I'm taking a punt here that we won't need another thread before Christmas, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage
www.find-book.co.uk
www.find-cd.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.find-game.co.uk (as in PS4/xbox etc)

Ah I found you all! For some reason I can't get on the previous thread, it keeps saying bad gateway anytime I click on it. I now have bargain hunting FOMO from what I might have missed.

Huge thanks to the posters about the etsy app discount, I've managed to get a nice hamper delivered half price for my Aunty who was my last tricky purchase. I think I am now officially done (barring any last minute twitches!).

Thank you Reastie and Chips and everyone on these threads, I wouldn't be able to do Christmas without you all 🎄❄☃🎁

Can I ask what the hamper is? Thank you

GROCERYXMAS gives £10 off just eat orders. Just ordered some Xmas food from our local co op that was in the 50% off section

Minimum spend £20 before you can apply the code.

I ordered maltesters, Yule log, ferrero rocher, 4 bottles of Pepsi max amongst other things x

Roundaboot · 19/12/2024 13:31

I held off all morning on the Converse and finally broke! My reasoning was that I'm a size 8 but they say they run small so I ordered a 9. DP and DS are both size 9 so I figured they'll fit someone in the house! (Or if not, they'll end up on Vinted!)

VeruccaSalty · 19/12/2024 12:42

@Christmasmcchristmasface the amount of times I have jumped on a bargain only to find the free postage doesn't cover NI or it's extortionate. Ulster Weavers was the worst...

Ulster Weavers was the biggest insult! Completely put me off them it was ridiculous postage

Those whose Flower and White marshmallow bar orders were cancelled - did you ever receive the refund? Mine still isn't showing on my CC app - not impressed with this company.

I had no emails from them at all, no apology or anything! The refund just appeared one day and I guessed my order had been cancelled.

IlovePond · 19/12/2024 13:39

Hi, for anyone wanting children’s Xmas PJs - just seen quite a few reduced to £2.99 a pair in Aldi SB aisle.

Also in Aldi: Gabby’s dollhouse wooden cake and tea shop reduced to £14.99

Arglefraster · 19/12/2024 13:42

Thank you the Etsy code!

some lovely needle minders on their way to me to complete the wee sewing pouches I'm making for my DDs

Edited

I just tried this on Sainsbury's, but it didn't work, but...you reminded me that JE had sent me a £10 voucher recently, so I used that instead. Lots of great stuff coming my way. Thank you! Xmas Smile

Warning to Northern Ireland shoppers

don’t excitedly rush to the Converse link to buy lovely shoes at bargain prices as it’s £15!!!! Delivery for us nearly a whole pair of shoes!
Bah Humbug Converse you’re now on the naughty list

I suppose NI folks should be thankful the company are still delivering to NI, given many have stopped/are stopping doing so (mind you, £15 is ridiculous nonetheless).

The most annoying shops/sellers, are those who clearly use Royal Mail for deliveries - Royal Mail do not charge higher for NI than they do for rest of UK.

Mind you, at least one retailer recently, can't recall which, had the decency to clearly show on their website that the standard deliveries applied to GB (Great Britain) only. Far too many get away with using UK, but excluding NI, when the UK is only such because it includes NI.

Am I another frustrated bargain shopper....erm, ....... yes 😁.

hiredandsqueak · 19/12/2024 14:33

Thank you for the Just Eat code stocked up on treats for whilst I have a houseful over Christmas plus the washing up liquid I always forget.

IlovePond · 19/12/2024 14:58

Hi,

Little kids’ Xmas Paw Patrol jumpers and similar, reduced to £2.99 today in my local Lidl.

Hayley1256 · 19/12/2024 15:04

The Range have between 35%-50% off christmas decorations, stocking, sacks, tree skirts etc

Loveaglassofsherry · 19/12/2024 15:57

Late to the party on this… Thanks everyone for the tips…

15% discount code for Pure cashmere: GIFTING15 (apologies if already posted, but it’s a present that always brings a smile)

Idea for DHs… One thing that was a surprise hit Fathers Day present in our house this year was the “Chicken Or Egg” quiz book. It sparked some fun nostalgic conversations and we play it after a meal with family and friends. Subsequently bought a copy (from Amazon) for a hard-to-buy-for smart arse brother-in-law and he enjoyed it too.

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 19/12/2024 16:03

I have one present left to sort for some very good friends. They have a very full house so I'm trying to think of something they already have and use that I could get them an upgraded version of rather than something that will take up more room. Anyone got any bright ideas?

cheesychipsontheoche · 19/12/2024 16:13

Bargain converse have been dispatched already.

Oh that was quick! Mine still say processing at the moment

hugsandpugs · 19/12/2024 16:25

Not a bargain but just to say very happy with the customer service @ discount dragon. They got back to me quickly and gave me the option of a full refund for the missing item or a credit to my account for future orders of £2 more than the refund.

I opted for refund as there’s nothing else I want on there at the moment and they’ve refunded already so very happy with their CS

mumtotwo11 · 19/12/2024 16:26

Does anyone know when FatFace start to reduce their stuff? xx

TheGirlWhoLived · 19/12/2024 16:32

There’s no way of getting a wentworth puzzle any cheaper is there? I’m about to lump £35 on 250 v small pieces of wood 😭

TepidBathofManagedDecline · 19/12/2024 16:38

Did anyone actually get a free gift with their sock shop orders? Just came to wrap both my >£40 orders and neither had anything I hadn't ordered in there, which didn't occur to me until they emailed me to remind me about the free gifts with every order over £40.

My free gift arrived. You did have to select your free gift at the checkout, so it was listed as part of the order
