Picture advent calendars that add to the scene rather than have random pictures behind the doors

I hope the title makes sense.
Anyway, I came across these advent calendars that seem to fit the bill and thought I'd share in case anyone else is looking.

I'd love to have a peek at everyone's calendars and follow along with opening all the windows throughout December (I'm trying not to spend too much this year so I don't yet know if I'll be able to have one of my own).

I am also a bit sniffy about random pictures behind doors. I had an angela harding one last year but that was a last minute purchase as I love the 3d building ones. Phoenix Trading used to amazing ones. I miss them.

I may go for this one this year.

I didn't mind the random picture ones. We make a game of trying to guess what the picture will be. However, I think this thread may have spoiled them for me 😊

I used to like the random pic ones. It was only as dd grew up and realised that other dc got chocolates that I succumbed to the pressure and bought her those. So, I bought myself a traditional one each year.
By chance one turned out to be a 'continuity' one and that was it for me 🤣 But there have been the odd misses over the years - like the Christmas pudding one !

I treat myself to a traditional advent calendar every year, love them. This year I’ve got a Roger La Borde one that assembles over each day. They’re all gorgeous, I’ve chosen this one called Hollow Tree Hideaway.

Thanks for all the ideas. A silly thing but my DH never had an advent calendar as a child and I wanted to get him a traditional one with pictures behind the doors this year. Now I've got lots of choice! 😊

This is gorgeous. I remember the first advent calendar I had like this as a child. I have nearly all of them still. This thread is such a tonic, thank you!!

I was always set against the chocolate ones, no surprise to them and they look tatty when opened. The reusable ones tempted me but I wasn't sure I'd be able to find 24 wee items for the pockets/drawers (didn't want sweets, too samey) and what to you do with the items once removed? I thought about one that gradually decorates a teeny tree or assembles into something but they were often eye-wateringly expensive and, because of space limitations, I needed something that would hang up.

I have a feeling I've already got an advent calendar for this year, probably got one reduced in January 😔 that'll teach me.

@JessicaFletcherMSW I had one like that years ago but it was a present from an overseas Christmas market , I can’t remember where , but maybe that’s why you are having trouble tracking one down online .
