Thread 11 - the one where I’m nostalgic for a cinnamon bum kit

Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers for the title. It was close between that and E.L.F on a shelf and some others - too many to choose from!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Any good ideas for golfing gifts for about £50?

I bought recipient a Garmin golf watch last year from a recommendation on this thread, so hoping the magic will work this year! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I have had a recent hit with DH'a favour NFL team golf head covers (yes it's a thing and I think it is ridiculous, but hey, it keeps the man happy).
I also did a Temu order and got a golf brush cleaner, a clip on towel, a trolley holder. He now wants some all weather gloves and a new single glove, a golfing hoodie.
In general, none of it is £50 but a couple of bits quickly add up. Xx

If anyone can help at all with a Squishmallows advent calendar I'd be most grateful. It's sold out everywhere and it's the only thing DD wants.

I had ordered one from Freemans and then I posted on here about it, but then it was cancelled 😢

I cannot pay the £100 they're going for on eBay. Makes me so mad!

I don’t know this retailer so please research before ordering, but they seem to have it nyswingfling.co.uk/products/squishmallow+advent+calendar

It just says Page not working for me, but thanks for looking anyway ❤️

I've just popped a referral for Look Fantastic on the referral code thread if anyone is interested, it's £10 off a £25 spend (and I get £10 too)

winewolfhowls · 16/11/2024 21:18

@paintyhands how do you get the papergang deal to work
I just resubscribed and I can see my previous orders but no deals? The occasional box is my treat to myself so I'm quite excited! Thank you

kittens1 · 16/11/2024 21:18

Can anyone recommend a whiskey taster set?

Audubon · 16/11/2024 21:33

@winewolfhowls the offers come by an email and it's a link rather than a code so you can't pass them on. I probably had to wait about 2-3 weeks from signing up for the newsletter before I got sent an offer.

Thanks so much for replying. Fingers crossed I get one too!

DD has just declared she would love a cuddle cushion/sit up pillow. Has anyone seen a deal, Tesco had them half price before and I didn’t bother 🙄.

Isthisonme · 16/11/2024 22:00

I need a 3D printer and have no clue what I'm doing. I did a search and there's one by Elegoo Neptune. 4 but I do t get it as it offered around 5 extras and doesn't come with filament. Hoping to spend no more than £150 including a starter pack of the filament !! Thanks all

Cluckycluck · 16/11/2024 22:04

@kittens1 Masters of Malt do lots of lovely tasting sets.

deeplybaffled · 16/11/2024 22:08

@kittens1, DH has had some lovely sets from the Whisky lounge.

My cuisinart wine opener arrived today and my husband decided it was for him 🤣
it’s great. The foil cutter has a knack to it but the actual opener is brilliant. Really smooth and pretty impressive! Thanks for the tip :)

stripedlion · 16/11/2024 22:18

Please can anyone recommend or has seen any Care Bears toys? Not cuddly soft toys, already has those but when I search that’s all that’s coming up.

kittens1 · 16/11/2024 22:29

Thank you so much @deeplybaffled and @Cluckycluck 😊

IlovePond · 16/11/2024 22:34

I forgot to mention earlier:

TKMAXX had some Squishmallow shower gel, (or possibly it was bubble bath). It was just a plastic bottle in the shape of a squishmallow head/body with a face but it was cute.

They also had Xmas Totes socks, those h/w bottles you wrap round yourself, the cuddly warmie-type things for the microwave and WoodWick candles.

Lots of Stanley cup dupes.

I looked for UW tea towels, but there weren’t any in my local.

The top floor was just a sea of Xmas decorations and related Xmas paraphernalia 😹 It was quite overwhelmingly bright and festive, with tinsel, candy canes and snowmen on every available surface!

Reminder to check your Hotel Chocolat rewards. I had a £5 off a £5.50 minimum purchase, so will pop in next week to pick up a stocking filler.

Where else does birthday vouchers? I can think of Claire’s, Hot Diamonds (but only sporadically). Where else?

I confess I always put my birthday in November because at my actual birthday I can’t be bothered with all the faff, but in November I am totally up for a freebie 😅

Greenkindness · 16/11/2024 22:56

If you have Boots recycling app you can get extra points if you recycle 5 items. There’s airtime rewards where you’d get 4% back at the moment.

Thank you so much, I used your code for my brand new baby nephew. My sister will love it.

FC25 for xbox is currently on one of Amazon's limited time deals. £35 so not a mega bargain but cheapest I've seen it. Figure if it goes down further for BF I can just return it!
