I have two - 14 and 18

Apart from socks and smellies, unusual Korean noodles and sweets have gone down well in previous years, but I am really running out of ideas!

There needs to be a Mumsnet Family advice guide written to give to mothers of newborn babies in hospital. It should start with find the smallest, least stretchy stocking and never be swayed to get a bigger one 😆 they are so hard!!
Not many ideas to add as also massively struggling. Have added a wallet (off the back of the bargain thread) and looking at a new mug option. Best gift last year was a gadget pen, which he loved. He also plays guitar, so hoping to move some 'bits' into his stocking, cables anyone? !!!

LaPalmaLlama · 21/11/2024 19:20

Also the bargainous Amazon endoscope is on offer again - I dread to think where DS has used it but it has been used. Mainly to look behind furniture for things he's lost but he's also taken it hiking.

Yes! And to buy two of them! Every year when I have to sneak in to their bedrooms to retrieve the stockings then quietly stuff them and put them back I wish I had an identical one I could have pre-stuffed and just swap in 😄

Where are these knock off top trumps from?

LizzieVeraker · 24/11/2024 09:06

I searched for Deadly disease top trumps, and the ones we gave DS for his birthday are available from lots of places including Amazon. They're made by Gift republic I think.

There don't seem to be a huge number of cards, but there are more than enough to have a decent game and a good laugh.

CustardCreams2 · 24/11/2024 09:08

Reese’s peanut butter Christmas trees have more filling in than the cups.

FleaDog · 24/11/2024 09:16

They were an online retailer, if you google them they should pop up in plenty of stores, def worth having a look on ebay too.

As prev poster mentioned, not as may cards as top trumps but they are good laugh ad I usually chuckthem in ds bag if he is going away with school etc to pass time on coach

Iloveagoodnap · 24/11/2024 11:16

I'm just here for the ideas as I have two teen boys to buy for and currently have nothing for either.

Neither are particularly sporty or into looks/brands, music. One quite likes musical theatre but not in a massive way and he's also a fan of Nightmare Before Christmas but I think I've got him more than enough stuff about that in previous years. The other is into horror films and gaming. I might introduce him to Stephen King books actually as a pp said they'd got theirs one of his books and it made me think mine might like them.

I have started a list of ideas from pinching ideas that other people on this thread have said! Thanks!

Shower gel
Chocolate coins
Keyring
Sparklers
A small Christmas bear

I have NO inspiration and where I live there is no internet delivery and I hate going shopping.

£11.99, that really is a bargain! Thank you.

I've just got one for dh, can imagine him using it for absolutely loads of stuff.

  • Edited to add...just realised this is the teen boy thread. Great for oh's as well though 😂

Mug cake sachets! They might be horrible but they were £1 in Tesco's...
Croc headlights
Boot bananas for smelly rugby boots

Yes I was coming on to say these. Dr oatker pud in a mug sachets, tescos or a big box on Amazon (I have been putting them in stockings for a few years now and they are a fav, they get three at once wrapped up). They make them after school and they are really really tasty, and I say that as someone who does like doing proper baking.

Earbuds (cheap ish amazon ones) were a top hit last year. This year I’m doing little battery packs - portable power banks for phones.
I got them some of that “tribal chimp” hair powder stuff last year but they ignored it.
