Thread 14 - the one with BLACK FRIDAY!

1000 replies

Reastie · 26/11/2024 07:55

I think I always (or nearly always!) call the one with Black Friday this name. I'm assuming this thread will see us through the weekend and I'm not premature!!! Make sure you keep your Black Friday bargains genuine bargains - not everything that looks reduced actually is as good a deal as it looks.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

If you have any voucher codes to share (or want to check for any) then have a look https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212144-sharing-voucher-codes

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes here . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I am trying to find a wooden toy fridge freezer to go with my daughter's kitchen. Aldi usually do them I think, but obviously I haven't seen them yet.

WimbyAce · 29/11/2024 20:14

Someone asked about the board game Operation a while back. It's now on offer on Amazon and Smyths for £14.99. I wouldn't recommend The Works version, it's cheap for a reason, I got the dinosaur one last year and the bits to remove were rubbish.

Theraffarian · 29/11/2024 20:15

My protein discovery pack of 7 bars , reduced to £10.99 and free delivery with code DISCOVERY Here

Unfortunately doesn’t stack with other codes , but not a bad price if you need to buy for a protein bar person .

Anyone finding this Friday to be terrible for deals? Everything that I've had on radar for gifts has been excluded from codes or the same discount that I've seen for weeks. I've been BOMBARDED with texts and emails all day and seen deals at all! In fact it's made me want to go real life shopping and I love shopping online usually.

nicky2512 · 29/11/2024 20:16

Heated fleeces down to £39.99 on Lakeland. Free delivery and blue light card gets another £2 off.

I’m looking for Air pods 4 with noise cancellation. Has anyone seen any amazing bargains?!

evtheria · 29/11/2024 20:17

@MrsGnome Thank you for pointing out Asda toy offers stacking! I never shop there but have ordered the robot rollercoaster for DS, cheaper than other results in Google shopping.

I just got my Arran Aromatics parcel with a hand wash in after a PP mentioned them on here - it smells great! First thing I've done is gone onto their website to see what else I should have got.

Today's deal is 40% off just about everything.

(Also, I got the seaweed and sage hand wash and it is really nice, quite a masculine scent but also smells clean and fresh, in case anyone was wondering!)

Has anyone seen any good deals for spray paint? It’s for using on metal. It doesn’t need to be specifically for outdoors. Thank-you.

PlanBea · 29/11/2024 20:39

Also to add, anyone considering the Deans Shortbread black Friday hamper, it turns up in a plain white cardboard box like this (ribbon reel for scale). Giftable, but not fancy. I bought a tote bag from their website to fill with the bits (I think it was £2?) and it's a little on the small side for the whole hamper, so one of the boxes of shortbread accidentally fell into my mouth. Oh no.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any deals on the Fortnite credit gift cards - I can't remember the name of them despite DS telling me multiple times. Happy to pay full price but thought I'd check on here first!

IlovePond · 29/11/2024 20:49

15% more off the already reduced Clarins a/c at ASOS with code: BLACKFRI which brings it down to £64.60.
The code works on lots of other things too.

Usbourne Dolly Dressing sticker books, two for £7.50 at Amazon. The Magical Kingdom one is in John Lewis for £7.99! Ordered one for my daughter and her friend. There are other book options to combine the deal with but those are the only two sticker ones in the deal.
