Not too sure as yet. Week beginning 4th December some time I think but probably toward the end of that week.

shardash · 29/10/2023 10:06

We try to do it the first weekend in December.

Tulipvase · 29/10/2023 10:06

Real tree so not till the 15th ish. Will stay up until around the 6th but depends when I’m back at work.

Extra fairy lights and other decorations will go up earlier.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 29/10/2023 10:08

We always have a fresh one so I aim for anytime from the 16th ish. Usually the weekend around there. Looking at the calendar it'll likely be 17th December this year!

Jericha · 29/10/2023 10:08

We're busy the first weekend of December which is when we normally do it but I'm currently on maternity leave, so I think I'll do the boring bits the Friday so there's enough time at the weekend of 2/3rd December to do all the fun bits.

grayhairdontcare · 29/10/2023 10:10

First weekend in December and down on Boxing Day

Mummumgem · 29/10/2023 10:12

When the children were little we put all the decs but the tree on the 15 ish normally the weekend before that. The tree went up the first day of the Christmas holidays. We would collect them from school on the last day and go and collect the tree ( we would have selected it the first weekend of December) DH would cut it down and we somehow fit it in or on the car , then home for burgers/pizza

mondaytosunday · 29/10/2023 10:15

First weekend in December!

truetruebarneymcgrew · 29/10/2023 10:18

Weekend before Christmas so 17...or maybe 23rd! Stays up until 12th night though, and this will be its last year, then it gets to retire and be planted out in the garden.

mondaytosunday · 29/10/2023 10:19

Ours is fresh too no problem keeping it looking good til twelfth night! Water water water.

LeonBlack · 29/10/2023 10:20

16 Dec here. We’re having our Christmas party that night.

rockinginarockingchair · 29/10/2023 10:29

My tree went up dec 1st 2015 came down dec 28th 2015.
Never had a tree since no decs nothing been years now not done xmas.
Cant be asked with it kids had and still got no interest in xmas.
They are adults now and live on their own but they never liked xmas.

On christmas day we have a good clean out i called christmas day spring clean.
Christmas dinner is just a sundays roast to me with extra veg.
I have to say its one of the most freeing things i gave up.
Followed with easter i can get chocolate all year round halloween pointless and valentines day you love someone all year round not just one day you can get flowers anytime of the year too much faffing.
This year im going on holiday from the 23 to the 8th of jan.

Growlybear83 · 29/10/2023 10:34

I usually put my tree up on Xmas Eve but as my daughter is coming home from Turkey for Christmas on 20 December for a week and because I want to make the most of the time she's here, I'll probably put the tree up that morning.

User0000009 · 29/10/2023 10:36

1st Dec as always. Can’t wait x

RabbitsRock · 29/10/2023 10:37

Usually around my birthday which is early December.

TulipTuesday · 29/10/2023 10:38

24th November. I’ve booked the day off in order to do it 😄

7Worfs · 29/10/2023 10:38

Second weekend of December.

KingscoteStaff · 29/10/2023 10:39

22nd if I have energy on last day of term or otherwise 23rd - first day of the hols!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 29/10/2023 10:42

First weekend of December so I think that’s 2nd or 3rd? It goes up whilst we watch muppets Christmas carol in the background.

GrumpyPanda · 29/10/2023 10:47

Morning of Christmas eve. May get the tree a couple days before and leave in a bucket of water. We do German-style Christmas though - live candles and it's all centered on the first lighting of the tree after dusk on Christmas eve (so it's a good idea if it's as fresh as humanly possible!) Tree usually goes out the day after Epiphany.
For advent, there's an advent wreath with one candle added for each Sunday of advent.

supadupapupascupa · 29/10/2023 10:50

Normally the 1st but I'm away until the Sunday evening so maybe the Monday instead

Mustbethemulledwine · 29/10/2023 10:51

Last Sunday in November, so this year it'll be the 26th 🎄

Pipistrellus · 29/10/2023 10:53

It's outside in a pot and too big to be brought in now. I'll put lights on it sometime from the first weekend in December onwards depending when I feel like it.

gotomomo · 29/10/2023 10:54

Depends on dc. We are on holiday early December, hoping they will have taken charge and put it up but I can't see any pigs flying ... Grin

I'm guessing 10th then

DramaAlpaca · 29/10/2023 10:56

It'll be a real tree, so not until a week before Christmas.
