Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

@stepfordwifey At CB with code: PAYDAYAFF the CT lipstick in that cracker comes down to £22.40.

With FIRST15 the Rare Beauty lip comes down to £17 on SpaceNK

That’s already more than the price of SpaceNK’s lip cracker, which is £30, not counting the other items in there. In monetary value it’s worth it, if that’s what you were wanting to buy.

Edited

I think they are smaller versions in the cracker, but still worth the price, especially if considering for a gift

IlovePond · 30/10/2024 12:51

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz Thanks very much for the code. Unfortunately it didn’t work for my order, but I appreciate you thinking of me x

I think the Charlotte Tilbury and Nars are smaller than normal (about half size), but the Tatcha and Rare Beauty are full size. I rarely make it to the end of a lip product but good to flag this for others who might want to gift specific items.

Same. I still have a lot to use up, but I’m tempted. I need to stop looking!

Just to add to the Dior, there's free engraving on selected products atm. My dd has asked for the lip glow and it's available on that

The packaging is beautiful. And you usually get free samples.
However, Boots have got 15% off atm and I’m torn between shopping there or paying full price on Dior website.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 30/10/2024 13:11

To me, those cracker contents are GWP size. The CT is only 1.1g (her standard size lipstick weight is 3.5g) The Nars is 1.6g.

It would be a nice gift, but for me they are definitely borderline sample sizes.

IIRC there was a lot of the Dept stores doing 20% off all premium beauty early to mid November last year. Could be worth waiting for that (I've just checked my receipts and I got some bargains plus freebies at JL that time last year with some lovely gift-wrapping by the assistants in store)

IVbumble · 30/10/2024 13:15

To all those waiting Cuisinart delivery arrived today after order on 22 Oct.

Yes - Tilbury is 1/3 normal size and Nars is 1/2 normal size. Tacha and Rare Beauty are full sizes though and they are the ones I would be likely to use day to day, as they are more moisturising formulas. Definitely still a fabulous deal.

VolcanicProtectorMan · 30/10/2024 13:37

Sainsbury’s irl have reduced their toy bargains further if there are things left. I got a Marble Rush set for £20, comes in a really big impressive box, and Gabby’s dollhouse lego set for £27. Might be worth a go if you are near to one that stocks lots of toys. The one I went to was Longbridge.

On Sunday I got DPD notification that they are waiting for my Nespresso. No update 😬anyone else similar?

Have you got the DPD app? I downloaded it and it told me my parcel was on its way and it’s just been delivered!

I know that previously someone posted a big list of random but useful house gifts, things like an apple corer. I think it was a tradition of guess what the item does. I'm now in need of something like that. If the poster of that list sees this could you please PM with the list. I can't find it now 😬 thank you

I’m also interested in this list! Sounds like it would really help our random guess the gift as DD owns her own home now.

Fenwick have the Lego Apartment Building Set (60365) for £35 instead of £74.99.

My DD wants the Olivia Rodrigo Stanley cup. Does anyone
know if the OnBuy products are the real deal
or just a good copy. Absolutely no idea where to look 👀 and trying not to think about the price of one cup 🥺😐 but it is all
she has asked for.

hby9628 · 30/10/2024 14:42

@TheChirpyWasp no I haven't I didn't think of that. I'll give it a go

hby9628 · 30/10/2024 14:45

@TheChirpyWasp downloaded. It says they haven't had my parcel yet. Hopefully it will arrive soon

Same. If I check my tracking number, DPD haven't even received the parcel yet.

My Nespresso order has just been delivered and it's bigger than me!

IggyAce · 30/10/2024 15:01

Have been shopping to Home bargains, always dangerous, but my teen ds was very pleased to find some freeze dried candy for £1.99 a bag. I know this is popular so may make a good stocking filler.

hby9628 · 30/10/2024 15:14

I'm sure it will come. Must just be a dpd delay 🤞

In other news these nip + fab sets look good
