My daughter wants a set of Our Place pans, and I'd love to get them for her, but they are £££, so if anyone happens to know of a deal there, that would be amazing. I don't know if they do Black Friday deals, or if they might go on the Amazon one.

Any recommendations for bundle of Japanese Kit Kats (not just Japanese sweets)?

Oh I'd also love these. Have seen some in Etsy but not sure if there is somewhere else to try first

I’m after a heated throw. Wasn’t there issues with Debenhams delivery not long ago. Or am I making stuff up?

ILoveCatsAndKittens · 21/09/2026 19:32

Asda have the tubs of roses, celebrations etc sweets down to £4. Is that about as cheap as they go?
Debating whether to buy now or wait to see if they come down?
I’ve got 8 teachers/transport to buy for. Usually get something a bit more exciting but thinking of chocs this year as trying to save money.

PearlsTeapot · 21/09/2026 19:39

@ILoveCatsAndKittens £3.95 in Tesco for Celebrations.

I always say a Starbucks/costa £5 voucher is a brilliant gift for teachers, in my school we'd all take our chocs/biscuits etc to a local care home as we just got so many.

Any recommendations on what to get for teachers (both make and female) that's both desirable and a bargain?

There's a fab fellow called Gordy on the isle of wight who makes little wooden snowmen that he wood burns names onto. They're £5 each including a unique bobble hat, and it £4 to have up to £15 delivered. They make fun, budget friendly teacher gifts in my experience. Though most teachers I know still prefer a handmade card over anything.

I found some on eBay.

I’m feeling a bit out of the loop…. Can anyone tell me about tamagotchis? Or similar sorts of things? Is there a good type/brand etc that would be suitable for a 6yo? Bargains obviously appreciated.

Any ideas for an 8 and 6 year old girl? £10 - £15 and small enough to package and send abroad.

i was looking at the k-pop sticker doll book but think that might be too young g for the 8 yo.

I think k-pop demon hunters has sort of migrated down the age brackets. It’s now v popular with the pre-school - early years bunch, so I imagine it isn’t on trend even by 8?

How about construction toys for the younger one? Magnetiles or Lego?

shirleyval · 21/09/2026 20:42

NEXT have 3 for 2 on wrapping paper sets. I didn't see it advertised but noticed it in the small print when browsing. Some lovely designs so I ordered 3 sets and 3 sets of the corresponding gift bags.

My dd is 8 in Jan. She recently really enjoyed doing the top model sticker kittens book so ive ordered her the dog dress up one for Christmas. Just thinking could get a dog one for one and kitten for the other.

She also has a top model make up book where its faces inside and you put make up on them.

These are also quite popular - foil art packs with different themes (this Christmas one looks like good value) - https://amzn.eu/d/06U9dMXW

As we are mentioning products tested on animals, I think it's also important people are aware that Weleda was tested on people in concentration camps.

@ShyMaryEllenthere are some Our Place pans in Tkmaxx online. I'm not sure how the prices compare, but worth a look.

I agree with Pp, all my DDs friends say they’re no longer bothered about KPop so that was a short lived fad it seems! (At least for their age).

I think a lot of them tend to like pets type toys. Kittycorns and little live pets etc. If I were posting it I’d probably get a Polly pocket - they all seem to have little pets (and are compact). Or squishville?
