Hope I'm not tempting fate with that thread title Grin
This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations Smile .

You are all wonderful and I’m now going back to my mince pie and stollen (never too early!).

The travel cork board thing reminds me:
a while ago I was out with my sister and she saw a similar thing but of the UK- I think it was scratch areas you had been or put a pin in something like that. She would love that but I can’t for the life of me remember where I saw it or what make it was. Anyone else know?

https://amzn.eu/d/0gMkk5C4 i have this one, not sure if it's the one you mean? but it's great. makes me want to explore the UK more!

Yes exactly that sort of thing although I thought this one was scratching off rather than sticking a pin in which would be better for DSis

Can anyone advise, we have lots of little children for Xmas gifts (about 10-12) so only want to spend about £5-10 each, so far bought a book each and maybe some sweets/chocolate, but what else could I get?

Colouring books and colouring pens/pencils
If you go to the works they have 4 for £20 on the activity/craft sets which works out quite well.
If they are quite young then check Lidl/Aldi for orchard toys games, they are usually £4-5 and quite a good pick for little ones.

Re scratch maps, we had one but after a couple of years it seemed to sort of perish and wouldn’t scratch off anymore. So there’s a deadline for visiting everywhere 😂

If anybody sees a deal on the kindle colorsoft could you please give me a shout out? Thanks

I bought one of these a while back and it was very disappointing. It's called ColorSOFT for a reason. The colours were so pastel and muted they were barely visible on the screen.

Georgieporgie29 · 22/09/2026 21:20

@Namechangefordaughterevasion oh no. This is what my DD has asked for for Christmas. Is it totally rubbish? There’s another one that is more expensive, I wonder if that’s any better 🤔

I hate that most decent things are out of stock before 7am though 🙄.

Ah, an advantage of my keeping ridiculously late hours. I am trying to get to sleep earlier but only sometimes manage it.

If you like the sort of things I do you could just try my links as soon as you wake up? I have no children to buy for, though, so I don't search for their things.

Scentish do some nice bath bombs a bit cheaper then lush, they are a fairly small company based in Lancashire. They also do lovely wax melts

I love this website, a great find! Thank you :)
