Have we got a stocking filler for teenage boys thread yet?

I have two - 14 and 18

Apart from socks and smellies, unusual Korean noodles and sweets have gone down well in previous years, but I am really running out of ideas!

@ronconcoke update: I’ve gone for the things you said. At least it’s another stocking filler!

Yep I think I'm going to have to do this too...

Shodan · 03/12/2024 13:42

I happened to pop into Lidl the other day and bought 2 x Airfix model kits (2 different tanks) which £6.99 each and just about jammable into a stocking.

No idea yet whether they'll be a success but given that DS1 (overgrown teenager of 28) is in the Reserves and likes tanks and ds2 (17) has built virtually all the Lego sets known to man, I'm cautiously optimistic!

17 year old DS has got so far:
A4 notebook
4 pack of his fave beer
Iced coffee cup
Coffee syrups
Oddballs pants
Uniqlo socks
Selection box
Small box of Guy Lian
Christmas Dinner flavour Pot Noodle (available in Tesco, got the idea from another thread on here!)
USB candle lighter
Coffee scented candle
Funny coaster
Selection of aftershave samples
Burts Bees lip balms
Fancy dried fruit snacks
Lego mini fig
Air pod cleaning tool

All I need to get is a soap on a rope (he's had one in his stocking every year since he was 3!) and some big packets of crisps/snacks. A few years ago I upgraded him from a smallish stocking to a big sack, thinking it would be easier to find things. And it is, hence being able to fit 4 cans of beer and an A4 notebook in! But it does mean that I feel I need things to bulk it out, so normally just some share size bags of crisps or similar.

Teenage nephew's stocking so far:

Travel mug with hot chocolate bomb
milkshake syrup
milk frother
Pocket sized book
hot sauce
Candy brought back from the US
Cologne also from US
Heated hand warmer/USB power bank in one
Toastabag from Lakeland

champagnetruffleshuffle · 04/12/2024 04:34

Great thread! @Roundaboot please could you link the posh dried fruit?

champagnetruffleshuffle · 04/12/2024 04:35

And what coffee syrups are people getting? I don't drink coffee but son loves it!

It's this Fruitfetti from H&B - never has it before but I thought it looked tasty and a bit healthier than all the sweets and chocolate!
The coffee syrups are from TK Maxx. They are usually good for that kind of thing

Can anyone suggest a good toiletries brand that's a step up from Lynx which is what he uses every day. Looking for something a bit nicer preferably a Shower gel & deodorant/anti perspirant set. Not seen him use anything in the form of skincare!

Probably L'Oréal, Bulldog or if you want to get really fancy, Spots & Stripes.

@ronconcoke I’ve just looked them up. Yeah I see what you mean. More ££ though. Hm. Could they maybe go over existing football socks! 🤔 depends how roomy the boots are…

You can’t put grip socks over football socks…you either need sock sleeves or they cut the feet off their own football socks. My DS uses Gain The Edge ones…he trains/plays 5 days a week so we have lots.

Rollergirl11 · 04/12/2024 22:09

Can always rely on Mumsnet to come up trumps!! Have ordered some Glorbs and the endescope camera thing for DS (16) and the Spoons top trumps for DD (18).

Has anyone ever played the game Encrypted? Keep seeing it all over my SM and think it looks fun. We do like a good card game and we’ve pretty much exhausted Cards against humanity as a family.

CrispWinterSunshineBright · 06/12/2024 08:01

Just ordered a couple of T-shirts and water bottles for my gym obsessed boys from Gymshark.

There are pants, bags socks etc on there too.

They have a sale on and 25% off with code EXTRA25 💪🏼💪🏿💪

Fantastic ideas everyone - thank you!
Does anyone have a link to the sparklers please?

I'm not in the UK, I just bought the sparklers from a toy shop. My kids have never had them as obviously 5th November isn't celebrated here, so I'm hoping they'll enjoy the novelty....

I’ve just bought mine an old kerrang magazine featuring his favourite band.

Could work for any hobby or interest

This is inspired - just gone down a rabbit hole of back issues and got a few for my grunge-obsessed DS - thank you!

Having read a thread from a previous year I've also gone with crimpits - toastie and wrap version for 15 year olds

Suck U.K. is really good for random stocking filler ideas

Thanks for the tip - I have just spent a small fortune on this online shop for my two teens and one tween, which I hadn’t heard of until your post x

WarriorN · 07/12/2024 06:32

The boy is 12 but really useful ideas, thank you.

Are glorbes any good?

He has to be constantly moving / throwing catching....!

Inthefreakmidwinter · 07/12/2024 08:09

Sorry I can’t see the post not but whoever suggested the Toast bags (ones you put in a toaster rather than a tasteful hessian tote 😉) I’ve added these, my son will love them, he’s obessed with toasting things.

What are these???

Gain the edge are good ones. All the kids at our rugby club wear them.

I was wondering this too. Some of the reviews aren’t that good. My ds enjoys table tennis bat and balls just now just doing keepy ups with them!

LizzieVeraker · 07/12/2024 12:29

I worry that glorbs will mark walls and ceilings etc. Or get stepped on and pop.

Eek..... Our walls are a riot of dirty marks, hand prints etc anyway so I doubt it would make a difference 🤣.

Old Spice

WarriorN · 08/12/2024 10:13

Globes claim not to mark walls...

Cottonheadedninhymuggins · 20/10/2025 06:50

Just bumping this for 2025. I am struggling with DS this year.

mamaduckbone · 20/10/2025 20:24

I've got some great ideas from this thread before, so looking forward to new ones this year (although ds1 turns 20 in November so not strictly speaking a teenager any more)
I haven't bought anything this year yet but previous hits were trainer balls and Wetherspoons top trumps!
