I usually go but I am sick (pg) I reserved everything last night so all he knew was to take the number and come back with what they gave him .

He has spent a £130.00 and got everything that was on the but we also now have a

HSM PHone

HSM laptop

HSM light up mirror

HSM floor cushion

HSM singing tothbrush

HSM make up set

HSM washbag

At first I thought it was someone elses shopping that he had got by mistake but it is all on the list and at the side of all the HSM stuff it all says 0.00!

So wwyd I feel bad because someone is going to get into trouble but on the other hand dd loves HSM so truthfully would you keep it or take it back.

Also dp paid in cash so they are not going to debit a card later or anything .

Ah upjavobs, you don't necessarily get good karma, you lose karma (dependent on the faith- eg Jainism- its like a sticky thing that yoyu accrue or not, iyswim- lots of karma- is heavy so holds you back in the rebirth stakes)

Sorry (hangs head in shame)

I'd take it back, its obvious that they are not free gifts and its a large amount of items.

Past service has nothing to do with it. The items haven't been paid for so it is theft - not intentional if your other half had no idea what he was collecting but that doesnt make it any better.

Are we not supposed to teach our children right from wrong so surely it applies to the adults too?

nappyaddict · 01/11/2008 14:35

Good idea. If you tell them to come and collect them a lot of the time they will just say oh forget it. Happened to me with Tesco once. I had some shopping that I hadn't ordered and wasn't on the receipt so I rang them and they told me to just keep it.

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 01/11/2008 14:35

This happened a while ago with me, I had 7 packs of Pampers delivered by mistake from Sainsburys on line. I told the driver I hadn't ordered them and they were not on my receipt, he asked if they were the size we used, they were, so he said keep them, as the store would not accept them back and they would only be thrown away, in case they had been "tampered" with.

I did feel quite guilty and have only just started to use them!

Tn0g · 01/11/2008 14:36

If this happened to me I'd feel obliged to return the items.

I guess you just have to go with what your conscience tells you to do.

Peachy · 01/11/2008 14:36

NA that is indeed my hope (or wuld be LOL)- which in itself is fine

DH got a fab technical wotsit in that way; DHL ever called to collect it so after so long legall his.

Result, but he did nothing wrong.

spottyshoes · 01/11/2008 14:37

Right or wrong i'd keep it. I've been diddled out of many a quid or 2 over the years from various companies - when they cock up I see it as it evening itself out!

You could ring up customer services and tell them what's happened - they may say keep it anyway. I did this recently (giving a fake name ) and they weren't bothered about it.

hercules1 · 01/11/2008 14:37

OF course it's theft. THe op realises it was a mistake and she shouldnt have the goods. DOes seems odd that that they registered as 0.00.

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 14:37

Please don't phone 141, you're compounding the devious nature of the whole situation. Do the right thing. FGS, Father Christmas won't come at all if you continue.

Where are all the other MNers with a ridiculous sense of guilt Right vs Wrong?

I feel so alone.

FlameNPumpkins · 01/11/2008 14:38

Nah peachy - karma is def a point scoring system Let someone out in traffic = one point, cut someone up = minus one etc

BreevandercampLGJ · 01/11/2008 14:38

I am really shocked at the low level of morals on here.

Peachy · 01/11/2008 14:39

just a point but if Argos still operate the same policies they used to, they only pay the supplier after the goods have been sold and not returned- in this case I would suspect its the supplier not Argos that would make a loss, and quite often these are small concerns- a friend had to stop selling to Argos years ago after their warehouse staff broke numerous articles in transit and he lost on the sales

UpJacobscreek · 01/11/2008 14:39

Ok I will ring them can only ring the national number though as they don't give out local stores numbers .

FlameNPumpkins · 01/11/2008 14:39

Obv if you are really nice for many years, eventually you will build up enough points for murder to just set you back to 0 rather than a huge deficit

Peachy · 01/11/2008 14:39

OK Flame, i'll let you rerite a few world faith cos I like you

Its an energy system not points

PMSL

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 14:40

"the items were given freely"

No, a mistake was made. If everybody agreed that it was given freely or more specifically the OP and Argos then it would be fine but that's not what happened.

You morally-devoid harridans.

FlameNPumpkins · 01/11/2008 14:41

Energy/points, same thing

Tis Flameism, a rapidly growing faith in which karma (Flama) works on points, and you must eat chocolate every Friday.

Peachy · 01/11/2008 14:41

UPJC- do not offer to take back to store- seriosuly their responsibility to collect not your to hoik it back

That really is fair

filthymindedSixSixSixen · 01/11/2008 14:42

I'd take it back immediately.

I couldn't bear to have anyuthing HSM in the house

FlameNPumpkins · 01/11/2008 14:42

I am starting to sway with the calling them

THIS is why I wouldn't ask on MN for the advice

UpJacobscreek · 01/11/2008 14:43

I will call them when dp gives me the phones he has hidden from me .

OP posts:
EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 01/11/2008 14:44

I'd keep it!

No actually I wouldn't as I have lads... I would take it back and get the cash!

Their mistake.

Sazisi · 01/11/2008 14:44

lol filthy

I'd ring them, explain everything and tell them to come and get it.

Sazisi · 01/11/2008 14:46

If they tell you to keep it, you could let dc's choose one thing each and donate the rest to charity shop or something (you don't want house choc-a with HSM tat )
