Thanks @Beautifulsunflowers for the title. It was close between that and E.L.F on a shelf and some others - too many to choose from!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I Would love some brushed cotton sheets for my sons room (xmas themed) I got some from dunelm and they are so rough. Same with asda! Don't want to pay loads as they will only come out once a year but want something uber soft (not teddy bear as he gets very hot at night) any suggestions? X

Anyone still waiting for their soccer04 delivery? I had a dispatch email on Monday. I've just tried to track the order but it says my number doesn't existed. Tried to go to the website and ot doesn't seem to exist anymore.

hoopdeloop · 15/11/2024 20:39

I don’t think it’s been mentioned but Argos has a 3 for £20 offer on some toys which includes some Lego sets too.

After ignoring all the oodie/fake oodie chat, my son has announced the one he has is ‘too young’ for him now. Where is the best place for one? Not bothered about it being branded, probably looking for a football or gaming themed one if anyone can recommend

Being thick bit what's the difference d between a milk frother and the hot chocolate makers ? So they somehow stir or something? Am torn as DFIL might make a hot choc but it would be less frequent than a latte

I bought DH this last year. It have 4 settings, hot milk with light foam, hot milk with thick foam, cold milk with thick foam, hot frothy drink.

So he uses the hot foam settings for coffee, DC use the cold one and eat it with a spoon and I use the frothy for hot chocolate adding my mix to the pot.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/11/2024 20:44

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz we have the same power banks with the paws. They are fine. We took them on holiday for the dc and they did just the job

Isthisonme · 15/11/2024 20:46

@BangFlash so I reckon a milk frother like the one mentioned would be fine the? Thanks so much

I was just going to post the exact same thing!

There is not as much in the outlet as there was last year, but it looks like there are some nice things. It looks like they have restocked the outlet since last week.

After the discount:
A good selection of tea towels under £2
Aprons under £6
Oven gloves arounds £4
Fabic doorstop £3ish

Free postage over £30

I bit the bullet and bought the full price ones I was wanting, and added some tea towels and a doorstop to bring it up to the free delivery threshold.

I can't get the code to be accepted - any idea what I'm doing wrong?

We have the real ones and the Primark ones. Ds prefers the Primark. There's definitely a play station branded one, saw it yesterday.

Try this website www.soccer04.shop my email auto took me to soccer04.store

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 15/11/2024 21:00

@choc27 pretty sure they ship from China or similar so tracking won't work until they get handed over to whichever courier they are using in the UK. If it's anything like Temu it can sit at an airport for a few days before a flight and then a couple of days in customs before being handed over to delivery company

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 15/11/2024 21:01

@choc27 Not sure why I have been hidden 😂 i just said it can sit in an airport a few days in china (or wherever) tracking won't update until it reaches the uk delivery company after it has cleared customs

imnottoofussed · 15/11/2024 21:03

The Ulster weavers code is FLASH30 just to point out the previous code was incorrect

Iggi999 · 15/11/2024 21:10

Thanks @imnottoofussed that one worked!

Dinosweetpea · 15/11/2024 21:12

Are there any hobbycraft codes floating around? Thanks x

cheesychipsontheoche · 15/11/2024 21:17

Power bank wise we have an anker one which is a beast, highly recommend and likely to be on offer on amazon Black Friday deals

YeahWellWhyNot · 15/11/2024 21:18

Second an Anker power bank, which I'd also agree will be on offer at some point pre Christmas

Does anyone have any suggestions for physically big but cheapish gifts for a 9 year old boy? All the things he's asked for this year are small boxes while his little sister has asked for much bigger things. I'm just a bit worried that his pile before unwrapping is going to look a bit sad compared to hers.
If it's something that gets 'used up' somehow or is actually quite small once out of the box, that would be even better because our house is not big lol.

But generic but when that's happened here things like oodies or the primark version, blankets, or dressing gowns have been good to make it look more even. Giant marker sets too. A box of crisps wrapped up.

woodwaj · 15/11/2024 21:23

I dont suppose anyone has found a discount code that works on ELF?

dramalamma · 15/11/2024 18:26

@BangFlash @Thelifeofawife thank you - i have saved it all and taken photos - i sent them a message in their contact form but might email too so i can attach the photos too - i swear when this kind of things happens i feel almost guilty by the thought that i COULD have opened it and kept the stuff even though i know i havent! 🤦‍♀️😂

I had the same with my opalex parcel. Not royal mail (was Evri) but box was completely empty and I felt so guilty emailing even though I was being 100% honest!
They sent the order again
Great customer service

Borris · 15/11/2024 21:34

Are there any more bargainous ways to buy this or something similar?
