Thread 11 - the one where I’m nostalgic for a cinnamon bum kit

Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers for the title. It was close between that and E.L.F on a shelf and some others - too many to choose from!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

i'm really late to these threads, can anyone summarise what is currently still on offer? It seems the candle codes no longer work.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 16/11/2024 18:46

@Lifeisart I'm the poster who has recommended Beauty Outlet a couple of times on this thread. I've been on this thread for several years and shared some fab bargains in that time, including introducing the amazing Magpie sale the year we all got quirky anatomical crockery and the super cheap Crosley turntables with stacking codes from Urban Outfitters a couple of years ago too.

I've had numerous orders from BO this year without any issues at all. It's kept the teen birthday drawer super well stocked. Here is a pic of today's delivery to put your mind at rest. Happy shopping!

Thanks for the Ulster Weavers tip, I've grabbed a lovely bedspread for my SIL for just over £11 delivered 😁

ilovebrie8 · 16/11/2024 18:50

Does anyone knwow if white stuff will be doing any Black Friday discounts? Thanks

noodledoodler · 16/11/2024 19:02

I have also had some amazing bargains from Beauty Outlet in the past thanks to Coffee 😀

PaddingtonTwinkles · 16/11/2024 19:03

Any ideas where I can get a 'Beers From Around The World' gift?

fishfingersandchipsagain · 16/11/2024 19:06

I think I remember a few people looking for Nightmare Before Christmas?

There are a couple of characters at Pound Fun in the Funko Pops Soda range

Code PFSORRY25 takes 25% off. Shipping is free over £30.

There are a bunch of other characters too. I got a Scoobydoo one that my teen will like. £11 of Amazon. £3.75 on PF after the discount!

GoodIsGoodEnough · 16/11/2024 19:09

Sorry @Jedstre in my haste to try and sort the clicky link, I'd linked the wrong one!
I have this one.

Might be on offer elsewhere! If you sign up for Argos emails they usually send a money off code.

I can't make the elf offer work. I've registered and downloaded the app but all I get is free delivery. What am I doing wrong?

It doesn’t need to be the app. Try the webpage.

Bongbangbing · 16/11/2024 19:18

IlovePond · 16/11/2024 18:20

@Bongbangbing - I’ve just logged onto ELF and on the opening page is the lip duo offer. Are you on the app? It’s definitely working for me on the app on my phone.

When you click on Rewards it should then come up for you to click Redeem. You do have to put stuff in your basket first, though.

If you are on the app already, try deleting it and reloading - that worked for @tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz

Apologies if you’ve already tried this.

Thank you! Just had to reload the app

It seems they are entirely sold out judging by the email I've had offering me a refund (and seeing what's left on their website)

Home bargains or bnm. Xx

Christmasmcchristmasface · 16/11/2024 19:49

@CoffeeAndEnnui thank you I know this will be one of DD favourite gifts this year!
you have done it again another fab bargain

psuedocream3 · 16/11/2024 19:54

just wanted to say thank you for the ELF offer. I don't think I got as good a deal as some, but I've managed to stock up my makeup for a while for a grand total of £21.00. Three eyeliners, brow gel, face powder, two concealers, power grip primer, tweezer set, birthday lip gloss, lip gloss duo set and a mini brow pallete. I'd usually spend that on just one item, so a big thank you for posting.

CaptainBenson · 16/11/2024 19:55

Does anyone know of any current offer codes for BrandAlley?

Wigglewoowoo · 16/11/2024 20:00

Any good Boots points boosts? I'm about to spend just under £50

If you're already a member then MEMBER20 may still be working.

GoodIsGoodEnough · 16/11/2024 20:11

If anyone can help at all with a Squishmallows advent calendar I'd be most grateful. It's sold out everywhere and it's the only thing DD wants.

I had ordered one from Freemans and then I posted on here about it, but then it was cancelled 😢

I cannot pay the £100 they're going for on eBay. Makes me so mad!

Same here.

For all the Beauty Outlet shoppers, there's also cashback available through TopCashback. It's only 3.57% right now but for bigger purchases that might still make a wee bit of difference. Have added my TCB link to the referrals thread if one is needed.

I'm taking part in a charity gift giving program (similar to the Dunelm one where you pick a name/age from the tree but local)
I have bee allocated a 9 year old girl and have no more information
Does anyone have any ideas where to start please? I'm far more used to gifting for boys so a bit stumped here!
Budget is about £50 but I'd prefer to get multiple gifts rather than just one I think the more bargainous the better!

My dd is a little older but for that age I would get a squishmallow, fidget toy, jewellery making kit, colouring book/lockable diary/sketchbook with pencils/pens, bag of sweets/selection box, book (maybe something inspirational like the rebel girls good night stories or a magazine), fluffy socks, body mist/spray in sweet smells, lipbalm/gloss in fun flavours, cute keyring or pin badges for school bag, small lego minibuild (sometimes you can get free ones in the lego store!), hot chocolate sachets/bomb or an individual bubble tea sachet, cute stickers. I would go for a stocking of gifts 😊 lots of these things could be picked up on Temuu if you use it!

I would avoid anything that requires batteries or additional cost as if they are on low income the liklihood is the batteries won't get replaced and its a gift they can't use. Ditto things that require additional equipment like hama beads as they may not have them in the house.

If you sign up to the entertainer toystore and add a birthday you can get a 10% off code.

SevenKingsMustDie · 16/11/2024 20:23

Any good ideas for golfing gifts for about £50?

I bought recipient a Garmin golf watch last year from a recommendation on this thread, so hoping the magic will work this year! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

hiredandsqueak · 16/11/2024 20:28

Thankyou to whoever mentioned the Ryedale black Friday offers. Bought a lovely fleece throw, brilliant quality, that dd and the dog were bickering over yesterday so I've had to buy another one today.
