I think I'm going to nip into Paperchase tomorrow to see if I can get SIL some really nice stationery. Are there any other shops (other than WH Smith) that might have some nice stuff? Probably preferably real life shops now unless amazon!

Waterstones?

noodledoodler · 18/12/2022 21:29

Hi there, might anyone have an m&s code for kids clothes please? I have a big basket of school uniform bits waiting to be checked out (don't you just love a mid school year growth spurt)

Dogmatix34 · 18/12/2022 21:39

Thanks mummymilkfloat, you’ve inspired me to email again. I ordered Christmassy themed gift sets so if they turn up in Jan they will be no good for the birthday present stash!

Cuwins · 18/12/2022 21:45

If anyone has a little one to buy for John Lewis had some really good reductions on baby clothes in store today. I think on older children's clothes to but I didn't look.
Got a Christmas dress for next Christmas for £4 and a non Christmas pj set for £5.50 both 50% off.
Good offers online too if you don't need them for Christmas

BloodyMabel · 18/12/2022 22:06

Thanks for all the smashed grapes info, mine have been cancelled so just glad they’re not going to be left on the doorstep after we leave to visit family! Had to claim on my credit card in the end as they just ignored my requests for a refund.

Does anyone have a suggestion for someone’s that’s just got into knitting? Language is a struggle so I guess patterns wouldn’t work as you need to read bits I’m assuming?

I took up knitting last year and a few bits I found handy were:

Stitch counter.

Big-ish knitting bag to keep projects tidy while working on them.

Long smaller bag for knitting needles, scissors, a yarn needle etc. DS got me a lovely modern style personalised set from Etsy.

You can also get yarn holders from Amazon/Hobbycraft that help when working on projects.

A plastic Pom Pom maker set might be fun to finish off hats/blankets.

I tend to follow YouTube tutorials so have no idea how to read a pattern!

SugarCookieMonster · 18/12/2022 22:41

Won’t arrive in time for Christmas but Photobox have a photo book for £5. After much clicking and faffing it seems to be on the square ‘Little memories’ book at the smallest pages option (26 iirc). Once added to basket the offer code is ONLY5. Brings it to £8.99 in total with delivery.

I made a baby board book for DS (4) with photos of him with different family members. He still loves it and I’d put all the names on there so he recognises the words now too. I’ve made the offer one today with everything he’s done this year.

Or snow15 for 15% off might be cheaper if you're spending a lot (easily done)

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 19/12/2022 07:21

LookFantastic have 20* off various beauty products until 5pm, you can also get premier delivery for £5 which gives you unlimited next day delivery for a year.

Groupon have up to 25% off from 4pm - 10pm tonight with code FLASHGIFT - useful for last minute vouchers etc although irritatingly it doesn't specify exactly what's included!

Really struggling for DP's presents this year, I was hoping to get him an experience voucher but many places have a weight limit which he's well over at 24 stone. Similarly he needs new PJs/ lounge pants but very few places do XXXL and most are sold out! Can't do food, drink etc as he will moan that we're not helping him with his weight loss attempts. He doesn't have any hobbies, I'm stumped really Confused

A couple of balls of nice yarn in. Two or three balls of DK weight would be enough to make a hat or gloves.

I'd normally recommend Etsy for accessories like stitch markers or project bags but you may be a little late now. If you're getting really stuck for time then some online stores might have e-vouchers.

For your DP how about a National trust membership so you can go on nice walks together?
or a Fitbit? If that wouldn’t be taken the wrong way.

How about tech things, does he have/need earphones, kindle, ring doorbell, smart watch etc?

a lot of the hoodie blankets would fit that size, or a heated throw?

So far they're ignoring my PayPal claim. It's really annoying. I'm thinking they have cash flow issues.

Snowdropsarelovely · 19/12/2022 07:45

If anyone could pm me a Lakeland voucher I'd be very happy! Annoyingly, I threw mine away because I didn't think I needed anything, I'm now about to spend over £200 there ... thanks in advance!

I suspect msssively overwhelmed but possibly cash issues if everyone’s parcels are lost. Some companies don’t give much sympathy to their business parcels going off the missing parcel thread.

Please can I ask for help for two teenagers?

I've been in hospital for the past five months and Christmas has rather crept up on me.

Two goddaughters that I forgot (sorry!) - so perhaps something from Amazon that will actually arrive in time.

One is 11, and pretty standard interests for her age. The other is 16 and came out as non-binary last year, with a new name etc.

The family is very eco-conscious, left wing, liberal etc but I don't really know the children that well individually.

Any thoughts?

@Stylemyhairplease i find cinema vouchers work well for this type of situation.

20% off £50 spend not sure if it’s account specific though and has to be used by midnight tonight

Blessedbethefruitz · 19/12/2022 08:35

Ahhhh I need help! My brother and his fiance are on the other side of the world (working visa) for a few years and has announced our packages will be with us Wednesday 😫What can I send digitally, is there anything more exciting than amazon or nintendo eshop vouchers?!

threelittlebearcubs · 19/12/2022 08:35

Can anyone recommend any board games for a 9 year old please? Ideally a bargain and available on Amazon as it's a last minute add on gift!
Thanks!
