This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Checking in 🥰

Motnight · 23/08/2025 18:53

Checking in . Rarely post but have got some fantastic bargains through previous threads!

psuedocream3 · 23/08/2025 18:54

Checking in too. Already sorted the younger kids in the family, really nice toys at a brilliant price!

Just need gifts for three teen girls now.

Enko · 23/08/2025 18:55

Another check in. Mine are all adults so I find it harder to find fun good stuff.

minerva7 · 23/08/2025 19:00

Checking in!!! Thanks Reastie!
Jeez another year by already. I’ve already started thanks to the last pre-Xmas thread. Only 2 bits though and big family so I rely on these threads for bargains!
Ill be back to post any I see 🧑‍🎄

watchuswreckthemic · 23/08/2025 19:32

Checking in also! I’m trying to be patient to wait for the kids to go to their dads tomorrow so I can review what I’ve actually bought and hidden!
I have got some stocking fillers and I know a few people were asking so I’ll try and take some pics.

IlovePond · 23/08/2025 19:41

My hauls have arrived!

Best quality/value items:

Washing up brushes, sponges, tea towels, bag clips

Bottle bags with strap

Acrylic initial keyrings, (although why did I order 3 with my own initial on? 🙈)

Phone bag

Extremely small, (as in small child size - much much smaller than in the picture), cord bag. I have zero idea what to do with it in the absence of small children, but it’s cute

Terrible:

Oil sprayer - can’t see how to clean it properly
Two x underbed storage zip up things - appalling quality - fit only for the bin

What the heck was I thinking?

Mickey Mouse scrunchie, and animal make up headbands, (actually very nice, but see above!)
Bookmarks - I now have 60 pieces of card, (rather than the magnetic metal ones I thought I’d ordered!)

Surprisingly ok:

Black joggers and socks thrown in on a whim for DH. No way are those joggers cotton as claimed, but they fit and are not as ghastly as some he already wears!

welshgirl666 · 23/08/2025 19:45

Had an email that fragrance world are doing bogof. Always found them really good for imitation aftershaves.

disappointedconfused · 23/08/2025 19:48

I usually shop all year round as a single mum of 3 including set of pre school twins who also have a bday very close to Xmas 😬

excuse the ignorance but was is the shopping site “OHS” ?

ChristmasMad1 · 23/08/2025 18:32

No!! I thought it was regular-ish as i thought they had a 50% sale a few weeks/months ago. I was hoping to catch the next one (if there is one), I need to get some stocking fillers! Do you think there will be another one?

No idea, I'm afraid. I could be totally wrong...

Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic · 23/08/2025 20:01

Hi all. Same as always I've nc.
Been waiting for this thread to start. The years go so quick!
Can I ask, does anyone remember how to find the hallmark christmas wrapping bundle on amazon? I can't seem to find it

Nowdontmakeamess · 23/08/2025 20:02

Made it on for the first thread! And I’ve already started thanks to the Amazon Haul deal, items haven’t arrived yet so not sure how good they’ll be but feeling pleased with myself to have started so early this year.

Flubadubba · 23/08/2025 20:05

My Amazon Haul haul was mainly cabinet knobs. We'll see what I think when it arrives this week, as the whole lot only cost me £5! 😂

OneKindBear · 23/08/2025 20:06

It's back on! I'm excited. Anyone knows where to get a good tree this year?

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 23/08/2025 20:14

Absolutely agree with @swampwitch0. I’ve learnt over the years that this is the time to buy as there will be big discounts at the end of the summer.
When the kids are back in school, thoughts turn to Christmas and there will be an annual increase in prices in the run up to Christmas. Any discounts then will not be as good as they are now.
I always get fab bargains and people think I’ve spent more than I have.

Fingers crossed that they do another one, even if it's 50%.

RaymondPeterfellow · 23/08/2025 20:22

Checking in for Christmas! Have just put an order in on Discount Dragon, they have lots of stocking fillers for young girls/ teens. I saw lip balms, nail varnish, bath salts. They also have Ariana Grande and Marc Jacobs perfume at great prices. Worth a trawl through and free delivery over £40!

InbetweenDreams · 23/08/2025 20:27

I just bought some bits from Argos.

I’d had a couple of things in my basket that were 2 for £15, but today they were also 3 for £20, plus a full price item was 50% off.

Might be worth a look - there was a Harry Potter Lego set, pets alive toys, some really nice wooden toddler toys - all sorts in the 3 for £20.

Ewock · 23/08/2025 20:37

Hi all, something we do in the run up to Christmas is workshops in Hobbycraft. Ive already booked my dd into a mache gingerbread house one (its made from mache not gingerbread but couldn't think what to call it 😂).

weebarra · 23/08/2025 21:00

Thank you Reastie! I know it’s time to start as DS2 and DD have just had their birthdays!

Just to add to this, make sure to join the Hobbycraft club (the App is best) for money off vouchers, freebies and birthday discounts. Also, they regularly do 20% off workshops.

weareallqueens · 23/08/2025 21:41

Just reposting one from the end of the last thread in case anyone can help:

Anyone got experience of furbys? I’m thinking of getting them for DDs (6 and 8) this year. Are they a bit flash in the pan? I’m also seeing them for £35 each - is that a good price? TIA.
I also meant to add that The Entertainer has a big buy one get one half price, which appears to include lots of things that are already discounted. Good for craft kits and similar.
