Thread 14 - the one with BLACK FRIDAY!

1000 replies

Reastie · 26/11/2024 07:55

I think I always (or nearly always!) call the one with Black Friday this name. I'm assuming this thread will see us through the weekend and I'm not premature!!! Make sure you keep your Black Friday bargains genuine bargains - not everything that looks reduced actually is as good a deal as it looks.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Has anyone ever ordered pandora from amazon? Is it the real deal? Big offer on a big price item I'm after. I seem to remember ordering a charm ages ago and it just came in a clear bag.
Thanks in advance

Maybe a bit niche but Liberty have 30% off certain items so I bought my mum a lovely little jewellery case for her hearing aids.

Is anyone else experiencing a delay with a parcel from Beauty Outlet?

@TheChirpyWasp My second parcel after I'd shared the Wizard of Oz box bargains took several days longer than usual (and they had sold out when I went back for more) so it may be the Christmas Bargain Thread effect! It did arrive safely in the end though.

headshoulderskneestoesheart · 26/11/2024 20:49

Has anyone seen a good price on the Sol de Janeiro mini perfume sets? The best I've found is £33 on Sephora

picnicfuntimes · 26/11/2024 20:50

Qwertee have good reductions on quirky t shirts - my teens insist on them now as a tradition every Xmas.

Take20 for 20% off on very. I was sent this a few weeks ago but it said it expired on the 3rd of Nov
I tried it today and it's worked so still active.

Hi @IdentityCrisis101 Do you know what items the code works on?

I am reluctant to try because their checkout process is horrible and I end up competing checkout by mistake 😅

I wonder if anyone knows if the TK maxx versions differ from the standard 12 piece set? Obviously not the fluted plates but the plainer ones, side plates and bowls. I bought the set online for £71 but it’s not arrived yet and we now have an extra guest so I need to buy more! I saw them in TK Maxx but wasn’t sure if they’re identical. Thanks!

Yes, the normal side plates, large dinner plates and the cereal bowls are exactly the same as the boxed set - I've replaced one or two as I've broken them in the past (super clumsy me)

There were not any mugs or cups at my TKMaxx, although I have seen them in the past.

I just tried and it’s not working for me. Might be a new credit account?

Can any recommend a nice child's bottle, preferably with a straw mechanism, which doesn't leek?
We have been through soooo many which are rubbish, I'm hoping that with BF deals I can get a decent one for a good price!
Thank you

I would recommend cribstar! The handle metal bottle www.cribstar.co.uk/collections/water-bottles-and-accessories brilliant bottle if a little expensive but also can be personalised!

The Melissa and Doug Deluxe Magic Set is reduced to £26.39 or £22.43 with 15% baby wishlist on Amazon today which is a great discount. Tempted to buy it for my 8 year old, does anyone have this and can recommend?
link

Yep! It's really well made. Tricks are quite simple though, think my DS had it for his 6th birthday but has used it on and off for the last 3 years.
