Does anyone know what date/time the delivery slots will be out for Christmas eve online shopping? Thanks!

no call and still all ok with my 2 dates!

bellavita · 26/11/2008 00:17

still ok - no call

dutchmam · 26/11/2008 06:40

Slot still there and I can officially now book it anyway so I think they just didn't bother calling me. I don't think I'm a priority customer, never had a letter to say I could book early.

NCbirdy · 26/11/2008 12:31

Ok, I promise I am not trying to show off this is just really weird...

Lady phoned up as I said, all very nice, is now re-booked. Anyway, about 10 minutes later an email showed up appologising for the inconvenience and giving me a £5 e-voucer off my order....

I didn't know wether to tell you all in case you thought I was showing off but then thought others may have got this?

It is weird isn't it? I am very confused - and not sure if I should use it in case they realise they have made a mistake and take it back!

CharleeInChains · 26/11/2008 12:34

Ok everyone couble check your order online! My order was sucsessfully booked for the 23rd no call or anythimg i got confirmatoin email but when i wento online to add things to it it has vanished! I would call them but then i have to admit i cheated and got an early slot.

CharleeInChains · 26/11/2008 12:36

Oh i see they have completley candelled other peoples to. Gits.

curlywurlycremeegg · 27/11/2008 08:32

Fuckin fuckin fuckin Tesco, I got the call, had my order moved back, not a problem, looked this morning and the whole bloody thing has been deteted, my regular order for next week is still there but my christmas one has gone from the slot they moved it back to. Just phone, some member of staff appears to have deleated it, for what reason I have no idea as when I checked last it was still firmly sat in the slot they had moved it to. There is no way I am sitting here to input another order and waste more time, Sainsburys can have my Christmas food spending instead, wouldn't mind so much but it was a very large order, feeding the family and ILs, so well over £300 in basket

jenkel · 27/11/2008 09:45

I had the phonecall on Tuesday, went in to check and it had been cancelled and the way the URL worked had been changed too so you couldnt pick the week number, just checked today and the URL is now back to how it was and you can put in the week number so I did, and found that all the 24th and 23rd is booked solid and just a few spaces on the 22nd, so depending on when you want your shopping it may not be worth staying up to midnight on Sun because it looks like its all booked anyway. Got to admit I am a tiny bit tempted to try again, do you think I would be banned from Tescos!

judgenutmeg · 27/11/2008 10:06

What's the worst that could happen? [/whistles innocently and shuffles up on naughty step]

blossomsmine · 27/11/2008 10:22

I have just gone back on and booked the 23rd AGAIN, after they cancelled my first booking Nearly all the delivery slots are gone now, that is out of order!!! I am abit fed up about this, who gets priority then? I do all my shopping at tesco, i also get points from my electric, credit card and home phone (thats with tesco too) I also do shoppers questionnaires with tesco every month.............can't they see that they get ALL my available money!!!!
Anyway, all they will do is phone up and cancel it again!

futurity · 27/11/2008 10:23

I phoned this morning to ask if I could be considered for priority booking as I am a regular customer etc etc. The bloke phoned back and said that he has been told that priority slots are only given to people who online shop more than 3 times a week. I said are there REALLY people who do that? He said "must be!" but sounded as surprised as I was!

procrastinatingparent · 27/11/2008 10:49

I've just phoned too, and was told that I am not in the top 10% of customers, apparently calculated by how frequently you shop not how much you spend. Do those people on this thread who do get priority booking shop more than 3 times a week? (I guess I get an order every one to two weeks).

So the moral of the story is: get a daily delivery and have priority booking for the Christmas slots!

I said that I thought that it was unfair and did not encourage me to do my (extremely large) Christmas shop at Tesco, and he gave me an address to write to complain. I'm happy to post it if anyone else wants to try to persuade Tesco to change their minds.

futurity · 27/11/2008 10:59

i am flipping annoyed with them to be honest as I have gone in and seen that alot of slots are already booked up..but of course if I tried again to book they would complain. To be honest I can't be arsed to wait up until midnight on Sunday or whenever I have to do it as its not worth it... the reason I do online shopping is so I don't stress myself out as I juggle working from home with kids..why should I knacker myself out over it (I need my 8 hours sleep lol!)

procrastinatingparent · 27/11/2008 11:01

There are only two slots left on the 23rd around here - and I bet they will be taken by Saturday midnight.

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 27/11/2008 11:02

We're getting our non-perishables delivered but on the 16th (day after pay day- see what we did there? ) so we can replace, rest fresh on the 23rd I expect (but geting most veg in M&S order on 24th hurrah)

DiscoDizzy · 27/11/2008 11:07

I've just booked my slot for 23rd, there are no discounts around for free delivery though.

blossomsmine · 27/11/2008 11:10

Load of rubbish isn't it.... Do you reckon Tesco staff get priority??

hottotrot · 27/11/2008 13:33

I reckon the tesco guy must have meant more than 3 times a month surely.

I got priority booking via e mail and by letter but have shopping delivered 4 times a month, not 3 times a week.

I only live in a small town thpugh so maybe demand is not as great here for home deliveries.

chipo · 27/11/2008 13:41

Thanks judgenutmeg, took me a while to work out what you meant but it worked.

onager · 27/11/2008 14:07

Yeah, it must be 4 times a month and I was lucky to scrape by there since I've only started doing that recently.

If you can't get the right slots email tescos anyway to let them know. That's an incentive for them to get more vans and drivers for next time.

bramblebooks · 27/11/2008 19:21

I've just cancelled my order as our local slots are full for Christmas week. I'm going to contact tescos and tell them that in future I'll be shopping online with Sainsbury's. My Christmas/December spend will not be with Tesco's this year.

blossomsmine · 27/11/2008 21:15

Just noticed on the tesco site, that the slot i booked is only reserved.....it says it will reserve it for two hours?? What does that mean then???!! I just pressed book a slot, then did the little trick changing the number etc., but unlike the last time i did that, this time it is just reserved??? Strange. I just thought i would see if i get another call! Maybe if i renew it every two hours i will keep the slot!!

Sorry...........must have pressed twice

geisha · 27/11/2008 21:25

All but one of my local slots look to be booked as well. I doubt the one available slot will stil;l be there when I am allowed to book for xmas week next week. Have cancelled my order, will do my christmas spending elsewhere
