Christmas bargains thread 1 - just in the (Saint) Nick of time

I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage
www.find-book.co.uk
www.find-cd.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.find-game.co.uk (as in PS4/xbox etc)

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

I don't know why that clicky link thing came out on the bottom of the message there!

Excellent title, Reastie!

I've had an email for £10 off a £40 spend at Cotton Traders. Don't know if it's a generic code or not, but it's QEUA.

Some of mine have come out like that lately. Don't know if it's a new MN thing.

Not sure whether it's a good offer but in the Tesco magazine there is a voucher for £5 off a £15 spend on any L'Oreal Paris Golden Age skincare products.
They've also got various Oral B electric toothbrushes for less than half price. Many include a travel case which is very useful.

Jumping on board feet first! I feel very behind this year as I normally get cracking much earlier so looking forward to seeing some inspiration here. Thanks @Reastie for setting up the thread :)

Skyglimmer · 11/09/2024 17:26

Following, thanks @Reastie for setting this up 😊

ruralwanderer · 11/09/2024 17:33

Thanks @Reastie , excited to get started though I'm determined not to fall for gimmicks like the dolphin tracking bracelets this year 🙈

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/09/2024 17:37

Someone nabbed the argos over £60 code from the last thread, ahhh! Does anyone have 1 spare please?

Reastie · 11/09/2024 17:39

I just realised I didn't include the tips I meant to!

I'm trying to remember what they were:

*No affiliate links
*No need to place mark or post messages of thanks for the new thread - use the 'watch thread' button
*Be nice or leave

I've added the last one as a new one, but I think it's appropriate...

Did I miss anything?

I feel hard done by as I am almost done just from the prequel threads!

MsPolly · 11/09/2024 17:40

Tesco have loads of their toys reduced to clear - assuming making room for all the Christmas stock?

Chocolatecakewithsprinkles · 11/09/2024 18:28

@Blessedbethefruitz i have £6 off £60 if that's of use?

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/09/2024 18:29

@Chocolatecakewithsprinkles Yes please! Only spending £60 something now :)

Chocolatecakewithsprinkles · 11/09/2024 18:30

Pm'd you so it doesn't get pinched 😄

Someaddedsugar · 11/09/2024 18:32

@Reastie is it worth a reminder that there's a separate referral thread?

Tesco are getting rid of all of their toys to make way for an integrated 'The Entertainer' shop. I'm gutted about it. I used to love my Tesco bargains and half price toy sale!

Me too 😂😂😂 Checked the spreadsheet this morning and it's mostly foodie gifts left to get 🙈

MsPolly · 11/09/2024 18:46

@ChristmasFanatic ahhh I've seen that in some of the bigger stores - didn't realise it would be the same across all of them!

ItsTotesGodsWill · 11/09/2024 18:48

If anyone has any Man City supporters in the house, they have a really good sale on their website. They have up to 70% off last years kit and loads of accessories like backpacks etc

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 11/09/2024 18:49

Oh yeah! I've been on some of the other threads, so shimmying in!

I love my Fahlo bracelet and they were the hit of last year! My gorilla roaming the Ugandan volcano is <chef's kiss> ...backs away, thanking Reastie for setting up new threads.

Just to add a little nostalgia to the first thread of the season these are our original Robert the unicorns from Home Bargains. And yes, that's a double bed, the pink unicorn is huge DaffodilSmile

to the tune of the proper descant

For the main thread time is upon us 🥳

Lidl had bubble tea kits, £4.99 for three - brown sugar flavour - they always seem popular.

Yes ours has already gone over - no where near as good as it used to be sadly. Although if your store hasn't changed yet look out for bargains as they clear the stock - I was picking up the little TY teddies with the spangly eyes for under £2.
