Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Big reductions on Amazon on Calvin Klein perfumes (73% off) and l’oriel skincare (60%+ off). No idea how they compare to elsewhere though.

PlanBea · 24/10/2024 19:54

Did anyone from the last thread buy the bargain Harvey Nichols champagne and truffles - were the truffles dated in time to gift at Christmas? I was going to order and remove the truffles if short seated but the packaging doesn't really lend itself to that!

I'm doing a charity Secret Santa thing for girls age 5-8. It's a tricky age bracket, I think, as there's a big difference between a 5 year old and an 8 year old. If anyone sees anything good quality and bargainous I'd appreciate it.

A squishmallow would be good for that age range or Crayola art set like this if budget allows. Ours is used daily by DD8

I'm sure these have been on offer in Argos cheaper than this though

Some nice hot chocolate mugs

Omg ! Have I done it !!

My jenga style of putting loads of mugs in a small cupboard let me down to night.....and the handle broke on ds 's mug !

While on the hunt for a new one came across this place.

For £6.49 they re quite good.

Check out the hole site as they have lots of really cute one .

£2.99 postage if under 40.

But petty generic gifts ... especially for Pp who had girls secret Santa to buy for age 5 -8 ?

bizzey · 24/10/2024 20:48

So I managed the link ...but now can't type or spell ! 😂..

Clicky links will come to those who wait !

After 5 or maybe even 6 years 😮...it worked !

Audubon · 24/10/2024 20:51

There’s been lots of love on here in previous years for Valentte candles and diffusers. Just seen that they have a good offer on but looks like it’s only 24 hours

I would go art stuff. Between those ages my dds enjoyed sketch books/colouring books and pencils. Hama beads. Jewellery making - bead set or loom bands.

Or possibly a squishmallow! Everyone loves a cuddly toy!

Mine also started to enjoy being cosy that age and loved the soft fleecy blankets from primark/asda. Paired with a mug of their own and some hot chocolate bombs (aldi).

We also enjoyed games around that age - our favourites were dobble, exploding kittens, no more llamas, stinky pig, connect 4, hungry hippos, classics box set (inc snakes & ladders etc), rush hour, memory game, bugs in the kitchen.
