As PP mentioned, I also have Kipozi straighteners after having GHDs and would suggest they are just as good.

My Turtle Doves order hasn't arrived yet. I just wondered if others have received their orders?

Can anyone recommend budget straighteners that work really well? SILs GHDs died last week and I'd like to buy her some new ones but can't quite stretch to brand new GHDs 🙈🙈🙈

Recently replaced GHD's with Remington hydraluxe - really impressed with them. I like that they have different temperature settings

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/12/2022 07:43

Can anyone recommend a hair dryer that can cope with long thick hair. Prepping for the sales as not a Christmas present but Christmas party has highlighted needs

Wallaroo21 · 18/12/2022 08:00

Does anyone have a suggestion for someone’s that’s just got into knitting? Language is a struggle so I guess patterns wouldn’t work as you need to read bits I’m assuming?

EwDavid · 18/12/2022 08:00

Can anyone recommend a really cosy dressing gown for a 12 year old boy?

vjg13 · 18/12/2022 08:01

@Howmanysleepsnow My husband has a heated plug in fleece blanket that he loves, I may get him a long hot water bottle for Xmas or a heated cushion. Would he like something like that?

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/12/2022 08:07

@Howmanysleepsnow i would get him some Cosy slippers!

PeachTea1 · 18/12/2022 08:18

I picked up an illustrated version of Harry Potter following on a recommendation from these threads and just wanted to hop on to say wow!! It’s stunning, got it for £16, but looks so expensive, a real gift to treasure.

Checking in thanks!

Good morning, thanks for the new thread

Stylemyhairplease · 18/12/2022 08:58

Please can I ask for help for two teenagers?

I've been in hospital for the past five months and Christmas has rather crept up on me.

Two goddaughters that I forgot (sorry!) - so perhaps something from Amazon that will actually arrive in time.

One is 11, and pretty standard interests for her age. The other is 16 and came out as non-binary last year, with a new name etc.

The family is very eco-conscious, left wing, liberal etc but I don't really know the children that well individually.

Any thoughts?

Kipozi are great but I think they have changed name to Stylocks. They are from Amazon and £22.
Stylocks

I really love my Glamoriser straighteners too, they are found in Amazon and in Argos, purple or black and under £50

ToastyFingers · 18/12/2022 09:04

@Howmanysleepsnow this isn't what you were asking, but for future reference if you need it, my ol' man wears a 4xl and I've bought lovely clothes for him from next. Lots of stuff goes up to 4/5xl, is proportioned really well and doesn't cone with the 'big and tall' type branding you get from places like jacamo. Great if you wanted stuff like matching pjs too.

tabbycat985 · 18/12/2022 09:08

Thanks for the new thread Reastie!
Asda George online have a great sale on their Christmas clothing if anyone is still looking for bits or even to put away for next year!

This LEGO Tractor is only £10 which seems like a great price

does anybody know of any currys discount codes going around? My daughters tv just fell off and smashed

Tesco are doing 20% off their gift cards, one of which is curry’s. Many different ones, including hotels, restaurants and general shopping ones. Offer ends today.

www.tescogiftcards.com/?doubleclick=1&cmpid=soc/acq/gc/na/fb/GiftCardsPromo2/wk41&dclid=CKL3svOP__sCFdXV1QodJfkCSQ

Forgot to say these are Tesco e-vouchers you can send to yourself or to others. 20% off is an amazing deal and you could just use them for general Tesco shopping if you buy the Tesco one or there are loads of other choices.

PokemonPasta · 18/12/2022 09:17

For the goddaughters I'd say maybe try and avoid amazon if they're a lefty Liberal family. Maybe some kind of subscription or experience. There are a lot of book, art materials, snack subscriptions available. Or something like go ape, or art class voucher?

@Mince314s can I ask where the chocolate shaker is from please?

It's this one: Chocolate society shaker

Stepcount · 18/12/2022 09:23

@Schnooze did you manage to get this to work? I followed the link but unless I am mistaken there are only 3 cards that you can choose from- Pizza Express , Wayfair and one other.

It's gorgeous, isn't it? I've wrapped it for my DD who will be 6 in April but think it might be a bit grown up for her yet. I've been reading her Roald Dahl but I think HP might still be a bit complex.

Thank you the poster who recommended The Wintertide Bear, I got copies to gift to my two toddler nieces and one for my youngest who’s now reading by themselves.
