Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers for the title. It was close between that and E.L.F on a shelf and some others - too many to choose from!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Some good bits on the sports direct website …

managed to get DS (11) two pairs of Nike track pants joggers, adidas rugby boots.

DS (13) men’s Nike shorts, Nike tshirt, Nike boxers, rugby ball, pack of 3 Nike socks

Me vans trainers, Calvin Klein long bralette, white high tops.

Had a 20% extra code for my birthday off sports direct so managed to get it all for £90 including delivery. 👏

Fingers crossed it all arrives.

The Nike socks were the cheapest I’ve seen them at £8.49 I think for 3 pairs …

Thanks @Waffles21 - I’ll try to have a sniff of JM’s poppy scent tomorrow. I know it’s only £6.99 but I can’t abide waste and if I don’t like the smell I won’t use it! So annoyed I picked up the wrong one 😿

I have this one from Aldi! I’ve not smelt the original though so probably not much use to you.
i love the smell, but i don’t think it lasts on me sadly

@hugsandpugs it's written somewhere that you need to reach the top 5 in order to get reward points, or you can get a bonus for logging in and playing 5 days in a row.

Looking on Argos site for toys for my real dog (!) I came across something called a Little Pets - My Puppy's Home reduced from £70 to £20 which seemed decent if your DCs are still off that age?

The ELF lip duo and free shipping can be used multiple times , so if you plan to order more than one thing , worth splitting into separate orders , each needs to be £5 to qualify.

gaggiagirl · 16/11/2024 07:15

You may remember the elemis price glitch cream from Amazon. I posted to say my order had been cancelled (I chose subscribe and save for £11.40) well looks like Amazon are honoring it as it's on its way!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/11/2024 07:29

Existing customers of Poundfun can use code PFSORRY25 for 25% off as an apology for delayed delivery on orders over the last few weeks.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/11/2024 07:31

Poundfun also have a code on their website XMAS10 for 10% off.

Oh good MORNING Christmas people, I am about to begin for the year (don't judge me). I have been lurking on these threads for ages anyway because I love the vibe!

This is a random one, but I am doing up my daughters bedroom for Xmas and I have some curtains and blinds in my blinds2go basket. So far 5%off curtains, 10% off blinds and extra 10% off early black Friday. Do you think i should hold my nerve and wait a bit??

ArthurChristmas22 · 16/11/2024 07:56

Help! How do I get the complimentary eye cream on VB? Signed up, followed link, added to basket,.charging full price.

Cleverclocks · 16/11/2024 08:04

Thank you everyone for all the bargains & gift ideas!

Those who have ordered from Soccer04, have you had to pay any customs charges? About to place an order but worried I'll get hit with a huge extra cost!

IlovePond · 16/11/2024 08:14

@ArthurChristmas22 - I think the poster who recommended the deal said not to add the product to basket, but a green tab appears (to the right?) when you have put put your other shopping in your basket and then you select ‘gift’.

Thanks so much for this. That’s the DDs advent calendars definitely sorted now!

Bongbangbing · 16/11/2024 08:24

Hi what is the elf offer please? I've tried looking for it but there's so much to look through!

MayaTheBusyBee · 16/11/2024 08:24

@gaggiagirl re: spode christmas tree set, i buy bits and bobs from TK Maxx, ecookshop or Spode directly.

Thanks for all the power bank recommendations I'll start looking at those x

Magik01 · 16/11/2024 08:34

okayhescereal · 15/11/2024 18:46

Yoto currently have a deal on their adventure bundle, but not overtly listed as a 'Black Friday' deal. Does anyone know if this is the offer? Stupidly bought headphones on a lightning deal a few months ago so just need the player and jacket!!

@okayhescereal I think it depends if you would like the mini or the original yoto. The mini deal that have going on at the minute (player, jacket and headphones for £89.99) I think was the best price they did last Black Friday. Black Friday was more deals on cards last year if I remember correctly.

you've said you already have the headphones, but if you brought the bundle with headphones in there are a few yoto selling groups on Facebook that you could easily sell on. Also, if you didn’t order the headphones from yoto, you could use a referral code for £10 off a minimum of £60 spend, and could even pair it with another 10% off if you join the Yoto club (which you can cancel after!). That means you’ll also get two tokens to spend on cards.

Hope that makes sense! My 6 year old uses his yoto every night, listens to cards then uses the sleep radio to fall asleep too. My 3 year old isn’t that interested in his yet, but I think he will when he’s a little older.

if you did need a referral code, let me know and I can DM you. 🙂

IlovePond · 16/11/2024 08:34

@Bongbangbing - the current ELF offer is for free shipping, free lip and lip oil duo. Plus if you can get some Reward points, (I could win points by visiting sites, answering questions the other day, but it wasn’t working for me yesterday), you might qualify for another freebie.

All of the above can be found by clicking Rewards and then Redeem.

If you add your birthday when signing up and it happens to be in November, you can also add a birthday gift to your basket.

To get all this goodness, I set up an ELF account and downloaded the app.

The site is glitchy at times/for some people and some have received multiple free gifts, whilst others have not had their correct orders 🙀

There was another Reward for £10 off a £15 spend, but that’s finished.

gaggiagirl · 16/11/2024 08:36

@MayaTheBusyBee ooh I didn't think to check e cook shop. That's great thank you. I'm glad I held my nerve for black Friday at spode!

thereisamouseinthehouse · 16/11/2024 08:38

If you have or know anyone with curly hair, the OnlyCurls website has up to 30% off everything. This includes their shampoos etc but more gift-y things too like their silk lined bobble hats (amazing - and I don't even have curly hair!), sleep turbans (have transformed DD's life), scrunchies and all sorts of other things.

Does anyone have any suggestions for physically big but cheapish gifts for a 9 year old boy? All the things he's asked for this year are small boxes while his little sister has asked for much bigger things. I'm just a bit worried that his pile before unwrapping is going to look a bit sad compared to hers.
If it's something that gets 'used up' somehow or is actually quite small once out of the box, that would be even better because our house is not big lol.

Last year I got a cuddle cushion reading thing for my son to make his pile of switch games look better like this, but you can get them cheaper.

So after my Elf debacle and galvanised by so many of you able to use after I'd been told by Elf it's not possible ...

I deleted and reinstalled the app today and all rewards were there including the sunrise one (a lip duo instead so f money off but happy with that) ...

I've ordered a cream blush for -£5, able to apply x 2 birthday gifts of lip gloss and got the extras and free shipping for a fiver.

Think my last issue was my basket value after deductions had to be £5 still so all good now.

I'm so sad but now it's worked I feel like I've socked it to the man Grin ... but don't really even NEED the blusher but I'll use it eventually!
