Thread 11 - the one where I’m nostalgic for a cinnamon bum kit

Reastie · 13/11/2024 15:09

Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers for the title. It was close between that and E.L.F on a shelf and some others - too many to choose from!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@onedayatatime73 I’m getting my boys (29, 27 and 18) and dil (26) these Nutribullet Portable Blenders and hoodies and mugs from the Saltrock sale. The blenders weren’t particularly bargainous, they were £29 down from £39, but I think they will be appreciated.

I am curious, what do you do with a portable blender? Why does it need to be portable?

Threeboystwocatsandadog · 17/11/2024 02:03

@fishfingersandchipsagain I have no idea really but we had a cheap one and the elder two used it a lot for protein shakes until it broke. We do have an ordinary Breville blender which they all use, especially the youngest, for smoothies but it’s a bit more hassle for me to clean. Ds2 has just got married and doesn’t have a blender so I did think of getting them an ordinary one but they don’t have much kitchen space so I thought they’d all be best with their own individual ones.

Does anyone know where I can get a blue beanbag chair? Lovely specific request from a nephew BUT they are so expensive, who knew?!?!?

Reminder to check your Hotel Chocolat rewards. I had a £5 off a £5.50 minimum purchase, so will pop in next week to pick up a stocking filler.

Where else does birthday vouchers? I can think of Claire’s, Hot Diamonds (but only sporadically). Where else?

I confess I always put my birthday in November because at my actual birthday I can’t be bothered with all the faff, but in November I am totally up for a freebie 😅

Hotel Chocolat £5
claires £5
hobbycraft £5
river Island 25% 1 item
H&M 15% 1 item
mango £5
subway free cookie
Greggs free pudding
costa free pudding
Krispy Kreme free donut
lidl - free donut

can you tell it was my (actual) bday recently 🤣

SevenKingsMustDie · 17/11/2024 06:14

@Clucket87 thanks for replying - I don't do Temu but will look for similar items elsewhere. A 'golf hamper' of bits and bobs would work!

@SevenKingsMustDie they hid mine last night. I’m glad they decided it was worth people seeing. Who knew golf stuff could be so mysterious lol

Can anyone recommend a whiskey taster set?

If you go on Beer52 they have a whiskey box for shipping only, about £8.

handmademitlove · 17/11/2024 07:48

@Isthisonme DS has the ender 3 and uses it a lot. You should.be able to find a good deal around black Friday.

BourbonsAreOverated · 17/11/2024 08:04

@Isthisonme
we’ve got an ancient flashforge finder. It’s great. Does everything we want it to and parts are available for it when we have needed to replace the nozzle or plate (each replaced once in 7-8 years of ownership where it’s been used at least 2-3 times a week)

Nestnearlyempty · 17/11/2024 08:05

If I remember rightly the cuisinart sale had a portable blender in it for £20: www.cuisinart.co.uk/cuisinart-cordless-on-the-go-blender-RPB100U.html
