Small Business Supporters- Christmas

I know there’s a long standing Christmas bargains thread, but I thought it might be worth starting a thread for people who want to support small businesses this Christmas?

Not only are they a bit cheaper in many areas but our support probably means far more to them than it does to Amazon etc. So, this is a thread for those of us who want to help small businesses grow and, perhaps, pick up a bargain along the way!

So, as someone who will only be buying from Small Businesses this Christmas - hit me with your best buys. And, tell the rest of us what you really want (perfumes, candles, paintings, slippers etc) and let’s see who we can support this Christmas 🌟

best handmade chocolates, always get them for birthdays.

What a shame they have succumbed to the ghastly trend of AI pictures of their products, though, that's put me right off.

Since posting on here last year, I’ve found and bought from:

Wildrace - incredible soy wax candles

Pott’d - really imaginative craft kits. My dd is absolutely crazy about their Tiny Yums range

Selfie Craft Co - pyjamas and other items that kids can colour in

Hooded Owls - potion making kits

Lovely Skincare - great packaging and some fun and unusual scents

Bleppington · 29/08/2026 16:58

Most of the women in my family will be getting a pair of Mardy Pants 🤣 I discovered them at a festival earlier this year and am hooked, my bum has never been better dressed or comfier!

We had a potion kit as a present from hooded owls and I have them on my list for dd at Xmas as she enjoyed it so much

When you never know what to get a young child or the mother as life changes. www.littlesonny.com

Little life saver for me right now, trolley/high chair insert. Even seen pictures they can be used in swings but not tried that yet.

I'm getting prepared early this year so already I have ordered

Battle Fragrance (Home Fragrance) - The Christmas Bundle was beautiful. Extra points for a little note inside from the seller as I'm a sucker for that sort of stuff.

Cocoa Collective (Hot chocolate) - Milk Chocolate Drinking Chocolate, which was incredibly decadent last year but they sold out so I am stocking up early this year! It's not that cheap, but a little goes a long way.

SuryaLuna (Soaps) - Which someone mentioned last year and was the most beautiful soap I have ever seen. 100% recommend. More expensive than you might find on the high-street, but far more beautiful and nicer on the skin.

Wood Wired Designs - (Wired creations of dogs & cats on driftwood). I got one last year and never reviewed. Really lovely & the maker did my specific specs of having one cocker spaniel slightly larger than the other. They have an Etsy store as well, which is where I originally discovered them through a separate recommendation on here last year

@Bleppington will try that chocolate shop once they're making again. Gutted they had to pause because of the heat.

I love this place, have ordered multiple times over the last couple of years. You can also order personalised sets from them. They are an actual manufacturer, so not like the ones who sell melted down mass produced crayons on etsy.

Just had a look, it's a shame they don't have finished product pictures on their website!

This thread is an excellent idea, thanks for starting it off.

Yeah it's very much a one-woman-band and I get the feeling the owner isn't very techy Confused but they do have a facebook group (which is private) and a public instagram with loads of photos!

Discovered a fabulous place called cocoa Joe's on the weekend, selling hot chocolate and chocolate buttons. It was completely delicious! Highly recommend

Can I flag up The Starfish Project - lovely jewelery which is nicely packaged and the profits support trafficked women. There are a few items on sale at the moment. https://starfishproject.org.uk/

@Londonmummy66 thanks for linking, absolutely love cause to support!

It probably says a lot about me that the first thing I did was skip past the jewelry toward the home decor. Love a bit of home decor and those bowels are beautiful

I’ve just bought a couple of prints from https://scandal-broth.com/ She sells lino prints and they were very well received as gifts!

Another chocolatier recommendation from me:

William Curly - exceptionally good chocolate; the couture boxes make great gifts, beautiful packaging with wonderful and interesting flavour combinations and best caramel ever tasted! The nostalgia range (think posh Jaffa cakes, snickers etc) make great stocking fillers too.

Lucy & Jane is a jewellery company I’ve recently discovered and I’ll be using a lot for Christmas gifts because they have such a wide range of the most adorable stud earrings. You name it, they’ve got it in an earring! All sterling silver and a deal if you buy 3 pairs.

Bare Kind - bamboo socks in such fun designs, and each one is for a different animal charity.

Can recommend https://islesoapco.com/
I bought several soaps last year including a soap on a rope for the shower and a shaving soap in a tin for DH, both really lovely and excellent quality. The shaving soap is actually still going, though just about to run out. I will definitely be buying again.

This chocolate company has been recommended to me after a conversation at the weekend about British chocolate makers, decent ingredients and ethos, and the chances to Cadburys that mean it's not really proper chocolate anymore apparently. I love dark chocolate so Cadburys won't be a first choice for me anyway. https://www.harryschocs.co.uk/ championing autistic people.
