I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

Yey! Thank you Reastie... but how is it that time already?! And where did the summer go?
I always lurk on these threads, and they have saved my budget for many years, but I will try and contribute some bargains myself this year. Fingers crossed I find some good things to share!
(First purchase already made so thank you for whoever it was who shared the Manchester City sale - BIL sorted 😁)

Thanks for the Up bargain especially the £5 cash pot extra. I've been waiting on a bargain on this very set so I'm really pleased!

Only thing was in my local store the price on the shelf was £50. I scanned it and it was £22 right enough but maybe lucky for me as there was about 5 left so maybe people thought it was £50! Told a store assistant anyway.

WhyDoesItAlways · 12/09/2024 15:06

There were a few toy discounts on an end aisle in sainsburys today. Picked up a tamagotchi for £10.

TheCrow · 12/09/2024 15:08

Can someone tell me when the 10 for £10 barcode at Claires expires please? I'm currently on holiday so if it doesn't expire before Monday 16th and someone has one they won't use I would be very grateful for it 🙂 I'm in the C club but unsubscribed from emails after getting sick of being sent so many!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 12/09/2024 15:58

Thanks so much for the heads up about Notino! I've never been on that site before and there's so many good offers! I picked up a few of these Nars sets I know they are tiny but I've had a tiny blusher from that range before (I think it was in an Advent calendar) and it's so pigmented that it last forever. Really good little gifts that I know will be used. There's also a huge selection of diffusers and diffuser oils etc. Really impressed!

Dinosweetpea · 12/09/2024 15:59

Where is the Claires 10 for £10 barcode? I'm a member of C Club but not seeing the offer on my account? Thanks

Mine too, and they gave me a 10% discount code. Meh.

Myamoth · 12/09/2024 16:10

@sherbertdibdab Thank you!! The Teapigs advent calendar is lovely, have bought for my Mum and two friends, code TEANEWS took 10% off as well, so £8.99 each with free shipping 😀

Turtle Doves has one-of-a-kind (possibly patterned?) cashmere neckwarmers and fingerless gloves for £25 instead of £39.

These seem not to be seconds, so perhaps better for presents although you can’t choose the colour or pattern.

Cashmere Neckwarmer

Lightweight and stylish, our Cashmere Neck Warmers also double up as ear warmers. Sustainably made using upcycled cashmere, shop the full range.

Same here!

I am glad they cancelled the whole thing rather than sending the order without it. That would have annoyed me more.

Thelifeofawife · 12/09/2024 16:14

@LifeInAHamsterWheel Thanks, I’ll be ordering a couple of these sets! Not seen them before.
I have a Nars blusher and it has lasted ages!

I’ve used Notino a few times, always good prices and they deliver quickly

Looking for any bargain ideas for a car mad 13 year old. He's already got the full driving sim set up and he's had a ride in a Ferrari!

Thanks for any tips.

Whistlefish have £10 for 15 christmas cards on and 3.5% TCB plus a further 10% code on TCB. I can't seem to get it to accept more than one promo deal though I know they used to.

Favouritefruits · 12/09/2024 16:22

@TheCrow I rushed to Claire’s this morning I got to the store about 9.40 but there was hardly anything left!
@Dinosweetpea the Claire’s offer was specific but like I said above, you’ve not really missed out on anything!

Yalz · 12/09/2024 16:23

Turtle Doves one-of-a-kind cashmere £25 items might be useful if you have overseas people to give presents to, as standard delivery postage is free outside the UK.
The recipient might have to pay customs and import duty, though - click on the screenshot below - but there’s an option for you to pay it at checkout instead.

Delivery is £3:95 in the UK or free for £50+.

I imagine overseas might be free because it balances out the VAT?
