This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Checking in 🎄

Does anyone have any recommendations for nice wrapping paper? Any reputable Etsy stores/websites? For reasonable prices 😊

Elizabeth Arden visible difference moisture cream is down to £10 on Amazon. It’s my failsafe MIL Christmas present and hope it helps someone else out.

@GriseldaClement thank you! The exfoliating cleanser is also on special offer so have just treated myself to both!

Not exactly cheap but whittle fish do lovely wrapping paper (and cards). They've just announced their Christmas stock. You get two sheets in one wrap and it's 3 wraps for 5£. It's perfect for wrapping presents for special people (wasted on children! 😂).

I CAN ONLY GET £3 OFF. making them £11.99

You click the box to get the £3 off, but then on the payment page - where it says use a gift card/voucher or promo code, you put code GDH5RCFD in.

Wow @GriseldaClement that’s a great bargain! Thanks.

Thank you! Have ordered this as a stocking filler for my mum xx

GriseldaClement · 24/08/2025 16:00

Glad the Elizabeth Arden moisturiser bargain has been useful. I forgot to say the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lipstick type balm is down from £23 to £11.70 on Amazon. Great all round present/stocking filler.

Scout2016 · 24/08/2025 16:06

If people need bath bombs and soaps Bomb Cosmetics has some mystery bundles such as 5 sliced soaps for £10, 5 bath bombs for £15 and 15 bath bombs for just under £30 (click in "gifts" then "tiktok bundle" . I will use some for me, some as add ons for family / in stockings and some in a gift bags for people like Brownie leaders and school birthday parties. I have bought them before and there weren't any sweary ones and they were all different but obviously it is a gamble.

WELCOME22 works if you haven't used it already, FIZZME10 or BANKHOLIBUBBLES for spends under postage threshold, which is £30 I think.

It says it’s not sealed and has no use by date though! Also made in Spain so looks like a knock off.

Ooh, after the Lakeland free postage tip, I went to buy some scouring sponges and accidentally got a birthday present for DH (23 Dec):

This is the type of pan Aldi did a version of the other year (a bit cheaper) and I missed. Please to get this (though it's not a bargain, as I couldn't find a discount, other than the 10% sign up one, and I'm already signed up) at not a bad price. Plus a 10 year guarantee.

The McDonalds toys in happy meals are currently playmobile, they can be bought for 99p without the happy meal - got a sloth today, (this will vary between stores), think it’s the first week they’re available

Seems a reasonable price for a kids pop up tent. It’s a long time since mine played in one but I remember using it in their bedroom, garden and beach. Would probably pad out their stocking.

Happy to see this thread, mostly a lurker for ideas.

DD’s are 10 and 6, no clue what to get them at all! Very jealous of those who are already sorted/half sorted I’m never that organised!

I’ve a 13 month old boy and a 10 month old girl to buy for this Xmas. I was thinking mega blocks? Would you appreciate these for your toddlers. My DCs are 18&20 now so I’ve no idea but do remember that the blocks got many years of play.

Alternatively, any ideas welcome. Even better if it’s a bargain!

Megablox are great but if you think their parents would be open to preloved/second hand ones I’d definitely buy them from FB marketplace rather than brand new. You could always buy a nice storage container for them with the money you’ve saved. We had the table that went with them for our 2 which we bought from marketplace and then sold on there when we were done with it. Same for Duplo - always loads of marketplace near us!

I’ve wrapped presents in tea towels/scarves before. Tea towels were from Ulster Weavers and TKMaxx and scarves were collected from charity shops.

swampwitch0 · 24/08/2025 17:55

Not Christmas related, but anyone seen any good deals on Phillips lumea ?

PearlsPearl · 24/08/2025 18:29

@BeetlebumAndBackAgain are they a legit website? Cos those prices are so good and I LOVE Espa.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 24/08/2025 18:31

@BeetlebumAndBackAgain
thanks I ordered.

BeetlebumAndBackAgain · 24/08/2025 18:55

@PearlsPearl I haven’t myself ordered from Discount Dragon before but they pop up every now and then as recommended and have a good Trustpilot rating. I’m thinking of getting these as fillers for crackers and if I do will be happy enough the site is legit.
