Ocado Christmas delivery

Hi

Have any of you had your Ocado Christmas delivery yet? Did you find out earlier than usual if anything was out of stock/being subbed?

Stupidly booked the 12-1pm slot on Christmas Eve, felt so cocky about it and now feeling like I'm going to have a frantic race around the supermarket getting the failed bits...

Mine came this morning, no subs.

Driver also didn't apologise for the subs as they usually do and definitely didn't wish me a merry Christmas

I genuinely couldn’t say if I’ve ever had a driver wish me merry Xmas, it wouldn’t even occur to me they should, or stick in my mind, and I don’t think I’ve ever had one apologise for the subs, generally it’s are you aware of the subs, as they go to look tk tell me, and I say yes, no probs, fine. To be honest I feel that it’s a little petty to complain you didn’t get a personal apology and a merry Christmas.

It wouldn't be an issue on its own but I do think they should at least check the customer wants the subs. I only got the email with my receipt 30 minutes before the delivery and not everyone checks their emails constantly.

I guess I've generally had really positive experience with Ocado drivers; they've seemed more helpful and polite than other supermarket drivers. And I specifically remember the Christmas ones for some reason.

Anyway now my receipt doesn't include the bag recycle bonus for the 10 empty bags I handed back so that's another thing he didn't bother to do. 😒

FizzyStream · 23/12/2023 16:39

Wow some of you have had a rough time with the drivers! Mine was friendly although understandably in a bit of a rush. Arrived in the allotted hour and wished me a "good one".
He kind of stacked the crates up outside the door so I took my own bags out while he unloaded the rest which was fine for me but wouldn't have been suitable for someone with a bad back for example. Anyway I'd give them a solid 8/10 for this years' delivery and at least my cream pots were intact and not split and spilt all over the place today.

I alternate between Ocado and Morrisons deliveries throughout the year and find them generally pretty good (apart from their shit packing but then I just request a refund if anything is damaged / spilt on). The drivers tend to be 80% friendly. There's the odd grumpy one that doesn't say much but I've never had a rude one. They must have employed extras for the Xmas rush.

Mine has just been delivered, I was missing lemons, butter, lemonade pate & trifle sponges, plus my tzatziki had burst all over a full bag of shopping.

Sounds like there's quite a few of us on here missing lemons in ocado deliveries today @Nat6999

PickledPurplePickle · 23/12/2023 17:22

I got mine. Notification came at normal time

libbytrois · 23/12/2023 17:55

Missing pigs in blankets, stuffing, no J20 of choice, crackers 😳, no 7up. Lots of unsuitable subs. Long term customer - poorest outcome yet. Not planning on doing this again next year!

SagaNorensPorche · 23/12/2023 18:03

Just had my receipt. No pigs in blankets or stuffing. About 10 substitutions. Shockingly bad this year.

Mimilamore · 23/12/2023 18:24

Mine was fine apart from family sized cauliflower cheese inside of one for two. They charge the greater price...

MadeOfAllWork · 23/12/2023 18:48

My delivery is coming tomorrow morning but it’s still showing as editable. I’m certainly not editing it but I had expected it to be locked by now!

You must’ve got MY cauliflower cheese!

mynameiscalypso · 23/12/2023 18:52

From a general perusing of these threads, cauliflower cheese and lemons seem to be the biggest issues this year.

Growlybear83 · 23/12/2023 18:53

I'm just amazed that people buy ready made cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets!

Amazed? Really?

fluffytail · 23/12/2023 19:02

I'm really disappointed in ours. I thought having an early slot would help.
2 bags of lemons, limes, oranges, Pringles and cheese missing. Load of fresh herbs missing. Cheeses subbed for unusual ones we wouldn't eat, biscuits swapped for tiny packets. All the crisps arrived squashed.
Driver arrived 30 minutes early which was fine except we were in the middle of breakfast and then in a flap trying to put all the frozen stuff away.

NewUser1111 · 23/12/2023 19:09

No lemons here either. Several other subs but not problematic ones. Clearly they are having citrus fruit supply chain issues!

Couch25k · 23/12/2023 19:15

Waitrose delivery on the 22nd. No substitutes. M &S this morning got everything I wanted.

no issues here thankfully

bookgirl1982 · 23/12/2023 19:19

We did get lemons but no stuffing, pigs in blankets or tonic water. Four sensible subs too.

Sparkletastic · 23/12/2023 19:36

Mine is just outside unpacking. No oranges, lemons or unsalted butter. Luckily DH was in town earlier and got all that. They also subbed a £6 pate for a £2.50 one - in an unexpected twist normally tight DH says we should keep it 'it must be good if it's £6' Shock

RainbowZebraWarrior · 23/12/2023 20:07

The great lemon shortage of 2023 has hit us here, too. Thankfully, we got two nets of limes instead. DD loves limes, so all good.

AlphaVTango · 23/12/2023 22:56

In a strange twist I didn't order any lemons but found one loose in one of my bags 😀 My turkey was substituted though....

user8800 · 23/12/2023 23:18

Rather dreading my 10am delivery tomorrow now 😫

I booked it in bloody October fgs...sigh

I can forsee a shopping trip on the horizon :(

Strawberryshortcake90 · 24/12/2023 06:41

Mine is en route for delivery later this morning. 5 missing items:

2l bottle of 7up - no sub offered
Part bake petit pains subbed for part bake baguettes
5m roll of foil subbed for 3m roll
Branded Brie subbed for M&S Brie
Gluten free puff pastry subbed for gluten free shortcrust - this will go back as no good for making sausage rolls.

KendallRoysRabbit · 24/12/2023 06:57

Just checked my receipt for delivery due at 8am - one of my missing items is the £37 Turkey crown, which they have subbed with a £75 turkey!

It's only for 3 people too as some of us are vegetarian so no way do I need one that big and definitely don't want to pay double the cost and do the extra cooking just to throw it away.

A bit of a dilemma as the supermarkets are not open til 10am so i can't even go out before it arrives to see if I can replace it, so a bit nervous about rejecting it on the door.

I've had Ocado deliveries on Christmas Eve for about ten years and no problems with main items before so I'm incredibly disappointed.

bigbadbarry · 24/12/2023 07:43

Mine is due at 830. No subs no missing item 🙌
