Have we got a stocking filler for teenage boys thread yet?

I have two - 14 and 18

Apart from socks and smellies, unusual Korean noodles and sweets have gone down well in previous years, but I am really running out of ideas!

Same here. Are you me? 😂DS is 15 in Feb, likes chocolate and gaming. I'm struggling massively with ideas.

This is my son! 13yo.

Also doesn't like noodles, "gaming" is a Nintendo for which he has everything he needs for already.

Not interested in skincare (can barely get him to shower!) And he hates anything like fizzy drinks.

I also hate spending on "tat" if I'm buying, it's needs to be useful..

Toothunsure · 24/11/2024 18:59

Mine just asked for tajin seasoning

CustardCreams2 · 24/11/2024 19:07

Rubriks cube

One of my boys is a teenager (14). I've just made a start on his stocking and planning on going shopping this weekend for a few more bits. Some of this I already have and some I still need to get. Mine is into snowboarding/skateboarding, guitar, gaming.
FM dupe for JPG 'Le Male'
Rudolph slippers from Asda
Christmas socks
Fleecy Christmas Pj's from Sainsbury's
Wallet Ninja
Christmas pudding bath bomb
Keyboard putty
A gift card for a local coffee shop where he loves the smoothies and milkshakes
Eyebrow grooming kit with tweezers (he's always pinching mine)
Stephen King Book
Guitar picks
Chocolate orange
Biscoff spread
Matchmakers
Chocolate coins
Hot chocolate bomb
Drawing pencils

I'm desperate to find a Christmas dinner pot noodle havjng just read about them on here!

Thank you - so many ideas I'm stealing :)

gingersnappz · 24/11/2024 19:28

Couple more ideas I've got for mine which I haven't seen already on here:

Chapsticks (constantly stealing mine)
Star face spot stickers
Odour buster balls for football boots

Yes I was coming on to say these. Dr oatker pud in a mug sachets, tescos or a big box on Amazon (I have been putting them in stockings for a few years now and they are a fav, they get three at once wrapped up). They make them after school and they are really really tasty, and I say that as someone who does like doing proper baking.

Earbuds (cheap ish amazon ones) were a top hit last year. This year I’m doing little battery packs - portable power banks for phones.
I got them some of that “tribal chimp” hair powder stuff last year but they ignored it.

That's good to know! I like baking too but thought they were worth a try for a quid 😊

AspirationalTallskinnylatte · 24/11/2024 19:36

Has anyone said chocolate orange yet?

Shodan · 24/11/2024 19:47

Love the Dr Oetker sachet idea.

Croc lights went down well here last year but the best things were mini Nerf guns (I have two boys). Although I did get shot quite a lot...

YouAreEffluentKim · 24/11/2024 19:53

Father Christmas usually gets my two a 'big' present and then some little ones, but we've really struggled with big present ideas this year.

Instead, we're getting lots of small useful items (toothbrush, toothpaste, pants, socks etc and then we're going to sellotape cash to the item (£1, £2 and £5) so they have something to unwrap but will be useful and they can go shopping in the NY sales. We'll just have to carefully go through the wrapping paper first before it goes in the recycling!

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 24/11/2024 19:57

14yo DS' stocking is a lot harder to do than 12yo DD's, so I'm looking for ideas on this thread. So far, I've got:

  • Venchi chocolate orange cigar (which will make him laugh, rather than encourage smoking!)
  • Mount Cleverest football edition
  • Multicoloured blank revision cards
  • 50 Things Every Young Gentleman Should Know
  • GCSE French revision flashcards
  • Why Your Parents Are Driving You Up The Wall and What To Do About It
  • Chocolate coins
  • The Shadow of the Gods book
StarShapedWindow · 24/11/2024 21:45

DS 16’s stocking fillers this year:
Pop Tarts
How to Speak Dog (book about understand dog body language)
Mini Bop It
Posh body spray
WW2 playing cards
Chocolate cigar
Bubble tea kit
Celebrity Guess Who (cheap version from Sainsbury’s)
Mug
Bag of Reese’s pretzels
Bottle opener that fits into your wallet
Fake Stanley mug
Milka chocolate spread
Magnetic bead puzzle

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 24/11/2024 22:40

Last year DS's stocking consisted of nothing other than chocolates and sweets and the obligatory satsuma and some shower gel. He was thrilled. He couldn't believe his luck as he unwrapped more and more junk. I'm planning on doing the same this year but might mix it up a bit with some Pringles. He has already started putting requests in!

Needanewname42 · 24/11/2024 23:02

You know I really like that idea of a stocking full of junk!
I could add some fizzy juice. My normal magazine. And maybe a tiny lego set.

I like the kids Stockings to be similar which with a 6 year gap isn't always easy. But I also hate bundles of tat that nobody really wants.

StarShapedWindow · 25/11/2024 07:27

Forgot to add a mini power bank for college.

Inthefreakmidwinter · 25/11/2024 15:36

Gunnersforthecup · 25/11/2024 17:55

Mine also loves games - I have got some packs of board games!

mamaduckbone · 25/11/2024 18:19

I was literally just coming on to start this exact thread! 2 boys, 19 and 15 here.
I haven't really got started this year yet, but previous hits have included:

Trainer balls
Boot buddies for rugby boots
Trainer key rings
Food - always lots of food! Favourite chocolate and sweets mostly
Socks and pants (of course)
Rugby team / film themed mug

Mine hate getting 'smellies' so that's out. They always get a book (to sit on the shelf and not read)

mamaduckbone · 25/11/2024 18:23

I8toys · 20/11/2024 09:45

Top trumps best Weatherspoons version. Getting the motorway service station one for DH.

That is inspired!

MagicalMystical · 25/11/2024 18:30

Those grip socks for playing football seem to be a thing at the minute so I’ve got a pair of those to bung in.
