I usually go but I am sick (pg) I reserved everything last night so all he knew was to take the number and come back with what they gave him .

He has spent a £130.00 and got everything that was on the but we also now have a

HSM PHone

HSM laptop

HSM light up mirror

HSM floor cushion

HSM singing tothbrush

HSM make up set

HSM washbag

At first I thought it was someone elses shopping that he had got by mistake but it is all on the list and at the side of all the HSM stuff it all says 0.00!

So wwyd I feel bad because someone is going to get into trouble but on the other hand dd loves HSM so truthfully would you keep it or take it back.

Also dp paid in cash so they are not going to debit a card later or anything .

I say ring them up and tell them, say they can come and collect it.

If they say you can keep it I'll give you a fiver for the floor cushion, DD1 has just got into HSM!!

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 14:53

Thankfully don't know what High School Musical is.

I can't enjoy my cup of tea for the worry about your moral condition. Can I come round and take the stuff back for you? I won't preach at you I promise. Just leave a little pamphlet on moral codes for you to peruse at leisure.

UnquietDad · 01/11/2008 14:54

I'd take it back, merely on the grounds that we have enough HSM tat, thank you. (Have an 8yo DD here...)

I had something similar happen with kiddicare.com - they delivered my order and someone else's. It was 2 stairgates and a highchair all with someone elses address on and so I rang and told them, they didn't collect, rang and told them again and they didn't collect. I did keep thinking about the poor person chasing their order.1 year later I freecycled them, but I think I would have used them if I had needed them..
Morally you have to ring them.

FlameNPumpkins · 01/11/2008 14:55

I am in need of free HSM tat at all times, hence my desire to keep it

expatinscotland · 01/11/2008 14:55

I'm with UD.

No HSM is good.

I'd take it back.

UpJacobscreek · 01/11/2008 14:57

I hate HSM too ,if it had been a lovely new kettle or something I would be having a nice cuppa right now .

Oh I've always wanted to stand reprovingly and hand out pamhlets for something! should we sing something moralistic SOH?

littlestrawberry · 01/11/2008 15:01

I ordered space stickers from Next Directory, cost about £10 a pack (ones for the bedroom walls) and instead of 1 pack I got a wrapped pack of 6.

I kept an extra pack and took the rest back, basically because I didn't want or need any more. Just said I'd been sent too many, got no thankyou or anything.

In this situation I would be very torn, I have very loose morals. My mum and dad got a new kitchen years ago which they were never charged for. Don't ask me how, long complicated story which I don't fully understand myself. They just kept the money and waited for the company (a big one) to come and get it which they never did. I guess you can see where my morals come from

luckylady74 · 01/11/2008 15:02

I would ring them, but I'd be hoping that I wouldn't be able to get through - so I could say 'well at least I tried' - I think that reveals my lack of moral fibre.

BBBee · 01/11/2008 15:04

oh High School Musical

um, keep it.

stardazzle · 01/11/2008 15:06

i'd have to take it back!

i've just recieved my bodyshop order from a party and it has an extra thing in that i didn't order, only worth £8 but its going back.

Flightattendant4 · 01/11/2008 15:06

Ring them up, maybe. Mind ytou they won;t have a clue.

I took back two radios that were free a few weeks ago, now I am worried in case they actually charged my card for them subsequently!!

But I do have a clear conscience..

bangdom · 01/11/2008 15:07

Keep it

filthymindedSixSixSixen · 01/11/2008 15:07

I once ordered a shedload of stuff from a company for christmas in late October. It arrived on December 29th. Meanwhile I had rung them and rung them and they said :''we've dispathed it, take it up with Royal Mail.'' Suffice it to say, got nowhere.
Rang up and bollecked them for the non arrival of xmas present stuff and they refunded me the money. When the parcel arrived I rang and explained. I did say it was too late as I had had to go and buy alternative gifts, so said could I keep my refund and they pick up the parcel.. They agreed and thanked me for my honesty. They never sent a courier and 2 weeks later, an identical parcel arrived for me. I rang and explained again. They said they would send a courier...
Guess what?

After 6 months I gave up and gave the stuff away as gifts.

SoupDragon · 01/11/2008 15:12

The items appear on the OP's receipt with a cost of £0.00. It's not like they've been misappropriated from someone else's order or picked up from the store display and smuggled out. I would phone the store and insist they came to collect the items if they wanted them, I wouldn't make a special trip back to return them. Somewhere in my brain is a niggling thought that if you're given/sent something unsolicited the company is required to collect it within X days or you get to keep it.

I find it odd that people feel it should be taken back yet so many were happy to try and rip off some mail order company for a £25 bed when it was clearly a mistake.

Peachy · 01/11/2008 15:13

Stardazzle check- often you get gifts for hosting aprties, it may be yours?

daftpunk · 01/11/2008 15:13
