Just had my 'phone call, (9.48 at night, bit late me thinks!). Grrrrrrrrrrrr........

judgenutmeg · 24/11/2008 21:53

Yes DuffyMoon, very regular customer.

Maybe you should all take your phone numbers out of your account details or replace them with the phone number of your local Sainsbury. Can you imagine that conversation.

jojosmaman · 24/11/2008 21:57

I've been rumbled too, just got a call! Will set the alarm to log on at 12.01am on 1st December!

You should have selfishly kept it to yourself Nutmeg, you probably would have got away with it!!

FWIW, I booked mine last year no problem and had nothing missing/ subbed so fingers crossed it will be as just as good this year!

Flier · 24/11/2008 21:58

well, they'd better not phone me at this time of night!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 24/11/2008 22:01

Those awaiting phone calls, why not just go in and change your delivery now to save an awkward convo with Mrs.Tesco

CharleeInChains · 24/11/2008 22:01

I am hoping they will ring tommorrw if at all when im not going to be in.

If they ask where i found the slot - 'oh a friend did the order for me on her computer'

shoshe · 24/11/2008 22:03

I booked mine and have had no call

judgenutmeg · 24/11/2008 22:11

The lady who called me was lovely and very jovial. She just said that there was an error on the site and lots of people had booked slots that simply weren't available yet. It wasn't awkward at all, I couldn't quite believe that I'd been able to do it in the firstplace!

I first read about it on another forum so think Tesco will be making hundreds of calls over the next few days. Sorry to get your hopes up peeps. [/sheepish]

It was nice to be so overwhelmingly loved up for a few days.

NCbirdy · 24/11/2008 22:12

ooh, good idea Charlee - I might nick that one if I get the call first

Judge, I agree, next time keep your ideas to yourself - that way you don't loose out on it too

none of the slots in my area are fully booked yet... I wonder if it is because your areas are too full...

jenk1 · 24/11/2008 22:12

i had a phonecall half an hour ago, they have rebooked me for the 14th and then i have to change it to the 23rd when the date "becomes available".

i dont know how i stopped myself from laughing,i felt like a naughty school girl!!!

NCbirdy · 24/11/2008 22:14

Poor tesco people - lets hoep they are getting lots of lovely overtime pay in time for Christmas!

NCbirdy · 24/11/2008 22:15

Mikestand, they did have your input insofar as you were on the ohone when they did it?

cece · 24/11/2008 22:19

No phone call but I have just checked my accoundt and it is now due for delviery on the 14th .

MikeStand · 24/11/2008 22:19

No NCbirdy - they left a message on my answering machine. I went to check my acount and it had been changed. Also I am a regular customer and there are slots available for the whole of xmas week. It will still let you book for that week. Should have kept it quiet!!!!!!!You will have to book on December the 1st

NCbirdy · 24/11/2008 22:21

Ahh, oh well. I will just have to keep checking!

Nice idea though - ill have to see if it still works next year (on the down low this time )

blossomsmine · 24/11/2008 22:44

Just checked my account and i am still down for the 23rd...... Do you think they will get round to calling me???? I don't often order on line and i do worry that they just might 'forget' my delivery.....do you think that is ever a possibility???

CharleeInChains · 24/11/2008 22:50

No call still - although if they call now i shall be very cross with them for calling at such a daft hour!

I bet they will call tommorrow and leave a message (Charlee makes note to turn answer machine off!) I bet my account will have a changed delivery when i get in tommorrow.

Do you reckon the manager of Tesco delivery has been on the phone to thier own Big Tech telling him/her to sort it out so these chheky cows can't order before time?

onager · 24/11/2008 23:49

I don't know if this applies to everyone, but logon to tescos and on that first page look for "free gift". Click it and see if it mentions priority ordering.

DuffyMoon · 25/11/2008 07:15

indeed it does....can book to 22/12

HappyMummyOfOne · 25/11/2008 07:29

First homepage or grocery homepage? Usually stay up till midnight on 30/11 and worried now about getting a slot if you can book today.

BeauticianNotMagician · 25/11/2008 08:03

I have booked a slot this morning for 23rd but it was letting me book up until 22nd anyway so hopefully will get away with it.
Have never booked in advance before.Does it let you add items up to the night before and does your card get charged the day before as normal??

BONKERZ · 25/11/2008 08:18

i got a letter yesterday morning actually for priority booking and i have booked 2 date 21st for my DDs party and 23rd for crimbo food! Fingers crossed although i did change my phone numbers just incase! LMAO

Flier · 25/11/2008 08:21

thats straneg that some of you could book up until 22nd anyway, I could only book up until the 15th.

I booked the 22nd yesterday, maybe that's why i haven't had a phonecall???

geordieminx · 25/11/2008 08:44

mines was cancelled at 9.40pm last night. TBH I'm not that bothered - our tesco is 24 hours 7 days a week so will just get up at stupid o clock and leave ds at home with daddy.

mumofdjandbabies · 25/11/2008 09:42

snotty woman phoned cancelled mine too!! last night
