When do you put up your Christmas tree?

Somebody near me has their tree up now!

I usually do mine the first or second week in December although I might actually do mine during the last week in November this year.

What about everyone else?

Approx 18 December; everything then stays up until Twelfth Night.

AuntieDickhead · 28/10/2022 21:48

I might put mine up on 26th Dec this year. I'll take it down on 24th Dec next year.

I'm a rebel like that.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 29/10/2022 16:23

I usually wait for after my birthday on 30th Nov. So if we have time we'll do it on 1st Dec (ish) otherwise it'll be our first free weekend day which is 4th Dec.

I LOVE our decorations, and in 2020 I put them up before my birthday as I was gutted to be spending my 40th birthday in lockdown having had to cancel my planned party.

MrsDThomas · 29/10/2022 16:31

Last Saturday in November. Always

RisingSunn · 29/10/2022 16:35

Last year I did it on the 1st of December. Never again. The whole Christmas period felt never ending.

So second week of December or later for me this year- no earlier!

glamourousindierockandroll · 29/10/2022 16:44

I love Christmas but I don't really like decorations other than the tree. I've inherited a lot and I think i need a good cull. Last year, I put them up around the 18th and I'm sure they were down before new year.

Misspacorabanne · 29/10/2022 16:58

Sunday the 27th this year... First day of advent. I can't wait!

Poppins17 · 29/10/2022 17:12

Normally last Saturday in November as it always follows our village Christmas light switch on, but this year we are busy that weekend, so it will most likely be the weekend after.

Dogtooth · 29/10/2022 17:17

Usually intend to do it start Dec and get round to it mid Dec! I think it spoils it if you do it too early.

I like to enjoy for as long as possible! It's not possible (for me) that the presence of a Christmas tree in my living room can be 'spoiled' 😂

Any time in Dec before Christmas.
Depends on my mood.

I am thinking earlier rather than later this year. But we shall see.

Certainly never before Dec

HeyManIJustWantSomeMuesli · 29/10/2022 17:45

One or two weekends before Christmas, depending where Christmas Day falls. So this year probably the 10th or 11th.

Topseyt123 · 29/10/2022 17:50

Probably the weekend before Christmas. Though if I could get away with it it would be up on Christmas Eve and down on Boxing Day. It's always down by New Year.

HideTheCroissants · 29/10/2022 17:50

1st Sunday of advent so 27th November this year.

CrunchyCarrot · 29/10/2022 17:52

Week before Xmas, but with a young cat now I think I may not do it at all!😂Would do other decorations that he can't get at!

mastertomsmum · 29/10/2022 17:54

We order a real one to be delivered by the farm and recycled by them too. There are usually 2 dates for delivery and collection. With real trees, around the 15th would be the earliest, otherwise they are a bit manky by the time it’s collected on 4th,5th,6th

3peassuit · 29/10/2022 17:56

It goes up the weekend before Christmas and comes down on 12th night.

Furries · 03/01/2023 01:41

The fireplace garland and the stockings will be packed away this weekend.

The tree, in front of one of the living room windows, will stay up until Candlemas. I love having it in the room, and I love seeing it all lit up as I walk down the front path.
