Somebody near me has their tree up now!

I usually do mine the first or second week in December although I might actually do mine during the last week in November this year.

What about everyone else?

First weekend in December. Unless November ends on a Sunday. Then that day.

cliffdiver · 26/10/2022 21:08

The first weekend of December.

We usually take it down the day after New Years Day.

justasoul · 26/10/2022 21:08

First Sunday of the advent until epiphany for us.

bluechameleon · 26/10/2022 21:11

First weekend in December. When I was a child we did it much later, but I like having longer to enjoy it. I also think Christmas trees are now bred to retain their needles better than they used to because ours always lasts fine from then until 12th Night, whereas I'm sure I remember the tree shedding loads when I was little.

Itsagrandoldteam · 26/10/2022 21:13

First weekend in December, we start bringing all the boxes and decorations down on the Friday. By the end of friday I've usually got the tree up with just the lights on, then spend the sat & sun decorating everywhere.

mondaytosunday · 26/10/2022 21:16

First weekend in December.

KangarooKenny · 26/10/2022 21:16

1st of December

bookdown · 26/10/2022 21:17

Tree is arriving on the 10th

Topbird29 · 26/10/2022 21:18

Usually first weekend in December- as buy fresh one from local scouts. And comes down 5th/6th Jan. Love the decorations!

stargirl1701 · 26/10/2022 21:18

@MightyOaks

DH and I are off for the 12 days of Christmas so we have a lovely time with the DC.

We do observe Advent.

Always the closest wknd after 1st Dec.
Never before the 1st though (apart from 2020 when it went up at the end of Nov).

I've noticed a trend on social media this year of people dressing their trees for Halloween... Maybe that's what your neighbour is doing!

I genuinely think it is up as an actual Christmas tree - it had white lights on it and what appeared to be a star at the top. Couldn’t really see Anymore as was driving past.

I really want to get a real one this year. But then I want to buy a tall artificial one with the fake snow on it

1st December. Although it might be a bit earlier this year before I get too heavily pregnant/give birth early!

WeWillLookBack · 26/10/2022 21:41

Love Christmas !! First weekend in December. We have quite a lot of decorations and two trees - I like to enjoy doing it, and take 2 or 3 days putting everything up Would probably be quicker if I didn’t drink a large bottle of Baileys whilst doing it.

bigfamilygrowingupfast · 26/10/2022 21:42

Last weekend in November (thanksgiving weekend!)

Mid November, I love making the most of Christmas!

I leave my Christmas decs up from midwinter until early Feb as I love Christmas.

TwoRockSalmonAndAHaporthOfChips · 26/10/2022 21:47

Usually the second weekend in December. If the fall of the weekend makes it feel a bit late I might go a week earlier if I’m using the fake tree. We have to move a piece of furniture to make space for a real tree away from all the radiators, and we can’t do that if we’ve got everyone for Christmas and have to fully extend the table.

AdventCaroline · 26/10/2022 21:47

The day after school breaks up. But I have to buy it earlier and earlier every year and leave it in the garden for 2 weeks, as they are all sold out by then!

Aarohi · 26/10/2022 21:49

Up on 24 December (Christmas Eve), down on 6 January (Epiphany).

erikbloodaxe · 26/10/2022 21:51

August 4th. Take it down July 27th so We can hoover.

yerdaindicatesonbends · 26/10/2022 21:51

We have ended up putting it up the last week in November for a few years now. It’s DHs birthday and it’s become something of a running joke that it goes up then as I was messing with him persistently one year about putting them up on his bday and he brought home a tree.

They come down before new year though.

Goldmember · 26/10/2022 21:54

Around 10th to 15th Dec, usually second week. Don't like the decorations up too early, usually come down around the 28th- 29th.

AdaColeman · 26/10/2022 21:55

I put it up during the evening of Christmas Eve, and take it down on 6th January (Epiphany).

Tulipvase · 26/10/2022 22:05

As a child it was Christmas Eve till the 6th Jan, then got earlier the older I got, but always a real tree so not too early.

We also have a real tree, we buy it the first week but don’t put up till the 15th or so. I put other decorations up the beginning of December.

AnnapurnaSanctuary · 26/10/2022 22:06

Mid-December.
