Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Aldi had Throw Throw Burrito for £16.99 this afternoon, they also had Throw Throw Avocado & a Sword game in the same bin (same price)

They also had some of the smaller wooden toy sets in again, think I saw cakes, a tea set & something with sausages in the food section then various toolbelts in another section

I went to my local outlet this morning and fell in love with these Spode Mugs from Cook’n’Dine. £19.50 for a set of 4 and they are beautiful. Very good price as well from what I could tell with a quick Google. I now need all the rest of the range!

Spode Christmas Tree Mug 12oz Set of 4

Hot chocolate topped with a tower of whipped cream, fragrant mulled wine or creamy homemade eggnog - whatever you choose to serve in these mugs, their delightful festive design makes the experience extra cosy. Part of the Spode Christmas Tree collectio...

It was a quick correction at the preview after it had autocorrected to something else. Completely wrong.

MN has quickly removed my original post at my request. I think I’ll stay off MN for the rest of the day as I’m not MNetting well. I don’t want to inadvertently offend anyone else. 😢

I can completely understand why PP was upset at mumsnet’s advertising but I don’t think you did anything wrong. Sending an unmumsnetty hug your way as I can tell you’re upset.

I've mentioned this on last thread but now have an actual code to share ...

Excellent gift for fashion lovers, my teen loved one this as an end of exams present and I think I'll do again for Christmas.

Six print copies of Vogue for £9, digital access and free make up gift (sent separately) worth £38.

IMPORTANT PART - You will need to cancel to avoid it renewing at full price however for this particular mag it was surprisingly easy. You must do 8 weeks before last issue and I didn't even set up an account I just waited for first issue to come through then immediately emailed [email protected] with instructions to cancel so I wasn't billed after 6th issue and they confirmed action a few days later.

I can’t find this on Conde Naste site.

my DD would love this how do I access it?

OnionBag · 25/10/2024 15:17

@Yalz you didn’t set out to offend. Please stay with us 😊😊

Oh Yalz you had actually made my day. I thought what you said was hilarious. Not everyone has the same sense of humour and I saw that you were making a very Mumsnet joke.. I mean... We've got pepper grinders described as wanky 😂 we're all grown ups.

Home Bargains has individual packs of Little People for 99p, I know a previous poster was looking for them. I picked up a few for my LO’s stocking, great stocking filler.

They also had the Mellisa and Doug Schoolyard Tumble for £7.99 which is a great bargain - currently on Amazon for £12. Really happy with that as it was on my list!

@Joiedepotato, you were looking?

nicky2512 · 25/10/2024 15:42

Could someone who has used the Asda rewards voucher for the sweet tubs help me please. I assume it is a one of use so you can only buy two at that amazing price and can’t buy multiple two for £5’s? Just trying to decide if it’s worth going!

Joiedepotato · 25/10/2024 15:44

@beetr00 yes I was but I don't have a Home Bargains anywhere near me! I was wondering if anyone had seen them anywhere else. Also, shout out to @ZzzzCravingMum who had a look for me in hers, but no luck.

beetr00 · 25/10/2024 15:49

@Joiedepotato any figures in particular?

Those who have an HB nearby could perhaps help?

Yes just a one time use but you can get 2 different boxes so don't need to get 2 of the same type.

Joiedepotato · 25/10/2024 15:53

@beetr00@beetr00
@beetr00@beetr00 I don't know why it's tagging you so many times! Every time I go to delete it, it just adds another, clearly not my afternoon.

These are the ones we have, I have no other preference, I'd love two and would of course be happy to pay postage if anyone happens across some. Really struggled with toys for my little girl as we bought everything for her older brother already but she loves to play with the ones we have.

Joiedepotato · 25/10/2024 15:56

Bloody mumsnet driving me nuts this afternoon.

It says underneath 0/1 used so once it's used one it will not work so 2 tubs per rewards customer x

issantahereyet · 25/10/2024 16:30

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, currently trying to catch up on the thread. But if you're interested in the softlings foodies plushies (the jellycat dupes) and don't live near a Hobbycraft or One Below/Beyond, I noticed them yesterday in Matalan. They were in the little baskets near the tills, pretty sure they were £4 🙂

nicky2512 · 25/10/2024 16:30

@SparklyLimeJoker and @PMAmostofthetime thank you both very much.

🎄Just wanted to share an idea for Christmas gifting which went down so well last year that I will be repeating again this year. I sent teeny Christmas trees from Bloom & Wild to my mum, aunts and mother in law to be delivered on (or around) 1 December. They start from £27 and come with pot and little lights / decorations and can then be replanted outside in a pot after the festive season.

if you haven’t ordered from Bloom & Wild before you can use a referral code to get £10 off your first order which takes the price down to only £17, which is far cheaper than sending a reasonable bunch of flowers. Have to confess I may have used more than one email address so save £10 a couple of times 😃

it actually gave me so much joy sending these little trees as a surprise for my family that I’ve decided to send myself one this year. Last year I felt I couldn’t justify it when i was sending them to others but this year I’m ordering mine first and i know it will start my Christmas season well.

I will post a link to some of the tiny trees below, but remember you will find a code on the referrals board.

www.bloomandwild.com/send-flowers/tagonly/trees-wreaths

Thank you. This is perfect for Granny.
