Does anyone know what date/time the delivery slots will be out for Christmas eve online shopping? Thanks!

Oh dear I hope your day gets better, would wine, bath and a good book help? I know it is a salve not a solution but it may help for a while?

futurity · 24/11/2008 20:07

i have had a bath..just about to have a hot chocolate as i think i am coming down with an evil bug...just my luck!

procrastinatingparent · 24/11/2008 20:22

Yep, I got a phone call too ... well, it was nice while it lasted.

Fitting end to a difficult day - huge hassle with DH's job, and two out of four ill children - one child vomiting during a power cut.

Cheers, futurity.

This has to be the best MN tip ever! Thanks

A LOT of slots were taken already, the 23rd is nearly full!

NCbirdy · 24/11/2008 20:34

I guess they may have let us get away with it if there were just a few...

Still no call here though - if I unplug the phones do you think they will leave me alone

geisha · 24/11/2008 20:45

I just got a call too. Asked me to change my slot to 14th theb change back next week. Bet they are going around everyone..........

Out if interest, what time did yo all pace your orders? I am wondering if they are calling the last few to bring the numbers down...

Did anyone explain it is not our fault if the system allowed it...?

Cadelaide · 24/11/2008 20:56

I had a call but I wasn't here, DS answered and they didn't leave a message.

Hmm, we shall see.

MikeStand · 24/11/2008 21:03

I had the call. Moved my order to 14th and told me those slots are not available until 1st December. Best check they haven't moved yours!

geisha · 24/11/2008 21:04

I placed my order at about 14.15 Sunday. It really was too good to be true!

Funny thing is, I don't think they have been able to work out how folk know about these slots. I played a bit dumb on the phone and the woman explained to me that they thought some people had been placing info on google or something!

I had a call too. Tesco have been busy tonight ringing all MN to re book the slot for the 14th. The woman said I can change it later.
Think we have been rumbled

BlessThisMess · 24/11/2008 21:09

I had a call. Lost my slot for 23/12 and moved it to the 14th. The trouble is, I'm on holiday next week and likely to not be near a computer to book a slot. Ah well, looks like I will have to do my Christmas shopping the old-fashioned way again!

NCbirdy · 24/11/2008 21:10

Well this is available on Google as it is an open site, all they would have to do is google something like this and come up with the thread.

I think you are right wings

I have checked and mine has not been changed by them (I am not sure they can do it without your input IYSWIM)

clayre · 24/11/2008 21:13

i'm sitting here a nervous wreck now with the fone beside me!

MikeStand · 24/11/2008 21:21

Sorry but they changed mine without my input.

jojoisamum · 24/11/2008 21:25

Oooh fab! I've just booked mine for 23rd!

DesperateHousewifeToo · 24/11/2008 21:36

OOh, I did the order date for my mum who is abroad at the moment. I wonder if they are trying to call her?

Will have to wait till mid december to catch anyone in

jojoisamum · 24/11/2008 21:38

oooh will keep an eye on it.

judgenutmeg · 24/11/2008 21:41

Bumholes.

Very nice lady at Tesco.com was trying very hard not to laugh.

It seems my norty brilliant scheme has been well and truly rumbled.

CharleeInChains · 24/11/2008 21:43

Mine hasn't changed yet (touchng wood) and DP says i have had no calls whilst i was out at Panto rehersals so i am hoping i will be ok!

HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 24/11/2008 21:46

No call as yet... - dh just laughed when I told him!

the thing is they must allow some slots to be be booked before they are released as last year I stayed up late so the second they were released I could book one and loads of slots were already full

DuffyMoon · 24/11/2008 21:47

are people who have had orders cancelled regular tesco customers out of interest

CharleeInChains · 24/11/2008 21:47

Only 1 other slot is booked before time at the moment at my local Tesco.

I feel a little bit naughty.

Get me the ultimate rebel!

JiminyCricket · 24/11/2008 21:50

i shop tescos online every week, but I will NEVER do Christmas week again - arrived in a taxi in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT with loads missing, no serious apology or refund. I think they did credit me the delivery charge. Too stressful. Anything non-perishable I will stock up on before hand though. Good luck
