support for me last year (and again right now).........only problem is I can't bake or ice

AtheneNoctua · 21/09/2009 21:39

I'm in. Bugger the moldies. We can have a Christmas appeal whether they like it or not. It's none of their business.

I just need to know when/where/how to sign up. I can't think of anyone to nominate... but the season is young. I'm sure I'll run across someone.

NormaStanleyFletchachacha · 21/09/2009 21:42

OK - I will wait until I have OK from MNHQ, and I really would like to speak to StG, LL or SoapBox.

Then I think we should launch on oct 1st.

me too....

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/09/2009 22:04

I'm up for it - last year was the first that I participated in and the whole thing was absolutely brilliant.

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/09/2009 22:14

WTF do Moldies have to do with the Christmas appeal?

The whole Moldie thing didn't blow up until a couple of days before Christmas, well after the Christmas appeal had finished.

Good for you, NSF - brilliant that you've volunteered.

Soapbox's first appeal was what cemented my relationship with MN, and I think it's one of our many fine achievements!

dizzydixies · 21/09/2009 22:17

evening BIWI

I hardly have a minute to fart get on anymore but I want to join in please - just let me know where I need to be/what to do

liahgen · 21/09/2009 22:19

i'm in.

Not got alot as dh has a day taken off him at work, but we alot better off than some. And some people have just had a shit year haven't they? We are still together.

NormaStanleyFletchachacha · 21/09/2009 22:20

BIWI

In every other year I have not had enough to give, nor been a recipient, not needed to be iyswim.

I was thinking about TrinityRhino, who I am going to see in about 12 days, and how christmas will be for her. I have spare time, that I may never have again, and it is the one thing I can give.

So

Bring it on

hey ingles thank you very much. Have had lovely day.

(as you were)

alwayslookingforanswers · 21/09/2009 22:29

give it another year and "Moldies" will be like JudgeFlounce and EthanChristopher are now - things simply to "define" oneself as someone who's been around a while.

I think MN has fully recovered, yes a few people are still bitter and like to keep bringing it up - but that's just like in RL, some people hold onto stuff for years and never move on.

I think the support that TrinityRhino has been given in the last few terrible weeks for her show that MN is back right where it always has been.

NormaStanleyFletchachacha · 21/09/2009 22:31

Mouldies have fuck all to do with this. They are very few compared to the rest of us. I do miss some of them, but the giving and recieving is so much bigger than that group.

However - if anyone can put me in touch with SB, LL or Stg I would be most grateful

I have StG on my Facebook - can send her a message if you want.
