Thread 14 - the one with BLACK FRIDAY!

1000 replies

Reastie · 26/11/2024 07:55

I think I always (or nearly always!) call the one with Black Friday this name. I'm assuming this thread will see us through the weekend and I'm not premature!!! Make sure you keep your Black Friday bargains genuine bargains - not everything that looks reduced actually is as good a deal as it looks.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Hi! My DD has just added an air up bottle to her Christmas list, I thought I was done and these are about £30! Has anyone seen these any cheaper? Thank you!

Has anyone seen any bargainous Minecraft single duvet sets? It's for a top up present so was hoping to find one for no more than £10. All I've seen so far is a Christmas one which I don't want

Try Online Home Store - I'm sure they have cover less duvets for around that price

BrieCamera · 30/11/2024 11:02

Do North Face ever have discount codes?

I’ve got a request for the Borealis bag in Navy/Tin/Grey but hoping to get it for less than £115 if possible!

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 30/11/2024 11:03

So annoying. Adanola have had great Black Friday deals in prior years but nothing the year I want leggings for DD. Has anyone got any ideas how to get them cheaper or seen any ultimate leggings on offer?

doistay · 30/11/2024 11:16

Has anyone had experience with a company called Goose & Gander? I'm trying to order some sweatshirts using a welcome code which was emailed to me for subscribing, but it's not accepting the code.

Cantthinkofadifferentname · 30/11/2024 11:18

@Reastie on page 38

redmimi · 30/11/2024 11:19

The Ariana Grande deluxe mini cracker is available on Amazon again for £14 and I just managed to order one. Thanks to whoever first mentioned it.

Yes - very good quality clothing and the customer service is usually proactive (though maybe not at the weekend).

I didn't receive a delivery last year and they not only sent a replacement, they also included a free T shirt and a handwritten note of apology.

The National Gallery: Masterpieces of Painting Hardcover – Illustrated

This book is back to £13 something, on Amazon. was £42 yesterday. Ordered it for myself, looks beautiful

motheronthedancefloor · 30/11/2024 11:33

any deals on garden centre visits/tours/places as MIL likes to visit such places. Also FIL likes kit cars so any deals related to them?

Ladyoftheapple · 30/11/2024 11:37

Does anyone happen to have an Argos code? 🙏 x

TNF have 30% off spends of over £200 on their website plus free delivery.

If its only that item that you want to buy, it's currently £103 on Amazon, so slightly better.

Loads of outdoors shops sell TNF, but you'd have to trail around looking / searching online to find the best deal. Tbh, it's the black one that mostly gets reduced iirc (used to work in an outdoors shop)

If you’re looking for a runner in your life there’s some good deals on the parkrun website.

I especially recommend the Goodr sunglasses. I have several pairs and this is a great price.

Hi, I’m looking for a decent curling tong for my daughter (she likes the ones where the tong holds the hair as you curl instead of having to wrap the hair around yourself whilst burning your skin!)
She was rather taken with the GHD fat curling tong (need it to be at least 26mm) but as she already has her main present I’m looking for one £25 or under, ideally a decent one that has a good reduction on it.
Yes, I know I’m very specific! 😂 Thanks

Carrie76 · 30/11/2024 12:12

@BrieCamera theres 30% off north face for black friday

Are you using it on sale stuff? I don't think it works on anything other than full price. Agree they're a great company though.

I ordered on 5th November and am still waiting for delivery, the website states mail problems in Canada are causing issues . Order was originally due the week I ordered , then end November, now who knows . No email update or reply to email asking , just having to rely on website updates . I think it’s dependant on what you order .

Notino has the Babyliss tongs on offer today, including 32mm, with code BLACK. Much cheaper than anywhere else.

zeebee · 30/11/2024 13:23

Would also like to know if there such a thing as an Adanola discount please. Very frustrating.

RJnomore1 · 30/11/2024 13:26

Thank you for the Ariana grande cracker on Amazon. I had an extra 15% off when I set it up on a subscribe and save making it £11.90... I just need to remember to cancel within 6 months now!

OrangeCorduroy · 30/11/2024 13:38

Celtic & Co £20 off £20 spend if anyone wants it - can't use it on sale items or cleaning products.
The Mumsnet classic sheepskin insoles are £15 and I couldn't really afford anything else so offering up here in case someone can use it 😊

Just to add that there's only 30% off at The North Face when you spend over £200.

OrangeCorduroy · 30/11/2024 13:39

Just realised it's a generic one - oh well! Maybe someone didn't already know about it!
