I have two - 14 and 18

Apart from socks and smellies, unusual Korean noodles and sweets have gone down well in previous years, but I am really running out of ideas!

Do you follow Mum of Boys and Mabel on Facebook/instagram? Lots of ideas and deals there- literally just opened it and there was a stocking fillers under £10 post with an AirPod cleaning kit at £2.99.

Bbq1 · 20/10/2025 23:18

My friend back in school had a mum that used to put condoms in the brothers stockings! Not something I would ever do with my ds!

Just bumping this for 2025. I am struggling with DS this year.

Good idea!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 21/10/2025 10:29

My DS is 17 this year and it’s getting slightly tricky. A few ideas/things I’ve got so far…
Golf bit - novelty balls, tees, ninja tee holder
Gym towel
Spinning fidget cube
Magnetic fidget pen
Rituals shower gel
Muscle soak
After shave balm
Airduster can
Nano block set of a footballer from his team
Book on card tricks as he’s been practicing some recently
Guitar picks
Charger cables
USB multiplug (as he keeps stealing mine!)
Nice tea bags
Sweets/chocolate

He’s not into things like noodles/interesting snacks/drinks etc.

Previous hits in case it helps others…
Nike drawstring sports bag
Nike sports socks
Grip socks
Hair power/sea salt spray
Mini aftershaves
Highway code flashcards (if they’re at driving age!)
Mini power bank
Wireless phone charger stand
Trainer wipes
Keyboard putty
Gift Republic sometimes do some fun stuff…I got him takeaway recipe cards last year which he’s enjoyed!

Thanks for bumping this thread.
DS will be 15, I save ideas for future stockings as well. I will ask DS after Christmas what he liked in his stocking and make notes for the following year.
I have 5 categories edible, smellies, stationary, interest and other. I try and get an even amount of items in each section so it isn't mainly edible items and it helps me plan for both my DS and DD.

So far my DS has:
Sea related mug - is a navy cadet
Jelly beans with 36 different flavours
Costa tiramasu
Whittards hot chocolate
Ear buds
Cotton pads
Packet of tissues
Extra large coloured paperclips
8 in 1 screwdriver pen
50 things every gentleman should know book
(was going to add banana boots but he needed them for rugby season)

On my list to get - including ideas taken from mumsnet in 24/25

  • air pod cleaner
  • fitness dice
  • fast charger lead
  • funny coaster
  • can of mocktail
  • extendable marshmallow fork - need to find the post
  • pringles glue stick - need to find the post
  • branded boxers and trainer liners

Items from last year which were not edible/smellies which he liked:
portable battery pack (will hold 3 phone charges) folding spoon for food flask
travel card holder keyboard putty glasses repair kit spot covers
fine stabilo pens post it notes speech bubbles sushi kit nail clippers
USB memory stick ear buds and holder fluffy socks glasses holder

Relaxing22 · 21/10/2025 12:31

How do I search in a post ? I need to find the post on pringles glue stick and the marshmallow forks.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 21/10/2025 12:34

It was me who mentioned the extendable marshmallow fork. I got it from Etsy and you can get them personalised too.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 21/10/2025 12:38

@Relaxing22actually it was on another thread (as was the Pringles glue stick post)…look at the thread Stocking fillers for a 15 year old boy.

Iloveagoodnap · 21/10/2025 12:40

Oooh thanks for bumping, this was a useful thread last year. Although I gave my two teen boys keyboard putty and trainer wipes and they were a bit bemused by them! I haven’t started shopping for them this year yet. I did see a little speaker thing advertised on TikTok that you just sit your phone on and it amplifies the sound and I thought that looked good but I’m never sure about the safety of electronics that I see advertised on there.

One of them got a hamster recently and I’ve seen ‘Hamster Mail’ advertised which is a subscription of hamster treats and I thought that might be well received if I paid for a year’s subscription to that.

mamaduckbone · 20/10/2025 20:24

I've got some great ideas from this thread before, so looking forward to new ones this year (although ds1 turns 20 in November so not strictly speaking a teenager any more)
I haven't bought anything this year yet but previous hits were trainer balls and Wetherspoons top trumps!

Wetherspoons Top Trumps were the fun hit of last Christmas - wonder where they are now?

This is inspired - just gone down a rabbit hole of back issues and got a few for my grunge-obsessed DS - thank you!

I know this is nearly a year old but thanks for the suggestion! DS has massively got into music over the last year, and loves 90s music so I think he'd really be into an old Kerrang (it'd be nostalgic for me too!)

levantine · 21/10/2025 17:57

Ooh I'd forgotten I'd started this thread! On the hunt for this year again....

Thank you for your reply @CoffeeChocolateWine
I have a copied and pasted a few of the stocking fillers threads now so I can go back and look at ideas as there is a few of them each year.

I'm also thinking of getting my son onion goggles which I spotted on another thread as he likes cooking and often comments about his eyes when cutting onions!

EllaPaella · 05/11/2025 13:09

I’ve pretty much finished my teen DS’s stocking now.
I’ve got:
A Yeti water bottle
PJ’s
Lush Christmas pudding bath bomb, Creme de Menthe mouthwash tablets and monster shower gel
Whittards Luxury Pistachio hot chocolate
Tiger Balm
Nike socks
Still to get: sweets, chocolate orange and a book.

Waffles21 · 05/11/2025 15:31

I’ve bought some hot honey, and moth cocktails to pop in ds 17 stocking, cocktails are on offer at the moment. Am also looking at Jamiroquai T-shirts in Primark ( he wanted to go but we left it too late!!) . Things I’ve bought in previous years which have gone down well are dots for spots, a scalp massager, face masks, moon ball, magic plastic ( blow your own balloons), cooling towels, small games, marshmallows and toasting fork, trainer cleaning kit and I bought a job lot of racing things, we all had one and raced them after lunch, it was good fun! Love the Highway Code flashcards idea thanks!

It’s a tradition in our house. DH gets a car one
I love looking at the adverts for stuff. I know that’s weird!

Ahwig · 05/11/2025 19:45

Ear pod holder cleaner.

CrispWinterSunshineBright · 05/11/2025 21:43

CrispWinterSunshineBright · 05/11/2025 21:58
