I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage

www.find-cd.co.uk
www.find-dvd.co.uk
www.find-game.co.uk (as in PS4/xbox etc)

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

My EA came today, with gift. I am a bit annoyed I didn’t get to use my welcome code as they hadn’t sent it to me by the time I ordered!

Allbeauty have some good offers on atm: Good reductions on Clarins, Murad and Guerlain, with some excellent bargains in the Outlet section on things like Anna Sui perfume and Philip Kingsley.

https://www.allbeauty.com/

Code VCUK15 gets you 15% off orders over £100 and it works on the advent calendars. Limited selection - but they have the ESPA calendar, which comes down to £133 with the discount.

Also in the outlet: Some great Xmas bath bomb sets - reindeer, snowmen, etc. and a few other Xmas gifts.

Wetbrushes are fantastic and the mini ones were stocking filler hits last year. (£3.99)

TK Maxx always seem to have them, from £4.99. I saw Disney ones this week locally. The shower and shine varieties have also been received well by tweens/teens as presents. Also, a nice pamper hamper item, with a hair mask, hair turban, face mask and hairband thing for when you've got a face mask on!

MilkyBadBoy · 12/09/2024 03:11

@IlovePond My EA order also came but without the free gift- being sent separately according to the order update. I must’ve been one of the last to order before the free gift ran out of stock so really hoping they make good on it as tbh I wouldn’t ever have ordered without it.
I was also thinking of gifting the free bits, and will be on the look out for a nice way to present the loose items, @MamaK19 -I will shout if I find anything!

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 12/09/2024 03:44

Next clearance still have some great reductions on last years festive clothing.

@reastie is it still a thing to put the bargains in bold to be easily spotted in the chat? If so, can someone remind me how pretty please?!

Excited to be headed to a tkmaxx on Friday!

The princess wet brushes are my fave and can often be found in tkmaxx too. I think I paid £5.99 for my last one 🤔

Put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Check emails for Claire's, I've had one this morning about a 'secret offer' and given a barcode for 10 for £10.
I'm sure last time it was a generic barcode but I've not seen any other posts yet to verify this, although I'm sure most email subscribers will receive this.

Just came on to post the same! Instore offer only 10 for £10 on sale items. I took advantage of this last time and was over the moon with the haul!

Yes, I've had the Claires email too and am a subscriber / club member.

@Reastie what shout the usual Quidco and top cash back mentions?

Mistysmom · 12/09/2024 06:48

Not sure if anyone has posted this but Argos have wooden toys currently on offer - cute little sets for the younger children

Can someone please remind me about sizing for White Fox? I remember a lot of chat about it last year, does it come up really big? So for a 12/13 year old would I get the smallest size (xxs)? Thanks x

hby9628 · 12/09/2024 07:02

@Dinosweetpea my nearly 14yo is in a medium. She's a size 10. It doesn't look massive on her but she could have got away with an S. it depends on how slight your daughter is.

Yes @Dinosweetpea, DD 13 is in xxs but also has a baggier xs/s too. She’s quite petite but likes the variety.

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 12/09/2024 07:05

Sorry DD is a size 4/6 for reference or age 13 Zara.

Ooo my favourite thread, every year I seem to post under a different username though.
Anyway, my bargain is a reminder to sign up to a lindt reward card and submit your birth date (or any between now and December 😉) because on your birthday you can claim a free 200g box of lindor chocolates.

ruralwanderer · 12/09/2024 07:37

@GirlWithTheYellowHat I don't actually know...I bought them as gifts but they turned up without presentation bags or boxes and I couldn't be bothered to go looking for suitable packaging so close to Christmas so they're still in my under stairs cupboard untouched 🙈

I know lots of other people were thrilled with them but they're my stand out waste of money from last year.

Pigeonnoir · 12/09/2024 07:37

Thanks reastie. I have been on these threads since my oldest was a baby he’s 9 now. My youngest has just started school this week so I am looking forward to some real life Xmas shopping in shops! These threads have saved me over the years when I couldn’t get out as much with babies and toddlers at home .
I also really look forward to them starting

Notlongnow1 · 12/09/2024 07:53

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior

Or should I say thanks!

Mistysmom · 12/09/2024 08:02

Not sure if it is allowed on this thread but is anyone able to offer a BLC/ Unidays/ Student Beans code for Crocs please?

Think this might be an old code that’s working but if you use ELSA on the Disney store you get 15% off £50 or 20% off £75 on some items, I’m sure there be better around Black Friday but useful for any bits that might sell out.

Wonder what happened to the weird ‘shop Disney’ name…
