Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Beat the parents down to £3.97. We are always looking to grow our board game collection and this one looks a good deal

Has anyone seen any nice Christmas children's plate bowl and cups? I've previously bought melamine sets although we broke one last year and we now have to factor in my just turned 2 year old. Not baby baby ones as my eldest is 7 but if anyone has seen nice childrens themed sets or ones that can be bought individually I'd really appreciate a shout out!

I’m on a quiz book hunt this evening! Good stocking filler here. National Geographic Kids quiz book. 50% off, this one’s £3, while others are nearly full price.

This is perfect for DD, thank you!

@YeahWellWhyNot I have previously bought individual china plates from Matalan, the side plates made for good kids plates

🎄Just wanted to share an idea for Christmas gifting which went down so well last year that I will be repeating again this year. I sent teeny Christmas trees from Bloom & Wild to my mum, aunts and mother in law to be delivered on (or around) 1 December. They start from £27 and come with pot and little lights / decorations and can then be replanted outside in a pot after the festive season.

if you haven’t ordered from Bloom & Wild before you can use a referral code to get £10 off your first order which takes the price down to only £17, which is far cheaper than sending a reasonable bunch of flowers. Have to confess I may have used more than one email address so save £10 a couple of times 😃

it actually gave me so much joy sending these little trees as a surprise for my family that I’ve decided to send myself one this year. Last year I felt I couldn’t justify it when i was sending them to others but this year I’m ordering mine first and i know it will start my Christmas season well.

I will post a link to some of the tiny trees below, but remember you will find a code on the referrals board.

Has anybody spotted any good deals on Jelly Belly Jelly Beans please?

Very specifically looking for that brand.

I bought the huge round pot last week in TK Maxx, £16.99.

One year it went down to £9.99 on Amazon but have not seen it at that price since.

lingmerth · 24/10/2024 23:41

@MsSheldonCooper Aww this is a lovely idea. I've just ordered one for my son who would t bother with a tree otherwise.

Glad to help @lingmerth. Last year I sent to someone who I know was having a difficult time and wouldn’t have bothered with a tree either and this really lifted their spirits on 1 December 😍

Hohohopeful · 25/10/2024 00:14

Barbie wardrobe a good price at £9.99 (I say a good price, it's just a small plastic box, but the children like it and it's usually more expensive!)

Hohohopeful · 25/10/2024 00:19

Also if you have the asda app check your offers. Many people have a £4 discount voucher meaning 2 big round boxes of heros/ celebrations/ roses is £5 or £2.50 each. That's great.

Confusedmeanderings · 25/10/2024 00:28

@bizzey thanks for the link - there are some great things on this website!

OMG ! .
That was my link for hot chocolate mugs !

I am so sorry 😐.
If I click on it , it is just mugs ....
I can't see anything else.

Is that just coming up on your screen?

bizzey · 25/10/2024 03:44

Actually ...that is really confusing me and upsetting me .

It is showing as an advert of the 25th October.
My post was 24th October.

Why would my post and words be shown as part of an advert !??

bizzey · 25/10/2024 03:47

@Yalz ...can I report your post and ask MN why my post and words were used above their advert , which my post has nothing of relevance for ?

bizzey · 25/10/2024 03:53

@Yalz ...I reported it .

I don't like the association to me .

I think it’s a random advert just below your post for @Yalz as it isn’t there below your post for me. I think @Yalz was just joking that on first glance it looked like that was your suggestion for a 5-8 year old girl, so I wouldn’t be upset x

I think it's just an unfortunate ad under your post lovely. I got the same one and it's nothing to do with your link.

sillygoof · 25/10/2024 07:04

My 7 year old has decided she wants a 3D printer 😳. I could stretch to a 3D pen - can anyone recommend one, even better if it’s one that it’s cheap and easy to get the refills for?
