I'm taking a punt here that we won't need another thread before Christmas, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage
www.find-book.co.uk
www.find-cd.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.find-game.co.uk (as in PS4/xbox etc)

I had no emails from them at all, no apology or anything! The refund just appeared one day and I guessed my order had been cancelled.

I chased up the Flower and White refund today. I got a standard email back saying it could take 10 days to show on my account, but I've just had another email saying the refund has just been issued - I'm not confident it would have been done had I not noticed and followed up.

Niche, but anyone with a left handed younger child, these pencils are down to £2. Usually £4. Great for a stocking filler!

Did anyone actually get a free gift with their sock shop orders? Just came to wrap both my >£40 orders and neither had anything I hadn't ordered in there, which didn't occur to me until they emailed me to remind me about the free gifts with every order over £40.

I made 2 orders and both my free gifts were included, I'd picked boxer shorts for ds and dh.

Thanks for just eat. I have that horrible bug thats going around, but there was no milk in the house. Got milk, then chipolatas, chocolates, pringles and ice cream for about £12. Epic- saves me leaving from under my blanket to give the children breakfast!

Lego suitcase £10.80 at amazon. Nice for you ones if you need so.ething to even up presents or for nieces and nephews.here Lego]]

Wellwhoknewthat · 19/12/2024 20:06

@Arewesureitisntbedtime could you get them something consumable instead such as one of the hampers upthread?

TepidBathofManagedDecline · 19/12/2024 20:08

Obviously I missed the choosing options for sock shop. Dammit!

Converse sale link

The link I was sent via email

See the above post 👆 works on cream and black only. The pink doesn’t discount further

Edited

You are unreal!!! I just ordered some for me. 👏 What a total bargain. Thanks so much

Marszu7 · 19/12/2024 21:05

Has anyone got any Argos or Smyths codes please? Forgot FC25 on switch was on the list 🤦🏻‍♀️

Chocolateteabag · 19/12/2024 21:25

Ooh and now I too have some new converse on their way for ME!!! Thanks @hugsandpugs (Star shopping enabler!)

NoForwardingAddress · 19/12/2024 21:28

Does anyone know how to get a discount at Harvey nichols? I just missed the 15% off beauty, and the sign up 10% doesn't seem to work. I've emailed HN but no response.

That jigsaw advent calendar is back to £3.99 again.here Advent jigsaw]]

That's also linking to the Jamie Oliver book rather than a jigsaw.

cheesychipsontheoche · 19/12/2024 21:33

There was some talk of projectors in earlier threads - this looks decent with a 30% discount to redeem on Amazon bringing down to about £39

LoveHearts69 · 19/12/2024 21:39

Thanks so much for posting the converse bargain! ❤️

Has anyone seen any Christmas crackers (preferably bargains) that would work for both toddlers and grandparents? I saw some before that had small teddies in which were really cute but they sold out!

Or just any suitable for toddlers and I can get more traditional ones for the adults (one toddler is only one and tends to put things in his mouth still so the classic very tiny fiddly toy ones aren’t great but I know he’ll be furious to be left out! 😅)

SeeTheBatsFly · 19/12/2024 21:42

I step away to deal with some real life issues and I miss so much!

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads
@beetr00 Thank you, those are good suggestions, though youngest is ideally just after the mini figures. He's building an army 😆.

@RainbowPhilosophy that's a pity that the old site closed, thank you for the suggestion for a replacement.

@Puffalicious that's an idea, I think I know the type she'd like 😊, thank you

WimbyAce · 19/12/2024 21:42

Anyone else that was thinking about Punirunes, I thought I got a good deal but they are now £5.99 at the Entertainer!

MyPithyPoster · 19/12/2024 21:46

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 19/12/2024 12:11

@ilovechristmas24 I've sent you £8 off £80 if that helps by PM

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads
I don’t suppose you’ve got a spare Argos code have you please?
