Thread 10 - the one with a rubber dick each

Reastie · 09/11/2024 06:18

Thanks @CalliopePlantain for the title. Lord of the Rings rubber dick anyone?! Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Has anyone seen any Argos discount codes? I’ve got £105 ready to check out and would love a sneaky discount 😅

@TheRedheadMummy I hope no one pinches this but I got sent £8 off £80 earlier: AMY4WYBKNJ8X

Can anyone recommend a good advent calendar (not chocolate) for my 17yr old daughter, got her little brother the match attax one and don’t want her to be left out! Budget £30ish. Thanks!

I got an invisibobble one in TK Maxx for myself this year. I think it was only £15! Not sure if that would be her thing ? Mixture of different hairbands and a few clips I think.

Is the Beer52 thing hard to cancel? Debating availing of the 3 bottle offer but would rather not have to deal with a tricky cancellation process. Have found laithwaites to be quite difficult to break up with in the past. Kept calling me from different numbers 🤣

I did it online. Just keep clicking cancel. Very easy.

thaegumathteth · 10/11/2024 21:23

Foot asylum has 22% off full price with SINGLES22

Someaddedsugar · 10/11/2024 21:27

@bumblebeedee try WCEP7E74

onedayatatime73 · 10/11/2024 21:38

20% off Cult Beauty with code.
It was either HORMONE or HORMONES.

Can't remember which one worked now so try both.

Waffles21 · 10/11/2024 21:39

Hi
Does anybody know the best place to get Dior Sauvage at a good price please? Thank you!

issantahereyet · 10/11/2024 21:42

Does anyone have any suggestions for gifts for a recently turned 2 year old? Family have asked us for ideas for our son, but honestly cannot think of anything and we've pretty much got all of his presents from us at this point. Happy for it to be something we can play with with him, or something he can play independently with as he has a new sibling coming very soon after Christmas! Preferably on the smaller side as we're running out of space 😬 open to all ideas though!

Unfortunately clothes aren't even an idea as he has a very impressive wardrobe I'm not jealous I swear

PeskyPotato · 10/11/2024 21:44

@weareallqueens I can't get that to work. I've had three deliveries as keep forgetting to cancel when they're open but I click through all the cancel buttons and this is the end. Tried different reasons for wanting to cancel too.

Has anyone seen any good Nintendo switch deals?

And also any recommendations for a noisy toy for a nearly 2 year old. She loves music and lights!

Thanks

PeskyPotato · 10/11/2024 21:47

I was in Barnardoes charity shop today and in the. We good they had about 20 packs of "cards against maturity" for £4.50 a game. £20 rrp or on offer at Amazon for £17 atm so great saving.

This was Coventry central six but I'm sure other stores have the same new stock.

Magnetic tiles? My 2 year old loves hers and it's something that's better the more you have as they can build more different things.

GoodIsGoodEnough · 10/11/2024 21:59

Just got 20% off at Freemans with code F45R.

Have ordered the ridiculous Squishmallows advent calendar! Plus some socks to get to £30 free delivery.

BrieCamera · 10/11/2024 21:59

Small Kins have quite a lot of jellycats on sale - with a further 10% off with SMALLKINS code. Rare to get them discounted.

Beachcomber74 · 10/11/2024 22:01

We’ve just bought these stepping stones for my 3 year old but think it’s something he would have been able to use at 2 (or within a few months anyway).
mostly for floor is lava. https://amzn.eu/d/9Brc9Us nice small box! Otherwise books or orchard games are always staple suggestions!

Last year my DS was 2 and a half and got:

Yoto player (this has been good as we have asked for cards for birthdays/Christmas going forward) we just got the mini and it's been great.
Magnetic tiles - as long as they're definitely out of the "everything in their mouth" phase! This might have been his third birthday actually? If you've got little siblings coming I'd probably hold off due to the risk with them and magnets, but I tend to be overcautious
Doctor dress up kit - can also swap for other dressing up kits
Toolbox - this is being followed up with a workbench this year!
Also the Melissa and Doug ice cream stand has regularly been reduced to £25, or other similar (we've gone pizza oven for this year but I know the sandwich shop has been popular on here too)

chillimice · 10/11/2024 22:09

Throw throw burrito down to £16 (from £24) on amazon

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 10/11/2024 22:10

@issantahereyet how about a Tonie or Yoto player?
