Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

This is very random. But I think last year someone linked to a book about cats (I think there were other ones in the same style too) I think it like opened up nicely? Does anyone remember from this complete lack of information lol

onedayatatime73 · 26/10/2024 19:06

Can anyone remember the site from last year and the year before where we all ordered personalised christmas labels? They were stickers pre written with names from family xyz. And you just had to write to "to" bit? x

mum2three48 · 26/10/2024 19:11

@onedayatatime73 not sure if it's the same one but I use the sticker site https://www.thestickersite.com]]

Vimaybe · 26/10/2024 19:14

@Conqueeftador @CarrieMoonbeams @probablyonlysellone thank you, I'll look into all. Also noticed on the harper Collins site they're offering 50% off book site wide if you sign up to their mailing list prior to black friday (they're dates are 13th & 14th Nov.)

Petesbowtie9 · 26/10/2024 19:14

Does anyone know how many of the tubs of Christmas sweets you can buy with the voucher ? I know it says single use but could you buy more than two in one transaction and still get the discount ? Thanks

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 26/10/2024 19:17

@onedayatatime73 possibly Tiny me stickers

@Petesbowtie9 it's just for one purchase of 2 tubs only.

Daisiesanddaffodils24 · 26/10/2024 19:19

@Vimaybe Monty Don's 'My garden year' book is nice too. It is based on Monty's thoughts and observations of nature throughout the year, with a little history thrown in e.g. why things are called certain names. A calm book.

Daisiesanddaffodils24 · 26/10/2024 19:20

Sorry that should have read 'My garden world'.

Yes I had 4 tubs in my online shop and the money was deducted twice at checkout.

not quite what you’re looking for sorry, but the Great English Stamp company are good for personalised stamps that could work for this x

onedayatatime73 · 26/10/2024 19:28

Thank you re stickers.

onedayatatime73 · 26/10/2024 19:29

Can someone share the Christmas sweets link? I can't find it

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 26/10/2024 19:33

@onedayatatime73 it's a voucher on the asda rewards app

Twinsandsome · 26/10/2024 19:35

See regarding the rewards voucher as Asda for sweet tubs, did it work for anyone online? Mines is saying in store only in the app and expires tomorrow

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 26/10/2024 18:12

@HeadOfGregor if you can't get hold of one, I'll be happy to make one if you want. I do needle felting in my spare time ☺️

How kind of you.

Oh you're all so bloody lovely 🥲 thank you SO much for those trying. I love this bit of MN.

The ginger ray ones could make a good festive alternative thanks for the heads up

It's probably the last year she's a believer as she's just started juniors so it would add a bit of magic on Xmas morning

Posca Pens PC-5M Acrylic Felt Tip Coloured Permanent Paint Markers for Adults and Kids. Perfect for Colouring, Fabric, Graffiti, Watercolour, Outline Drawing, Window and Glass Art. 12 Pack amzn.eu/d/83fcZHM

33% off so £19.99! Remember these been popular with arty teens!

So I've been ignoring the posca pen chat for years and DDs have finally asked for them.
Is this a good deal? Should I be holding out for better? 🫣

PurpleSock · 26/10/2024 19:47

Does anyone know if wonderbly do codes/best way to get a discount? I tried a few found on Google but they didn't work,

Am spending £34.99 on just one book so hoping for ~20% ideally 🤞

I’ve sent you a referral link for £10 off by pm. I prob won’t use the reward though so feel free to use someone else’s who might benefit more from it!

Yes it’s a good deal for the 12 set and it includes an extra black as well :-)

I was just looking as DS loves Poscas - and the 8 pen starter for £15.99 is good but I’d definitely spend the extra £4 and get the one @User202242 shared.

Also it’s showing 60 days free Audible with Poscas so if you don’t have that it’s worth getting! Maybe some Christmas books to listen to 🥰🎄

anon202420252026 · 26/10/2024 20:04

@GirlWithTheYellowHat not the same brand but my kids have paint pens from the works that are just as good.

IlovePond · 26/10/2024 20:14

@HeadOfGregor - I am returning pjs to Sainsbury’s tomorrow, so will have a look for you.

Re: Believing in FC - it may go on longer than you think. My oldest DS believed until end of Year 7, (and even then I think it was our younger one who spilled the beans 😹)

BoysBagsShoes · 26/10/2024 20:18

@HeadOfGregor I've just had a quick google and there are lots of cute vampire felt mice, witches etc available online. Probably best not to look at the ‘fun’ vampire taxidermy mouse on Etsy though…😂
